I woke up this morning (snuggled under my duvet, lingering as long as I could), planning to work on more custom ornament orders and getting a lot of things checked off my to do list. Plans changed. My hot glue gun has been cold all day and not one piece of sheet music has been cut or rolled. I have needed a new phone for months, now, maybe over a year and today we set out to buy one. Well, that turned into the decision to switch carriers and a wild goose chase to track down the phones we wanted. All of this ended with me getting a new iPhone and spending all of my evening playing with the new gadget. I’m setting myself up to Tweet, post, e-mail and all of that good stuff on it, but I am pretty overwhelmed at the technology. I’m computer savvy, but this is an entirely different animal. So, any tips? Any fabulous apps I must try?
Now, on to the party. I decided this week to pick two favorites. They are favorites for a pretty obvious reason. These pieces are almost dead ringers for projects I did myself! Great minds think alike, don’t they?
Of course, I love these chairs painted and slipped by Jenni from House of White. Not only are the chairs lovely, but her photography is, too. To compare: here are her chairs…
…and here are mine. Well, they were mine until I sold them, but I’m working on my new ones right now.
My second favorite is by Cori of Starview Sonnet. She transformed this dresser with sheet music and white paint. I love how it turned out and I’m sure it will sell quickly. To compare again: here’s her dresser…
…and here’s mine. Twins, right?
So, whether an idea was inspired by my blog or a makeover was completed by a kindred DIY spirit, I enjoy seeing the same idea executed by another pair of hands.
Now, I’m off to work on my ornaments. (And maybe play with my new gadget a little more.)
Here are the rules for this get together…
1.) Your post has to be about furniture. Please, please, please…just furniture. If you find your link has been deleted, it’s not because I’m mean, it’s because your post was not about furniture. You can share makeovers, awesome finds, favorite pieces, furniture arrangements, or even pieces on your wish list! Built-in furniture like kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanities qualify as furniture.
2.) Post a permalink (the link to the post), not the link to your blog.
3.) The link party closes Friday at midnight PST and I will choose my favorite(s) and feature their project on next week’s FFF.

Once you link up, click HERE to vote for my SOS True Value entry. Friday is the final day of voting, so please make one last effort to spread the word!

I didn't mean to link up my Christmas Tree! I'm so sorry!!! I can't delete it now either.
The sheet music dressers are my favorite! Just love them! Thanks for hosting and can't wait to see more of those sheet music ornaments!
Have a wonderful night!

Sorry for the double link! I can't delete it and I clicked on the wrong title. So embarrassing! Thanks for hosting anyway! I promise not to screw up next time!
Great picks, they are so "Miss Mustard Seed"~LOL. Thanks for hosting today. I have an Ipad and I think it is glorious, have fun figuring out your new toy!
Love, love, love your work. The sheet music dresser is for sure a favorite. I can't wait to see what you do for Christmas, I'm hoping for some great ideas:)
I linked up my laundry bin hoping it will be eligible for your party. I don't often get to link and I thought you might like to see this one, it has a link to your drop cloth tutorial in it!
It's probably iffy, so I totally will understand if you delete it.
Thanks for hosting, Marian!
As always, I just love your work, there's a reason people like me copy what you do, it's just so inspiring!
Well now, congrats on the new toy!
I've had my iphone for awhile now and generally just use it for a (gasp!) PHONE. 🙂 My son thinks I'm the lamest ever. I just don't want him on it with all the apps HE desires me to get!
One main reason I wanted it was to shop for clients. I wanted the option to take a pic of something and email it to verify if it's what they were after. I've yet to figure THAT out.
FYI, the battery runs low pretty quick. Best to get a charger for the house AND vehicle. You'll need it if you go online.
Have fun! And I LOVE the features shown. They are amazing!

I love both of the projects that you have featured. Such clever ladies, am off to visit their blogs. Thank you as always for hosting such a fabulous linky party ~ Tina x
The chair and dresser do look similar to yours. They are both very well done!!! Love her chair!!
And congrats on your new toy! I got a new toy as well. A Droid! Love it but it has so many new features that I decided to take a class with Verizon to learn how to use it! Ha!!
Hugs

Did you ever come upon a blog and wonder how you got there? That's what happened to me with your blog, and I'm so glad I have arrived. I have a thing for furniture… well, I've tried to restrain myself because you can only have so much of it after all… Anyway, I can get my fix here on Fridays, that's for sure! PS.. I love the photo of the door on the wall with the wreath on it… so pretty and unique. And I voted for you. I am your newest follower!
I got the iphone about 2 months ago and love it for HootSuite and Twitter. The camera is great and you can send pictures right off or email them to yourself.
I just saw a way to blog from it but saw less-than-positive reviews about that app so I'm not sure if I'll get it. If you use it, let me know what you think.
I'll be posting a chair reupholstery later today!
Hey thanks for the love! I have to say you are always inspiration to me. I stumbled onto your blog shortly after Lisa and I started our little business and was thrilled to see you were doing so many of the things we were trying to do. Great minds DO think alike. You have certainly given me loads of motivation and inspiration. And I love everything you do. Thanks for sharing so many tips with us and making it easier.
I'm glad this is the last day for the True Value contest. I have tried to vote every day. I feel sorry for the other contestants. I don't think they have a chance. I have even tried to vote on different computers, but they are very smart, doesn't work. The sheet music dressers look better with creamy paint. Someone should make one with jazz music, or rock.
Marian:
I can not explain how very excited I was to see my music sheet dresser featured on FF.
I feel so honored to have you mention my project with all the fabulous projects that come pouring into your link party every week.
I just posted about the relation I felt to be acknowledged by my very favorite blogger-YOU!
Thanks so very much….
Have a wonderful weekend.
Cori
This reminds me of my dentist actually. She has an office that is decorated with business office furniture just like this. I love the look, it makes me forget about my cavities and think of vacation.
