A few years ago I was browsing through a new Goodwill near my old home in Virginia. As I snooped through the shelves, I spotted the usual thrift store garb – 1970’s dishes, floral vases, enormous brass lamps with dust-covered shades, you know what I’m talking about. I spotted a bin with some plastic fruit in it and thought I’d see if there were any realistic looking pears or lemons that would be worth buying. To my surprise, I saw this…

I am posting this to Frugalicious Fridays over at Finding Fabulous.

Wow, what a great find on the fruit ! The nursery is going to be so pretty.
That mural will look great on pink walls ~ can't wait to see that! I guess they didn't know what they had with that stone fruit. Good for you though!
Can't wait to see the nursery and by the way I love the blue basket with the quilts in it!
Beautiful fruit. You scored big there. I bought some plastic and papier mache fruit at GW, but nothing as nice as what you have.
I've never seen stone fruit, but it sure looks realistic! Boy, did you get a good steal!
That was a wonderful find with the stone fruit. You have a rare treasure.
That piece of furniture that you are painting (desk?) is such a lovely color! Can't wait to see the finished product!

And I'll be excited about that slipcover tute…I've made a few, but I need to learn some more techniques. I have a double rocker awaiting new digs :o)

The fruit is gorgeous, what a find. I have never seen any, but would love to get my hands on some. And I like the price you paid, instead of $60! can't wait to see the mural, pink and brown will be so sweet.

I totally second Jane's comment.
And I just learned there's stone fruit out there! Although I didn't even know about them a minute ago, now I must have them! What a steal!!
If I lived any closer to you I'd carry your paint just so I could watch you mural. (and sneak in a stroke or 7)

Don't know how, but I just ambled here and am so glad I did. I can't wait to browse and see what I have been missing! The stone fruit is beautiful!
The fruit find is amazing! I think I have ripped out that PBK photo a dozen times – I just love that room. I can't wait to see how the mural turns out.

I love the nursery mural! I've been dreaming of a very similar thing for our baby that is still a dream too. 🙂
OK. I visit a lot of blogs, and I read about many, many wonderful finds – but yours takes the cake! The stone fruit is gorgeous.
As always, it is a pleasure to visit your beautiful blog!
Enjoy your day,

That stone fruit is amazing! It looks so real…beautiful! I also love what you did with the tall fruit tree thingie. I have one I bought a few months ago at a church rumage sale for pennies. I just painted it white but I think I may have to go back ad add some glaze. Yours is beautiful!
Hi! Congrats on such a great find…the fruit is beautiful!!! I love painting murals, have fun with the tree, it will look so cute on pink walls. Can't wait for tomorrow to see you new feature! Just wanted to let you know that I gave you an award over at my blog – check it out if you get a minute, you deserve it!
I am in awe of your talent. So beautiful and clever. I've never heard of stone fruit, but will not keep my eye open for it. Great blog!

I had never heard of stone fruit before, but you got a terrific deal! Lucky girl.
I've never heard of stone fruit…very cool! That is really a fabulous find! Funny when the goodwill people mark items without know their true value. I guess it's true what they say: One person's trash is another person's treasure! Thanks for sharing Marian…I hope your having fun with frugalicious Friday!
