I made a trip down to the Walkersville, MD shop today with a van load of stuff I finished and found this week. My booth was pretty cleared out from the grand opening (and a sweet lady who drove from Delaware to buy my crib and a couple of pillows) and I had a blast shopping and painting and sewing and gluing and glittering to fill it up again. Having my own little corner is so fun. Really, I am exhilarated! So, here’s what it looks like now.
This sheet music wreath sold just after I snapped this picture and I have an order for two more!
I found this galvanized two-tiered bin, glass cloche and glass bug trap when I was out and about yesterday.
I have had this wooden tote for years. My husband had actually been using it for tools! The nerve! Antique tool caddies are not for tools, they’re for home decor. Men just don’t get it.
I found this folding chair at a yard sale a few weeks ago. It was a filthy white, so I cleaned it up, painted it and sanded down the blue just enough to expose some white. Most antique folding chairs are rickety, but this one is solid as a rock.
I had a very ordinary “open/close” sign sitting in my office for a while. It was a freebie and I really didn’t know what to do with it, so I finally painted it in chalkboard paint to turn it into a very usable magnetic/chalkboard message board.
The table below was so pretty, but there was something about it that looked dated. A grey paint and distressed finish give it an updated look and relaxed the fussy shape of it.
I’m a sucker for a metal box and will buy one any time I see one at a reasonable price. This is one of my favorites.
I painted this sign using a quirky graphic from The Graphics Fairy…
…and so is this “French wine label” sign above the china cabinet that was plucked from my office.
I LOVE this antique dolly. It was a little hard to put it in the van. It has the warmest wood handles, carved lettering on the sides and it still works! I would love to keep it, but I’m afraid it would become a push toy for my toddlers.
Here’s a look inside the china cabinet. I had a great time making these arrangements.
But, darn it! I forgot to take pictures of my fabric banners. We hung them in the coolest places in the shop and they look amazing. I was focusing on my primary space and I totally forgot about them. Hopefully I can snap a picture of them before they sell. Or, I’ll just have to make more!
Look out for some more announcements coming up in the next few days. I’ll give details about the upcoming glittered letter workshop and I am totally nuts and adding another retail space to my workload! More to come!

The booth looks awesome!!! I can't believe you were able to pull all that together this week. I think I may start calling you "Wonder Daughter". Bursting with pride (is that a sin??? ) MOM
Love love love love LOVE! I can't believe your new stool painted in sea salt didn't sell last weekend. SUCH a cool look! And the "shredded" sheet music… I die. Brilliant!
I totally agree with your Mom. I'll call you Wonder Blog Friend. You've got such a great eye. Congrats. Lori L
Okay. If I stop commenting from now on, it's only because I'm speechless. I still love ya. You are amazing and all your wares are a reflection. I swear, you have a clone. Your efficiency amazes me while I sit here with two more pair of shoes to make. You deserve every bit of success for sure. And, you need to be selling those sheet music cones for a dollar (even though you probably won't)! I'm thrifty and I'd pay a dollar. You can't even buy a pack of gum for 50 cents. 😉
Hugs,
Jami
Everything looks so beautiful. And it sounds like you had a very successful grand opening – Congrats! My kids are going to grandma's tomorrow and I'm thinking about making the trip out to the store…
Sarah
Holy moly – you're adding a another shop? That's awesome! What I like about your space here is that your eye just keeps moving and then I go back to look in more detail at everything. I just love it and I'm so happy for you! Congratulations!
Your little corner of beauty and creativity -so pretty
Okay, now you have to have some employees if you are going to have another space. You need someone to clean, prep and paint the furniture. Then you gussy it up and they apply the polycrylic or wax it. You are going to work yourself into a frenzy.! I am not crazy about glitter letters, butterflies, etc. But I would travel through three states for a sheet music workshop. I would like to make a wreath, and paste stuff on a little box or letter. I have also discovered I am the worst painter EVER. You inspire me. I want that two tiered tin basket thing. And the two goodwill objects. Thanks for sending me the hours of your shop. Ann PS just read all the posts: the sheet music cones are 50 cents? They should be at least 3 for $5.
Your shop looks fantastic and it sounds like you are having so much fun! I especially love the new signs you made.
Hugs, Sherry
It all looks so beautiful! Every time I visit your blog (which is often!) I get so many ideas and such great inspiration!

You are such an inspiration to me and my friend. We just rented our first space and doing pretty good, not like you, but pretty good. We already need a bigger space.
Can't wait to see your next adventure!
Ann,
Yes, I will do a sheet music workshop as well. This is just the first of many, probably monthly events.
I'm adding my compliments to the list above. What a sweet little shop you have and so imprinted with "Miss Mustard Seed!" I love that you have a combination of utilitarian and glitz. It's beautifully styled and not too cluttered so that the eye can move freely. We are all vicariously enjoying this because I am sure, for many of us, this is a dream job!
You are amazing!!! The way you stage everything is so cozy and inviting. I love all of it! Great work!

I couldn't help but notice the large pulley in one of your pictures. I'm just wondering how much you're asking for it.
Everything looks beautiful – but the item that catches my attention the most is the Livery Stables!! It is perfect!
You are amazing to be able to keep up with doing and stocking your shop AND remember to take and post photos for those of us who live vicariously through the wonderful items you create. Thanks for sharing so much!

I love it all. I think I'm going to shred a book for my fall "mantel."
Just out of curiousity, would you post some prices when you post pics like this? I just had a garage sale and made quite a bit of money on some junky furniture that someone bought to paint and sell, and I'm wondering what I could have sold it for if I had painted it first. 🙂
Everything looks gorgeous! Congratulations on all of your sales~ isn't restocking the best part of having a booth?
It all looks so fabulous! I could spend my day in there just looking at all your beautiful pieces!! It sounds like you are doing great!!!
It's wonderful to see what's in the shop at the moment, especially the folding chair and the two-tiered bin. Thanks for sharing all the photos!

2nd retail space?!? When I first read that, I actually had to walk away from the computer and think. I visioned you just as Anne suggested… with employees pumping out your wares. In a warehouse setting. 🙂 You are on the grow, my friend! Enjoy the ride!
You motivate me. Thank-you!
Donna
Fabulous finds! I love the use of the music sheets as decor details!

I love the arrangement of your new space–it must be so fun to have to redo it with new items as they come and go. I'm still waiting to see what you did with that old rocking horse you picked up from the thrift store awhile back.
Beautiful things as usual. Best of luck with the new store(s).
Beautiful! I love how you set everything up, it's so darling. 🙂 Love the music confetti & treats as well! One day soon I hope to make a wreath. 🙂
wow- that china hutch is almost identical to the one I have!!! Mine is a little bit wider in a couple spots, but I love it! That was kinda trippy seeing it's cousin! 🙂
I just received my Farm Bureau pillow! Love it!!! Quick response! I loving many things on your blog site…my creative side says Yeah…my husband shakes his head No!
Thank You, Pat
