The Feature:

This week, I have such a great furniture find, I decided to feature myself. In addition, I’ve been super busy and have not had a lot of time to look around the blog world for some great furniture pieces. My mom and I found this table a few days ago at a Salvation Army in Richmond. It was marked $49, which was a little high for us. As we were admiring it, a sales representative mentioned that it was 50% off of green tagged items, plus an extra 10% if we took it home with us. Bottom line, we ended up getting the piece for $18! I’m going to paint the base of it and add some glass knobs, but I love it and had to share.

I love the patina on the cracked wood top. Paint will not touch this surface, I promise.

The base will be painted a white and antiqued to bring out the carving. I think the knobs look a little “south west.” My mom wants me to keep them as is…what do you think? Glass or rings?

This rustic table also has an elegant quality in the claw and ball feet. What a great piece at a great price.

The Giveaway:

This is the absolute best kind of prize…you get to pick whatever tickles your fancy! Kim from My Domestic Bliss is offering up a $25 gift certificate to be used at her Etsy store, Larkspur Interiors. She currently has all kinds of wonderful vintage pieces for sale at incredible prices, including this silver plated, enamel lined sugar & creamer set…

(I own almost this exact set and I paid more than she is charging.) She also has some beautiful lamps and sconces like this pair.
Please check out Kim’s shop and her blog. She is a delightful person and has a romantic and timeless style that you will all enjoy. Thanks, Kim, for offering such a generous giveaway.

The Party:

So, onto the link party! I am ready to by wowed! Here are the rules.

1.) Your post has to be about furniture or home furnishings (this includes accessories & holiday decor.) You can share makeovers, thrifty finds, favorite furniture pieces, or great arrangements.
2.) Post a permalink, not the link to your blog.
3.) The link party closes Friday at midnight PST and I will choose my favorite to win the $25 gift certificate from Kim

I haven't had a chance to get by for a while so I had some catching up to do but oh WOWSERS! I'm so glad I didn't miss this beautiful table! I am swooning here. I wish I could find a dining table with a great top like that for my new breakfast room. I'm excited to see this piece after you have put your magic touch to it. BTW, I think the original pulls would be okay if they were painted but I lean more toward glass.

    2. Traci@ Beneath My Heart

Oh, I love that table. I would have snapped that up in a heartbeat too. I know you will make it look even better! I like the hardware on there, but I do think the glass knobs would be charming too. I'm sure you will be able to tell what looks best when you are finished. Can't wait to see it.
I soooo wish I had some furniture to share this week, but I'm knee-deep in Christmas crafts.
I will stop by tomorrow to see what others have to share.
      Blessings,
      Traci

$18 for that coffee table?!! WOW – you are one very lucky gal. I think I would go with the glass knobs mostly because I just love glass knobs!

    6. Gail

Oh, I do love that table. I know when you're done with it it will be completely transformed. I can't wait to see it done.

      Have a wonderful weekend.

Excellent find! Love the table as is, but I'm also looking forward to seeing it with your excellent touches!… Dee Dee

I vote glass! The lines of that thing are so cute & feminine that glass would top it off perfectly!

    9. Sarah @ Hennessey House

I must admit I'm a little saddened that only half of these links are actual FURNITURE projects. 🙁 I feel like Kimba's DIY day is becomming so much about little diy craft projects that I really look forward to your furniture link party every week. I know, what can ya do?

Anyway, that's an awesome steal of a table and I can't wait to see what you do with it!

    10. Funky Junk Interiors

Ok, I had nothing furniture wise to add this week, so I threw in my tree. Ho hum. Sorry.

Sarah, fwiw, I too love the fact that this is slated a furniture link party. Problem is, if you don't decorate furniture to resell, you simply run out of furniture to putz around on. And the creations take longer than a quicky craft.

I'll be adding some of my new creation ideas here on a reg basis as soon as this Christmas deal is over. Just sooo much to do. My cookie batter has been sitting in my fridge for a week. Yikes. I think the furniture rehabs will increase when the busy-ness of the season diminishes.

LOVE FFF! Thanks for hosting again, Miss Mustard Seed!

    11. Lisa @ Fern Creek Cottage

That table is a great find! It's already pretty, but I'm sure it will look stunning when you are through with it! BTW, the knobs have to go(sorry Miss M.S.'s mother).
I keep looking at some furniture in my garage and saying to myself "you've got to fix that up so you can go to Miss Mustard Seeds party!" Hopefully I'll get to it in the new year!

    12. Sarah @ Hennessey House

FJI – No, I totally understand. Furniture projects do, indeed, (normally) take so much more time, materials, and expense. But there are SOOO many other link parties out there right now that it shouldn't be such a big deal to miss out on linking here when the project isn't furniture-related. That's all I'm saying. No hard feelings meant, it's just I really, really, REALLY love furniture redo posts and love to hear about the products people use and love checking out before/after photos, to give inspiration and ideas. Smaller crafty DIY projects are fantastic, but like I said, there are tons of other places to share these smaller-scale things. That's all. I don't mean to step on anyone's toes.
