Perfectly Imperfect

One of the first bloggers I met in real life was Shaunna of Perfectly Imperfect.  I had noticed her painted furniture around the blog world, but a real connection was made when we got to chat at the Blissdom conference in 2011.  I basically learned that I had a non-identical twin living down in Alabama.  We had so much in common and can do that creepy I-know-exactly-what-you’re-thinking-and-can-finish-your-sentence kind of thing and we even use the same deodorant and have the same toothbrush for goodness sake.  It’s pretty funny.

So, I just love it any time we can get together.  We got to spend some great time together rooming together at Haven this year…

…and teaching painting workshops together…

We also got to hang out recently when we were both vendors at The Chapel Market.  We went out to dinner with our husbands and there’s a bit of a “bromance” going on there as well…

Anyway, here are some pictures of her amazing space at The Chapel Market a couple of weeks ago…

I was totally in love with these tea towels and kept walking by to pet them.  I just love beautiful textiles.

I was also totally into this pillow and meant to snap it up before the doors open, but I didn’t and I missed out.  Someone out there has MY pillow, just so you know!

Did you know that Shaunna not only has a beautiful shop in Troy, Alabama, but she also sells her wares in The Perfectly Imperfect Online Shop.  They carry a variety of home decor items from Dash & Albert throws, bags and rugs…

..to amazing quilts made out of vintage fabrics

…and home accessories like lanterns, candles, papers, this cute metal clip holder

…and some things that are just fun like pretty cleaners and these wooden toothbrushes

As you can see, the shop is full of all kinds of goodness and I wanted to share it with you.  You can also learn more about Shaunna on her blog, Perfectly Imperfect.  She is an amazing designer, furniture artist and oh, by the way, has a book in the works!

Isn’t the blog world full of awesome people?

  1. Marian, thanks so much for all the inspiration I’ve gotten from you. I do have a question that I can’t find has been answered, about the use of hemp oil. I have a very old and dried out oak table. It was either stripped or the finish has just worn off thru years of neglect. I’m wondering if I should apply some hemp oil to it before I paint with your milk paint, or paint right over the dried out wood?

    Thanks so much.

  2. Funny, I own a couple of these things already. Glad to know I must have good taste, too!

  3. Love Shaunna’s blog and her shop is gorgeous. You two are just too cute! (But the deodorant/toothbrush thing is a little creepy!) 😉

  4. OK, so this is a blog/shop that I am completely not thrilled you showed it off…I LOVE that! Had to add it to the blog list…

  5. Thanks for highlight Shaunna. I’m a reader of her blog as well. Indeed it’s a great world here in the blogosphere. So many talented people and so many people willing to celebrate one another.

  6. Don’t you love finding someone like that? A friend & I went to lunch recently, after several months of not seeing each other. We both dug in our purses for our phones to put them conveniently on the table, and they were the same smart phone with the same Otterbox. We were laughing so hard I think the waiter thought we were on drugs! Fun.

  7. Awesome pictures (now how do we get both of you to come to north Texas?). If I wish upon a star?
