furniture feature friday | favorites & link party

Furniture Feature Friday
Good evening, all!  I’m finally back from Toronto and seem to be in more of a routine, since I actually remembered FFF this week AND picked favorites!  I know…high five!  I did get a scolding from a reader a few weeks ago for forgetting about it, but if she walked into my studio, she would understand how I could get a little overly-focused on it and forget other things.  Thanks to Kathleen for picking favorites for me last week while I was away and to all who participate and enjoy the party each week.
Here are the favorites I selected…

I love this entire nursery featured on Custom Slipcovers by Shelley.  She was showcasing her work on sweet ruffle-skirted chair, but the entire room is coming together beautifully.

Of course I love this blue & white living room by Karen of Shabby Sweet Cottage, but the real work of genius is the coffee table.  You’ll never guess what it’s made out of.  I’m going to make you click over to find out…

I had a third piece featured, but the post was removed, so the image wasn’t showing up and the link was dead.  Sorry!
Here are the rules for our furniture get-together…
1.) Your post has to be about furniture. Please, please, please…just furniture. If you find your link has been deleted, it’s not because I’m mean, it’s because your post was not about furniture. You can share makeovers, awesome finds, favorite pieces, furniture arrangements, or even pieces on your wish list! Built-in furniture like kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanities qualify as furniture.
2.) Post a permalink (the link to the post), not the link to your blog.
3.) This party will close Friday at midnight PST and I will choose my favorite(s) and feature their piece(s) on next week’s FFF. Enjoy the party!

  1. Thanks for hosting the party, Marian! We all definitely look forward to seeing all the awesome inspiration that gets linked up here! (Although a scolding is not really called for!!)

  2. Marian, I LOVE your Furniture Feature Friday link party! I check it every. single. week. It’s a great place to get makeover and refurb ideas, plus viewers can see what’s trending in blogland because of the volume of interest shown on your blog by people linking up.

I think the reason why people are so disappointed when you don’t post the party is because your blog is so inspirational and widely read, and people really sit with fingers crossed that one of their projects will get noticed by you and selected as one of MMS FFF Three Big Favorites (as I call it!). To have that kind of MMS recognition is a huge gratification for them, plus it drives people to view their blogs. I’ve found SO MANY blogs to follow from your FFF parties, not just from people who have had projects selected for MMSFFF3BFs by you, but also from the linked projects submitted. This entire link party is inspirational and motivational.

If you find yourself overwhelmed with it, an idea might be to automate (if you can) the posting of the link party, and perhaps to farm out the selection of MMSFFF3BFs to a rotating group of selecters? You could do the first or last Friday of every month, and the remaining Fridays you could have Kathleen and some of the other ladies who’ve covered this feature for you in the past do the selecting. Just an idea!

  3. Marian thanks so much for the feature! I’m so thrilled. Thank you for taking the time out of your very full schedule to host this linky and then taking the time to pick favorites. I appreciate all that you do.

  4. Thank you for your posts….each and every one of them is a gift to us and we should view them that way. I am impressed with your endless energy!

  5. The link for the farmhouse table tutorial does not work, shows an error 404. I tried to search the site, but this project is not listed there.
