(Wait a minute…as a decorative artist, I am supposed to be one. Why is it easier to pick colors for other people?)
I mentioned in my last post that I got $150 in Hobby Lobby gift cards for Christmas and I knew right away that I wanted to buy fabric for my master bedroom. This room has been a challenge for me and I am about to paint it for the 5th time in 3 years! Craziness, I know. I just can’t get settled in a color. I am constantly changing things, moving furniture in & out of my house, and trying new looks that I have a fear of commitment. This fear has kept my house in the blahs for long enough, so I bit the bullet and bought $100 worth of fabric and trim. This is what I settled on…

My vote is for the Sea Salt. Have fun!

I vote for the Irish Cream!
2 Irish Creams, please.
: )

My walls are sea salt and I LOVE them. AND turqouise shades are the shades of the new year! That being said, Irish cream is pretty and perfect for those that like to change things up alot. It is perfect for any fabrics.
I am liking both but Irish Cream wins out. Just my opinion.
I need to blog about a few things in our new house that have been a challenge and get some opinions. Most of the time, I don't have a problem. This house…I am
I think both would look great though.
That sea salt looks perfect to me. I might have to check in to that color myself. I really like the fabrics you chose!
If you have a hard time committing to colour, I vote for irish cream or even a tone or 2 darker. (but you know what outcome you desire and lighting best). I personally tire of colours on walls quickly.
Walk into a room with colour and ask yourself how the room makes you feel. I painted some feature walls the perfect sage green but within 2 days they were back to my Bamboo Beach. And it felt so fresh, like I could breath in the room again.
I'm totally not afraid of colour. I love it! But there's a reason I changed my feature bedroom red wall soon after I did it. I needed to breath again. BUT the red feature wall in my son's playroom rocks! (probably because I don't have to stare at it all the time) 🙂

I'm sure whatever you do will be amazing…. I know, that was so NOT helpful. (Irish Cream…there, is that better.) 😀
OK-
I am new here, but my vote is Sea Salt.
I have Cosmos blue walls in our master bedroom with white bedding and it is AMAZING.
Have fun,
Laura
I vote for Sea Salt because you have so many tans in your fabrics, I think the blue on the walls would look great. That will be a great neutral color that will look good if you decide to change you focus color on down the road. I can't wait to see the outcome. Good luck
How fun! I love fabric. I vote for the Irish Cream and accents of aqua on furniture! Looking forward to seeing what you choose. Happy New Year.
I can pick a color in anyone else's house except my own! It's the worst!
I vote for the sea salt. I am in the same boat. I've painted my bedroom 3 times in the last year and maybe going for a 4th.
I think Sea Salt would look very nice. Beautiful choice of fabrics, too. 🙂
I love the Sea Salt! And I love your fabric choices. Our master is next on the list of rooms to do…. You've got me really excited and motivated to finish the bathroom!
How funny, I just painted my family room Spare White and the Sea Salt. Love it! Very calming. Check out my blog for a couple of small peaks at it with more to come. I have taupe walls in my bedroom and I love that too. It's easy to change up the color scheme, but I've had the navy with it for quite awhile.
I vote for Sea Salt. I love all color! and u already have Irish Cream in your bathroom!
I say take a chance on the Sea Salt….you can always paint for the 6th time…if you get tired of it. 🙂
I love the sea salt. It is a beautiful color and I agree the ironstone will look fabulous with it. You have a lot of warmth in the beautiful fabrics you've chosen, and the sea salt will make it pop rather than blend. Just an opinion, but you can't go wrong with either. Good luck!
definitely the sea salt… with all the warm tones of the fabrics in the foreground, the background will complement nicely in the cooler tones. I think the irish cream will make your whole room too tan.
I love the sea salt, so pretty

One good point has already been made here and that is you are a person who needs to change it up frequently. After reading your blog for the first time, I knew you were an incredibly talented artist. So, with those things in mind, I suggest you do the Irish Cream for the full walls and do something really cool with the Sea Salt. You have lots of diamond patterning in your fabrics so why not do a smaller scale harlequin pattern with the Sea Salt as a "border" or a larger diamond pattern on one wall or something along the lines of what you did in the shop? This way, you still have the neutral backround (which tones in with you bathroom- bonus for ease of transition from room to room there!) and you can change out or paint over the decorative painting if you get tired of it or change your bedding or whatever later on.
I think I like the Sea Salt – but I am your Mom and what do I know. I lost out on the handles on the coffee table – however I did pick a winner on the red plates in the living room :). I am just glad I don't have to paint it :).
Mom
SEA SALT! You could always have a shade darker of the aqua for furniture pieces, so DONT be afraid of the color on the walls- our bedroom is blue, with white bedding- I love it! Ill post pics this week….
my vote is for sea salt! smiles.
I think that you should go with Sea Salt. The Irish Cream is pretty but will wash out your other beautiful colors. The sea salt will make your other blues stand out. I've always liked blues for bedrooms. LOVE the fabric you've chosen…I'm jealous! I can never really get too creative with decorating because we are a military family and are either renting or keeping future buyers in mind =( Once we are done moving, I can't WAIT to start sewing & decorating.
Whoa, I have all the same fabrics and trims in my bathroom! LOVE Hob Lob's upholstery fabric line 🙂
I think I'd go with the Sea Salt, knowing your love of blue-ish and soft white colors.
My vote is seasalt, can't wait to see the room. Get to sewing!!!
Sea Salt is a popular color used a lot but I like the Irish Creme as well for continuity with your bathroom. My daughter's bedroom in her home is done in browns and aquas and it is gorgeous. Her entire house is painted Latte and looks great with those colors. I love the fabrics you've chosen.
I'm stuck about what to do in my bedroom as well (colors, etc). Last year I ordered an upholstered headboard from Ballards in creamy pintuck but it's hard to use white with it as it comes off yellowish. So for now, I'm doing nothing. I had the walls painted Sandy Hook Grey but HATE it so wall color has become an issue. I'm hoping I can make that room come together soon!
Good luck with your choice, I'm sure it will be pretty.

I have to tell you that I love both of them. I have something similar to the Sea Salt in my own master. Do you love the Irish Cream in the bathroom?
I love all the fabrics and trims you chose ~ just beautiful! Which fabric will be the biggest expanse? Maybe you could use that to guide you. If the drapes or a comforter have more of the beige/brown maybe then the Sea Salt; but if it's vice versa than maybe the Irish Cream.
And, of course, what I always tell my clients ~ getting a swatch on the wall might help so you can see how the light hits it.
My vote is the sea salt – I love it!
I think the sea salt would be amazing with those fabrics…. I know you'll make it spectacular no matter what you do!
The Sea Salt was my pick, too.
So very pretty. 🙂
Anne
I vote for the Irish Cream & not 'cus I ♥ the drink, either! LOL
It looks warmer to me..more cozy. The sea salt seems to drain the colors from the others. You might also have a tough time matching it down the road….too trendy for a timeless look. Of course, the way you like to switch things around that may not be a problem. LOL
Good luck with your choice, either way. I adore the fabrics you've chosen. 🙂
Love the Sea Salt, it makes for a wonderful combination with the neutral beige! I just love your fabric choices, Beautiful and restful! Hope you had a wonderful Christmas!
Debra
I like sea salt.
It's a nice contrast to the tans.
I agree that your ironstone will really pop against the blue grey.
I think you should paint the walls in the cream AND then paint your ceiling in the sea salt blue… a grey blue ceiling is breathtaking. I did my bath with a blue ceiling and now I want to do my bedroom too. So let me live vicariously through you, K?! No pressure but I will be so very happy if you do it first and then I can do it when I get time… like ten years from now, snicker!
Definitely the Sea Salt!
I would go for the cream color. I also like the idea of painting the ceiling in the blue.
What direction does your room face? I have a blue color on the walls in the playroom and dining room, which face North, and I am always trying to warm up those spaces – the blue looks great but definitely has a "cool" feeling.
Can't wait to see what you choose!
Danielle
Dawn, That is an option I was thinking about. I saw it in a BHG magazine a few months ago and just loved it. That would mean buying 2-3 gallons of paint instead of one, though. Ugh…so hard to decide. I like both of them.
The fabrics are gorgeous. I love the toile!
The fabrics are just fab. Either would look great but my two cents go for the sea salt. I think it would make the perfect relaxing contrast to the fabrics for a bedroom where we should all throw off our shoes and go ahhhhh! But what does an Ozarks farm chick know about decorating????
Have a super day filled with fun planning!!!
Wow…what beautiful fabrics! I love the color palette and I'll be anxious to see how it comes together! My vote is for sea salt. But I'm probably the wrong person to ask; we've painted the nursery 6x in the past three years. Good luck! ~Lisa
I think the comfort gray or if you decide to change the bedding occasionally then I would choose Bittersweet Stem. I can't wait to see the finished product1
I really like the idea of using both colors–maybe 2 walls of each? However, if you look at the wall in the background of the pic with the bedding, it looks like a darker shade of your irish creme? Hope that helps!
Amy
I know this might sound a tad bit shocking for some but….what about painting the head of the bed wall BLUE and the rest of the walls the creamie color. I for one love it!! I think the accent wall idea can be rather hip and very chic!! If you hate it you only have ONE wall to re-paint!!
I personally love "taramind". It's so warm and cozy. Things that you put on your walls will really pop with it.
Sea Salt for sure! My bedroom is painted that color and I love it. It's so soothing and serene. The rest of my house is total neutrals, but I adore the color of my bedroom!
Honestly I would go with the Sea Salt. I have the same color palette in my master and that is what I am probably going to go with. As far as the Irish Cream being more neutral, well, if you have already painted the room 5 times in three years don't you think you would probably be willing to just paint again?! Love your blog, you are giving me some awesome ideas!
I go for the Sea Salt
