I have been really blessed in my business to partner with people who are wonderful to work with and also wildly talented.  Sometimes they find me.  Sometimes I find them.  Sometimes we knew each other already and we suddenly realized that working together made sense.  Due to these relationships, I’ve ended up with a business that is exploding and a heart full of gratitude.

A few of those partnerships came together and made our Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint packaging award-winning.

Jennylyn of Homestead House manufactures and distributes the paint world-wide.  Laura Dreyer, a former student in our youth group, drew the dresser illustration and designed the greenish-blue “wall paper” background used as borders.  Reni of Bliss & Tell Branding Company started with those elements and designed all of the packaging.  Maria of Dreamy Whites styled and photographed the products in the photo above.

Because of the work of all of these women, Bliss & Tell Branding Company is a 2014 American Package Design winner in the Household, Garden & Industrial category!

It’s a real honor for all of the women who were a part of it.  Congratulations to all of them!

And it’s confirmation to me that I’ve partnered with the right people.

While we’re talking about branding, I want to plug the Building a Creatively Made Business 2.0 video course one more time.  Last week was the last “live” week of the class, but you can sign up for it any time.  This class includes over 80 videos from Jeanne Oliver, Jen Rizzo and me as well as videos from guest speakers like Gina of Shabby Creek Cottage, who’s an Etsy expert and my own branding guru, Reni of Bliss & Tell.

The price for the class is $59 and you can purchase it through PayPal below…

After you have paid from this link please go to jeanneoliver.ning.com and register on the site where the course is held.  Once you have registered and your account is approved it can take up to 72 hours to get you manually added to the course.

Congrats to you for the award! It really takes a great team of people to reach your goals. Jennylyn has been so helpful to me when ordering paints and addressing questions. Bravo!

    2. Ronnie Gunn Tucker

Beautiful job on the branding! It looks so appealing in our shop. The bags are a little messy to work with when measuring and mixing, but they look great on our shelves. Loving the Building a Creatively Made Business 2.0 video course! No more TV in the evenings! I’m watching you and Jeanne and Jennifer. What an inspiration you all are.

Congrats to you and all involved. I hate to have to agree with Ronnie Gunn Tucker though. The pouch is a little awkward to use, especially if you do not use all of it at once. The opening of the main bag is a bit too small to insert a measuring spoon. I don’t waste any!! The interior bag is a little flimsy too. And then to try to put the small bag back in the main package if I take it out….I find it very messy compared to other lines….but I like your paint best!!!!!

Congratulations! The packaging is amazing.. I’ve seen it on shelves and it looks so appealing. All of you are such talented ladies and it’s so cool how you’ve all come together and created this amazing brand.

The packaging is very eye-catching. Congrats to everyone! However…….. I agree that the pouch is very messy and I can’t ever zip up the zip strip! Frustrating! 😐 I’ve taken to rolling down the top and using a binder clip to secure. What about a glass container with a screw top lid? Or plastic? I think I’m going to transfer all mine into jars anyway so I don’t spill any of the precious stuff!

I’ve been closing with a paper clip, Jan. Hoping for plastic jars or snap lid plastic with WIDE opening! It would make using it so much easier, especially for ones who use it several times a week like we do at the shop. Same beautiful labeling and branding could be applied!

Congratulations Marian. I know it feels good to be validated! Branding can be a tough job.

Hello! I’ve seen several people on Instagram showing your tung oil and solvent. They have your logo on them, but I’ve never seen you show them on your blog nor can I find them on Homestead House??

    8. Jelena

Congratulations on the award to all the ladies who had their hand in creating the winning design!

    9. Rose White

Love your products but definitely have to agree that the pouches for the paint are awkward and messy to use. Perhaps they could make a similar version with a wider opening that is sealed initially and then you can fold it over and close with the attached plastic/wire strip. Like those packages that cookies frequently come in. The labels and backgrounds are great, wouldn’t change a thing about them.

      Congratulations!

My only complaint about your packaging is the lid on the hemp oil. Having the hands of a senior citizen makes opening the lid difficult. Is it a safety issue or a leakage issue?
I would like an easier to open lid. Thanks. LC

Congrats to all the ladies that made the packaging a success!! Coincidentally, I just received my milk pain tee shirt, and I am LOVING it!! So pretty!! Thank you so much!!

    12. Katy

Because of their obviously excellent work with your branding and others in their portfolio, I’ve reached out to Bliss and Tell over a week ago for some work for my parents company and never heard back! All that said, you deserve all the awards, your packaging and branding is adorable.

    13. Jeanette @ Creating a Life

Congratulations to you and your team, Marian!
I’m almost through the last week of the Building a Creatively Made Business course and just couldn’t be more pleased with the quality of the content! I’m really going to miss my late night videos with you and Jeanne and Jen! 🙂
I highly recommend it to anyone who hasn’t already signed up. You won’t find a better value (or motivation) for focusing on beginning a business, or imporving the one you already have!
      Thanks again, Marian!

Congratulations Marion and all your lovely ladies! A very well deserved win! I would also like to say a big THANK YOU for putting together the building a creative business workshop – it is AMAZING. I cannot thank you, Jeanne and Jen enough for being so generous in spirit to put it all together.
      With much gratditude,

      Alison

    15. Kay

      Congratulations!

I just saw what must have been your double on an Antiques Roadshow from 1997, with a very valuable old silver spoon. Seems too long ago to have been you–was it?

    16. Sharon Hankins

As a person who dabbles in design, I think they’ve done a fabulous job!! Branding is great, and of course I LOVE the product. Well done and big congrats to all involved!!

    17. Melissa Boyce

Congrats to the team! I am a graphic designer and have always admired the design and packaging.

    18. Shirley@Housepitality Designs
