Furniture Feature Friday – A Favorite, A Question and A Link Party

I missed our little get together last week, girls, but I was busy hanging out with Paul Baloche.  I really enjoyed looking through the links, though, and there were a lot of beautiful pieces as always.  There was one that knocked my socks off and she’s been featured here before…
Ann Marie from Twice Lovely and her hand painted bench made out of end tables and a head board.

Can you believe how gorgeous this bench turned out?  I love the simple branch detail on the back, the color, and the way all of these off cast pieces of furniture work together.  I was truly wowed.  Wonderful job, Ann Marie.

So, here’s my question.  There are blog parties ALL OVER THE PLACE now.  Is this one worth having?  It’s a lot of work to host and I want to make sure that it’s being enjoyed by those attending.  I’m making one small change to keep this party a little more intimate.  It will be open from Thursday at 10pm EST through Friday at midnight PST.  I’m cutting out Saturday all together, so make sure you get your link in by Friday.

One last thing.  I did delete several craft posts last week, but didn’t get them all.  You party crashers know who you are..  If you just have to link up somewhere, go to Saturday Night Special at Funky Junk Interiors tomorrow.  Ok?   This party is just for furniture.

Here are the rules for this get together…

1.) Your post has to be about furniture.  Please, please, please…just furniture.  If you find your link has been deleted, it’s not because I’m mean, it’s because your post was not about furniture.  You can share makeovers, awesome finds, favorite pieces, furniture arrangements, or even pieces on your wish list!  Built-in furniture like kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanities qualify as furniture.
2.) Post a permalink, not the link to your blog.
3.) The link party closes Friday at midnight PST and I will choose my favorite(s) and feature their project on next week’s FFF.

  1. I love your party and hope you continue it. And you are right. There are parties popping up all over the place!!

  2. This party is one of my favorite's as I paint furniture as well and love to see all the ideas people come up with. I wish more parties were a little more specific, because sometimes it is hard to sift through all the links to get to the ones I know I will use. Here, I know I can use everything people link up.

  3. First, thanks so much for the feature!! I'm honored. I must give credit to my partner Cara, as well. It was a 50/50 collaboration on the bench project.

I must agree, as well with the ladies above. This is my favorite bloggy party, since we do furniture as well. Because it's more specific, it's already more intimate than the mega parties, and everything's always so inspirational! Hope you keep it up. 🙂

  4. I love your blog party and I agree, they need to be a little more specific. I need to make the one I host a bit more focused. Thanks for hosting!

  5. I love your party! It is also specific to furniture which I like. It makes it easy to find ideas for things I am working on(or staring at wishing I could work on them). I do hope to be able to actually finish a project so I can link up soon!

  6. I love your party and that it's specific. I haven't linked up yet, but intend to…someday, so please keep them up! I like linky parties, but not when there's so much varied content that it's a crapshoot finding something of interest to you, ya know?

Thanks for hosting and for all the work you put into your blog – I love it!

  7. The only comment I have, is that even though I don't have a huge amount of blogs on my reading list, I have seen pretty much all of these projects already, posted elsewhere. (I have to admit that I have posted my project elsewhere too!) So I wonder if your time and effort is wasted by allowing people to post projects that have already been posted somewhere else?

  8. This is one of the few "linky" parties that I read every week. I am amazed at so many of the transformations. Thankfully with the thumbnail photos now I can choose only the furniture links as opposed to folks who don't read directions very well and link up willy nilly.

  9. The legs on that bench are quite unusual. You did a great job as usual. I enjoy the link party, but I can imagine it is a log of work. Perhaps you could do it once a month or biweekly?

  10. I love your furniture party! And like others have said, it's so nice to have one that's just all about furniture 🙂 But maybe Chania's right….bi-weekly or month would be fun too 🙂 And take some of the pressure off you!

Thanks for hosting again this week….I can see that there are so many amazing projects already!

  11. This is my favorite link party please don't discontinue it! I love that it's furniture only, even though I do enjoy crafts, it's the furniture projects that I'm really interested in. Perhaps like others suggested you could do it less often, maybe every other week or once a month?

  12. Your furniture party is one of my favs. I haven’t participated yet, as I’m still settling in after moving and don’t have any afters yet, just lots of befores. I like the idea of your party being just about furniture. Perhaps during the spring/summer/fall months the party could be less frequent as people are busy with outdoor activities. Like driving to all the yardsales & hanging out at auctions all day. 🙂 How do you ladies find time to redo all these great projects?

  13. What a bunch of creative people on our planet!
    Wow!
I am blown away- I think I will be here awhile!
Thank you so much for hosting this party today!!
Blessings from my home to yours!

  14. Now i am worried I posted a craft last week… I hope I didn't. I try to make sure it is furniture. I hope the wall mirror counts…

Keep it going, if you want to, that is what is most important!

  15. This is my favorite link party to join and to look at, since everything is furniture. I don't really care for crafts, as I'm not a crafty person. But I love seeing everyone's creativity when it comes to re-finishing furniture. I get ideas, inspiration, and in general just admire everything that's posted. Please Please don't stop, if you do I just might have to take over hosting a furniture only party.

  16. I sure hope you keep doing it! I just linked up for the first time! I have loved looking at all the pieces of great furniture and I finally got around to participating. I just hope I did it right! Thanks for hosting!

  17. this is my first time linking up to your party as i havent posted much furniture re-dos on my blog (i am a newbie!) even though furniture is what i love the most!

But i am loving all the links i am seeing and will be back later today to go and check them out!

Thanks, have a good weekend 🙂

  18. Hope you know how much I love your blog…this is my first attempt at painting anything "whimsical", and it's on a wooden cabinet, so I hope I qualify. Keep up the wonderful blogging that we all come back to read…and see!!!

  19. I do love your party but understand the time issue. Perhaps limit it to a certain number to keep the time manageable. I know I would understand.

  20. i'm very sorry about the entry of the linen cupboard…i'm still VERY new at this and don't know how to change it to the post it's on. love the bench!

  21. I love that you only include furniture posts in your party. It keeps it more interesting for those of us that are mostly attracted to furniture.
However, I can see where it is a ton of work for you to host this, knowing you go to each entry and comment on it. That must be a huge investment of time. Honestly I don't know how you manage! Every other week would probably work out well for most of us, especially if you co-ordinated the schedule with another party I'm betting most of us love (FJI). Yours and Donna's are my favorites. If you took turns it would still give something to look forward to each week! Just a thought…..
    Rose

  22. i just found your blog today and i have to tell you that i LOVE LOVE LOVE that your links are only about furniture. i love that there are onlt 60-some-odd link ups when i arrived to add mine, although, i'm not sure if i'm too late? i might have misunderstood when the link was closing, but it did aloow me to link up anyway? sorry if i made a mistake:(
it is so easy to look thru a small number of links than to see a daunting 200 or more.
i understand that it's a lot of work. just know that it's my first time here and i am pretty excited!
    xoxo
