Today was an eventful day! Those who follow me on Facebook may have seen that I posted a bunch of stuff in my online shop today. I spent almost all day photographing, writing out descriptions and posting items and everything that I listed today sold. Everything. Most of it within minutes. So, that was very exciting, but we were having some technical issues with the online store that made the shopping experience a little frustrating for some, understandably. I once had a stack of blue and white dishes bought out from under me at a yard sale and it was not one of my finest moments. I get it and apologize to those of you who missed out on something you really wanted because the system wasn’t cooperating. My “tech guy”, who is awesome, is working on getting everything fixed and running smoothly.
If you missed out on the listings today, don’t worry…I have more stuff to list and will do that when we have some of the kinks worked out. I also will place another order for the hemp sheets, since those sold so quickly. And perhaps I should be a bit more aggressive about quantity, so there is enough to go around! I always underestimate!
Anyway, on to FFF! It’s been a few weeks since we’ve spent this time together – scrolling through all of the inspirational goodness in the blog world. I’m looking forward to it! Here are my favorites from our last FFF…way back in December.
I think this chair by Suzanne of The Painted Drawer is so pretty. She left the vintage velvet fabric intact and just gave it a good cleaning. She then painted and distressed the frame to bring out the details. Without reupholstering it, she gave this chair and entirely new look. Neat trick!
I know this is more of a holiday project, but I love how Victoria of Victoria Elizabeth Barnes (of “Kingdom Mirror” fame) wrote on the now famous mirror with glitter. It’s a clever little project and would be a fun addition to a girly vanity, dresser or bathroom. Again, another way to change up a piece without a major overhaul. And you know how I feel about glitter. (As a side note, Victoria is hysterical and sort of my Craig’s List hero and I use the line “look me in the eye” on Jeff quite frequently.)
And lastly? Come on. A beautifully painted white table in the snow with evergreen wreaths and pomegranates? How could I pass up that visual display? It’s just pretty. Mary from Orphans with Makeup is the mind behind this…
Here are the rules for our furniture get-together…
1.) Your post has to be about furniture. Please, please, please…just furniture. If you find your link has been deleted, it’s not because I’m mean, it’s because your post was not about furniture. You can share makeovers, awesome finds, favorite pieces, furniture arrangements, or even pieces on your wish list! Built-in furniture like kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanities qualify as furniture.
2.) Post a permalink (the link to the post), not the link to your blog.
3.) This party will close Friday at midnight PST and I will choose my favorite(s) and feature their piece(s) on next week’s FFF. Enjoy the party!

I’m not seeing where to link up???
Yes, I think the link is missing too. We can wait … I love FFF!
Sorry, it’s up now! I’m not sure what happened. The code was there, but it wasn’t showing up. I need to walk away from my computer before it blows up. This has not been my day for technology!
I believe there must still be some issues with the site. Hope you get it up and going…I’m sure I’m not the only one that has missed it.
I loved that chair on The Painted Drawer too !!
I love the shot of the white table in the snow ~ what an awesome composition!
Love it all for sure!! Can’t wait to link my project!!
Well darn, I’ve really missed the link party….hope it is running correctly soon.
Hurray, it is working!
Happy New Year – love peeking at your online store – zoom though. Thanks for Furniture Friday Favorites. Much appreciated.

Marian,
I could almost hear you saying omg (oh my gosh) as you listed things in your on-line store and saw them sell within seconds! As an antique dealer, I would have difficulty selling a sugar jar without a lid, newer ironstone, and books that were not in the best of shape, even at less expensive prices! You go girl!!! I have had an old antique ironstone platter, marked, with one small brown spot in my booth with $20.00 on it for months and it is still there! I also sell small stacks of old books with beautiful ribbon tied around them for $6.00 (3-5 books) all in good shape and they sit for a while! I will for sure be one of your vendors if you start taking on vendors! Do you think it is your area, or do you think it is your name and folks want something that came from you? I think you could make a living selling smalls on line! 🙂
Blessings
Sooooo glad you have a link to Victoria Elizabeth Barnes and all her hilarity on your post today….you and her together is the best of both worlds. I get a weekly fix of beautiful practicality from your blog and smiles and giggles but I find her blog beautifully impractical with side splitting hilarity and get huge laughs from her crazy ideas …..nice to see my two favorite bloggers together on one page! I live about halfway between the two of you and I fantasize about having the two of you over for tea and scones.
I WOULD LOVE TO BE A PICKER FOR YOUR online store! I find all of the items you are selling easily in my area of Pennsylvania often at great prices……..let me know if you would want to expand your online store with more items once the glitches are worked out!!!! I have to admit although I can buy much but certainly not all of what you sell I still think it has a certain extra appeal when it is listed on the MMS website. You have a wonderful following of loyal customers……so happy for your successes.
hi marion, i’m sure you are aware by now there are no links showing up…maybe its still a work in progress.
i’d like to make a suggestion about your on line shop, would it be possible for you to list things on a specific day so that we could know when to check it out and not miss out? whenever i’ve checked out the shop in the past everything is already gone! if we knew when things are listed, that might give a better chance of snagging one of your treasures.
have a wonderful weekend!
Yeah, I don’t know what the right solution is, but I may try listing on a certain day, so everyone knows. I’m also switching to a different shop platform that will handle a rush of shoppers better than the current one.
thank you marian, I’m sure you will get the kinks worked out eventually.
I woke up to such a lovely surprise! Thanks so much for featuring my green velvet chair! You really made my day 🙂
I think you are experiencing growing pains. Small business is about to burst into larger business. The glitches are to be expected. Frustrating, but then so is the experience of growing. So excited to see where 2014 takes you!
Hi Marian – That’s amazing that everything sold out in a day! Thanks for featuring my white table. I’m so grateful. Hope you get your tech problems solved soon. Bummer…..

Happy new year Marian! Thanks for hosting.
Victoria is hilarious. I discovered her blog last year and laughed so hard, I read her mirror post to my husband and he thought it was great! He didn’t really want me to read him a post about a mirror but he listened anyway, and then started laughing. I knew he would like it.
I so agree….Victoria Elizabeth Barnes is absolutely the bomb with her posts about Craigslist, her cat Elvis and her husband Paul. I encourage everyone to check out her blog…..it is a compliment to the sanity of Marian’s MMS blog.
I love the chair. You certainly know how to pick them. A perfect blend of old and new, absolutely beautiful
Please, please, please…I need my fix! I hope you get it running! So looking forward to this on Fridays! Have a great weekend!
Oh my gosh! I laughed until I cried at Victoria’s post about the mirror. That was hysterical! This is another reason I love your blog, it comes with extra perks, finding other wonderful bloggers.
ps…love that new sofa. it’s gorgeous 🙂 my favorite shot was the rolled arm and in the distance you can see your fabric wall in your bedroom. Great photo!
What time do you post things on the shop? I’m not able to get anything, so I need to know when to hit your site here on the West Coast. Please!!!
Hi all! I’ve been reading the comments since yesterday and I just wanted to mention something. I liken MMS online shop to the rules of a garage/antique sale. If you happen to get lucky and be at the right place at the right time – you snag your treasure. But….as has happened to me more than once, sometimes you snooze and you loose! Marion should be able to sell her own belongings without us telling her how or when to do it 🙂
You made my day!! Truly!! (I tried to think of something more interesting to write… but I guess that sums it up.)
xoxo
Love those pomegranates on the white table in the snow ~ beautiful job, spectacular composition. How green is my wreath? 🙂 🙂 🙂
Thank you so much for hosting!
I wanted to link up but it’s saying the linky is closed. 🙁 Are you putting a cap on the number of entries and/or closing it after 24 hours?
