Lucketts leftover sale this week

I have received a bunch of e-mails and comments asking about the fate of the leftovers from Lucketts.  As we did last year, we will list them all in the online shop, so readers who aren’t local and have a crack at purchasing some of the pieces I’ve shared on my blog over the past few weeks.

So, what’s left?  I took the week off, but I did sneak over to the studio this weekend to get some pictures of the leftovers.

There are a few pieces of furniture left, including the hemp oiled antique dresser

…the stepback hutch

…the counter height farm table, “legless buffet“, and some other smaller pieces of furniture like the cane high chair, stools, etc.

And we actually still have a nice amount of ironstone, antique flatware…

…jars, cloches, bowls, rag balls, linens, spools of baker’s twine and braided jute trim, brushes, jelly jars, mason jars…

…rolls of grain sack, several hemp sheets…

…scissors, garden shears, boxwood topiaries, and more, including our new t-shirts and look books.  The fact that it rained on Saturday was good news for online shoppers!

We’re going to start the process of photographing and listing the pieces tomorrow and will set a launch date and time, so that everyone can have a chance to buy what they want.  I’ll let you know more details, but I’m hoping the sale can go live by Thursday.

And speaking of online sales, I’ve really shied away from selling too much online.  I honestly hate dealing with the logistics of all of it…the inventory, shipping, exchanges, returns, damages, missing packages, etc.  It just drains me and, on occasion, makes me want to crawl into a hole.  But, it’s time to do more of that, so I’ve been developing some ideas to bring my finds and creations to more of my readers and to keep it fun and creative for me.  It’s some pretty exciting stuff and I’ll share it with you as soon as things progress a little further.  I will say that I think readers and shoppers alike will really enjoy it.

More on that soon…

  1. I’m sorry to hear about the rain, but I’m excited about all the goodies you’re adding to the online shop! I can understand the headache of it all though. So do you mostly sell at antique shows & flea markets? Do you happen to have a schedule of what shows you attend? I’m on the hunt for some good shows in the midwest.
Thanks, Marian! Hope you had a wonderful holiday weekend!

  2. Miss Mustard Seed drone delivery perhaps? Would be exciting for all! Always a fan of your adventures!

  3. I m in shock that those sweet linens with the blue embroidered flowers didn’t sell! I’ll be waiting for the exact moment of the launch so I don’t miss those!!

  4. Woohoo – that is going to be one crazy sale 🙂 I am really looking forward to hearing about your future plans for products. I soooo understand the off-putting aspect of shipping, prepping, returns, etc. I see so many great items at estate sales, but the thought of everything it takes to get that item to the buyer makes me stop before I even start. Hope there are some look book twos left!

  5. I walked through the second time (after standing in line with my first purchases) and saw other things I wanted, just couldn’t stand in line again, needed to get home and pack for vacation. But I see some things that I wanted…your mother checked me out, she is soooo sweet.

  6. If you need any help dealing with logistics I’m your girl! Give me a holler, I’d be glad to lend a hand.

  7. It’s great news for us who live too far away to make it to Lucketts. I’m excited to see what, exactly, will be available!

  8. Lucketts 2016, the year you have so much leftover and it’s terrible timing for me. My family is going on a med cruise and I’m saving for shopping in France but I see so many things that I would like. I can’t believe the cream colored coverlet/bedspread did not get snatched up or that laundry basket. They are beautiful. You have such an eye for pretty things. Good luck with the on line sale, I’m sure everything will be sold in a day.

  9. I’ve been eying that blue stoneware (?) bowl, it’s a perfect match to one I have in another size. I’m hoping I can buy it! I live in CA, don’t open the sale too early or I’ll be asleep, LOL!

  10. Woo hoo! Can’t wait to see what you have in the near and long term future!!

  11. Hi Marian,
What about the framed picture about the antique bed? Is that for sale?

  12. I don’t suppose the yellow handled flatware is for sale? I love the hutch, I just wish it was in blue like one of the others that you have done

  13. I can’t wait!! I understand about the shipping part, I don’t like that either. I don’t mind the smalls but furniture is hard, can’t wait to hear what you have in mind.

  14. I hope that this future endeavor involves the hiring of someone to take care of the online shop for you, so you personally don’t have to deal with packing, shipping, returns, etc. That can be a huge time and creativity sucker. We had a catalog for ten years, so I do know all about that sort of thing!!

  15. So at this time Can I or not buy from the shop…I really want to. being an on line seller..I totally understand. thanks for all of the above images and captions. I just love you.

    1. We are listing the items as “hidden” right now and will have them go live all at the same time. I’ll announce that day and time, so shoppers can be ready! 🙂 And thanks for the love!

  16. I have gone online several times to purchase from the shop, only to find nothing (meaning all is sold out except for t-shirts, etc.,) there to purchase. I am hoping to be able to log in and actually be able to purchase some things that I would like. Is there something I am missing? Does the site hold you back if it’s too busy? Can it handle the volume or what happens if it’s overwhelmed? Also, if you put things in your cart and continue to shop are they safe in there until you are ready to check out? I haven’t had any issues other than your site, so I am just trying to get the scoop!

    Thanks!
    Cathy

    1. No, you’re not doing anything wrong. It’s just that when I list pieces, they sell so fast, that they aren’t listed for very long, so what’s left is things we have lots of, like look books and brushes. The shop is set up to handle the volume, but we will be updating it again in a few months. It can definitely be better!

  17. Where will we find you on line?
    Will u accept credit cards?
What service will u use for shipping?
Just a few questions but looking forward too buying.
    Thankd

    1. You can buy through my online shop, which is listed under the MMS products menu, but I’ll link to it from my post tonight. Yes, you can pay via credit card or PayPal account. I use USPS for shipping.

  18. I can’t wait for the big sale !! Miss Lucketts again because Sunday was rained out but I’m lucky to be local to you 🙂 So no worry about shipping !!

  19. I’d like to know what the item is that is in the 4rth picture down and on the 4rth shelf of that unit on the left end (it’s blue and I can’t see it well enough to be sure of what it is.) Thanks.

  20. Love & would like to see if the 3 white pieces are still around to purchase in the white piece of wood furniture ! & also loved the 2 large whit pitchers
