in my element

It was time to get some updated portraits for my blog and social media pages as well as some shots of me with my milk paint products for the MMSMP website and the look book we’re working on.  The last time I had portraits done, I met the photographer at Lucketts.  It gave us a lot of different backdrops, but I’ve always wanted to have pictures taken in my house.  In my element.  Jody, the amazing lady who did my last portraits, wasn’t available this time, so I worked with another photographer I met through Lucketts.  Eddie of Jalapeno Photography has shopped my booth at the Lucketts Spring Antique Market for a few years, so she was the first one who came to mind to ask.

She came out a couple of weeks ago and took some pictures of me painting a piano stool…

…some of me around my house…

…some at one of the beautiful barns in Gettysburg…

…and we took some shots that were more about the colors and products in my line, but still had me modeling them.  I’d rather not be the model, but I know it’s important for people to see me with my brand.  Someone pointed that out to me a couple of months ago and it was sort of a “duh” moment.

Anyway, I’m really happy with how the pictures turned out and Eddie was awesome to work with.

  8. Great photos! I must admit that you have made me totally crazy about the color blue. It is so beautiful in your home and it photographs so well. It always looks fresh. I think you need a color in your product line called “Marion Blue”.

  9. Blue is my favorite color. Seeing it all around your house makes me happy, happy happy and want to cover my house with blue as well.

  10. Marian,
I agree with everyone about how stunning you are and how beautiful are the photos!
My favorite is the one where you are leaning against the barn.

On another note, can anyone tell me how to get the quilt block icons that many of you have posted by your comments? Thanks!

    1. Becky — I think the quilt block happens automatically on Marian’s site if you don’t have your own gravatar linked somehow. You even got one — at least on MY screen!

  11. Ditto what everyone else said. Now, you have the best drop cloth I have ever seen! Is it from Decor Steals ?

your healthy eating & exercising regiment looks great on you! Your pics are absolutely stunning!

  19. You look terrific. I know you have worked hard at your fitness and recently a stylish fashion reboot. The big take away here is the great effort you put in to it. It deserves a big congrats! Gotta say though, you’re freaking me out a little painting on your dining table wearing new duds 🙂

  20. Your cuteness factor is way off the charts! I am always blown away that you never have paint on you!

  21. The photographs really did turn out beautifullly and I think it’s cool to see the creator of the product with the actual product itself. For someone like me, it makes it more personable and I’m more apt to buy it, because I can see the actual face behind the product 🙂 Have a great week 🙂 Love and hugs from the ocean shores of California, Heather 🙂

  22. Love all the pics and, of course, all of your work! But I want to know where you got those great boots!!! Seriously! Keep up the amazing work!

  40. Hi Marian – Love the photos. How fabulous you look. I need a makeover…badly! I saved one of your pics to show my hairdresser. I love my salon – but they never want to cut my hair short…so I have to show them your pic. My hair is finer and straighter – but I have a lot of it. Hopefully mine will look almost as good as yours.

Great pictures – if only we always looked good when we are painting!!

    Linda

  41. Love your makeover! You seem to be very comfortable with the new you and you wear it well. My hair is like your old style and I have thought about getting my hair cut shorter. You are so cute with your new style. Lovin’ the look gurl!
