100 Followers Giveaway!

We’re over 100 followers, now and I am having my first giveaway. Here’s what it is…

YIKES! Ok, this is what it is now, but this is what it can become…

These are before & after pictures of a bread box I already painted and sold the first day I put it in the shop. I recently found one exactly like it, but have not painted it, yet. Instead of painting it and then giving it away, I want to custom paint it to match the winner’s home. So, it’s just for you!

Here are the rules…

1.) You must be one of my followers. This is a case when being a follower is a good thing.
2.) Leave a comment on this post telling me how you would like this bread box painted. You can give me a link of an inspiration picture (and it doesn’t have to be a bread box) or describe what you would like. You can also look at my portfolio for inspiration.

Think outside the box…it doesn’t even have to be a bread box. How about something for your office to hold mail or supplies, a box for your kid’s art supplies, or a place to store all of those pesky remote controls.

It can be any style…french country, 1950’s retro, sleek & simple (if you want it frost white with a glass knob, that’s ok), classic & monogrammed or funky & colorful. You will be one of my clients and we will work together to make this a perfect piece just for you (or the perfect gift for someone else!)
3.) Comments can be posted until midnight on Friday, September 25. I will then choose and announce a winner! Make sure you leave an e-mail address if you don’t have a blog.

I am so excited about my growing blog and I really appreciate my first 100 followers! I can’t wait to see your ideas…

Hello, what a wonderful giveaway. I am already a follower. It would be tickled pink to win this prize. I am in love with black and white, embossed paper, monograms, etc.
      Love your blog, very fun.

      Connie

    3. Southerner

I am a follower and would love this. I need a bread box desperately. If I win I would like to decide at that time b/c I have no brainpower to make such a big decision right now. It would get my hopes up and then crush them in the dirt. Your things are beautiful.

    4. Julia

Hmm. I think I would like the box to be painted… I'm just not sure! My kitchen (my whole great room) is aqua. I could use a breadbox to hide a massive mess of internet wires that are clogging up my counter top. So my kitchen is aqua with light wooden cabinetry (almost a golden oak color…) and black counter tops. My house can be pretty dark, so I like light and bright. You can see pics of my house on my blog! Thanks for the chance – I love giveaways!

    5. The Little Red Shop

Oh, what fun! I'll be back.

I absolutely am a follower, I check your site daily and you have become an inspiration to me. I love your red bread box, it reminds me of a Dala horse. My daughter spent 6 months in Sweden and brought home a new love of the Swedish folk art painting that I have always loved. I could see so many different ways to display it, in my kitchen, on my desk and it would of course be handed down to my daughter eventually. Thank you for all the information that you share with us. Fran

What a fun giveaway! You rock! And I see you've got 101 as of right now!

Hmmm… I don't know what I'd like, I really like your vanity redo with the blue and white. I'd probably just tell you my favorite colors and let you run with it! 😉

    8. Kathy @ Creative Home Expressions

You did it! Congrats! Great idea to use it in an office or even a craft room. I did a post today on pet beds that I found on Etsy, and I would have to say that I love the pink, black and white one pictured ~ maybe a little green because I like that combo, harlequin or black and white checks. Wow ~ the possibilities are endless for what you could do with this!

    9. Leslie

      Dear Miss Mustard Seed,

I think your breadbox would make a great place to store my sewing essentials. Currently everything is in a shoebox-size white plastic crate-thingy. I have dreams of someday having a dedicated sewing area. Thank you for a great giveaway! Hugs, Leslie

    10. Dresser Girl

      Yippee!!

Ok – I think I would want something french country. I would use it in my bathroom (dressing room area) to hold make-up and stuff. My bathroom is currently a Waverly black toile pattern.

      I hope I win!!

    11. Cathy

I am a follower. I could use a new jewelry box. The colors in my room are rose, green and mustard yellow. I have black wrought iron accents in there. I'm not sure about the design, but those are the colors I'd like. Thanks.

      Cathy

    12. Summer Rae

Well, hello there Miss Mustard Seed. Congrats on the followers! I am just starting and only have two (my mom & bff of course)…I would love to win the breadbox. I am re-vamping my living room to be a 'seaside escape'. I am concentrating on white and light blue, I think this little breadbox would be a great place to hide our remotes on a side table. Thanks for sharing your talents with us all!

    13. Funky Junk Interiors

What an honour it would be to have something you've done up in my home!

I like industrial rustic country. Lots of blacks, woods, white and metal influences in my home.

Love typography, numbers, shabby chic style…

I'd let you wing it and surprise me. 🙂

      Donna

      congrats on your growing numbers!

I have lots of thoughts running through my head. But if I won this, which I hope I do, I would probably use it in the kitchen, where I need it badly. I will paint it either black or red and put a rooster on top. Or I may crackle it. I love french country. I will look on your site for more ideas.

    15. Kristi

I am a new follower and I adore your work. My kitchen is a work in progress and so it hasn't really gotten anywhere yet, but it will! Therefore, I would love the funky folk art look you did on that one piece. Colors — reds, yellows, whites, blues, and whatever design comes to mind. I also love Swedish folk art designs. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

      Kristi

    16. Mary Ellen

Thank you so much for your so sweet comments about my lil ol blog!! Love yours and became a follower too and would love to win this lovely little item you will create. I think this would be great in my kitchen to stash all my supplements and such in- black with pink tole painted roses would be perfect in for me! I have several black tole trays in there and just don't think there's anything prettier then pink roses!!

What a fun giveaway! I've just started trying to paint furniture and you're my inspriation! I still can't get it quite as fancy as you. I'd love to win the giveaway, I became a fan after seeing the blue and white vintage vanity — that's the style I'd choose if I were to win. Love it!

    18. Jane

Hmm, Immediatley when I saw it, I imagined it painted to match my 8 year old daughter's room. I just redid in grape, rose and key lime pie colors. That box would be perfect for all of those little treasures an 8 year old girl collects.

Well hello my friend, I am thrilled to say I am a follower of your talent, and winning this custom painted box would be an honor. I would go for something white, distressed with a lovely quote and a glass knob. It would be used as my keepsake box and would house my dear personal things (pearl earings, my children's first hair clippings, memory stick with all my pics, ect)you get the idea. I see me handing down this special keepsake box to my daughter and hopefully it will become a mother to daugther heirloom piece that will be handed down many generations. It will be handed down along with the history of how it was custom painted by a talented woman, Miss Mustard Seed. Thank you for this wonderful opportunity!!

Congrats on having 100 followers! So exciting; I'm having a giveaway for having 20 followers, so I know how important these milestones are.

I am in love with your bunny mural, and if I won, I would like for you to paint something like that. I lost my bunny of 12-years a week 1/2 ago and I would use this adorable little box to store some of his mementos. It would live in my office/rabbit room which is lavendar/pink and black and white.

      Thank you!
