As I mentioned in my “Joy Banner” post, I am currently at my grandfather’s house to help my mom and uncle clean out the attic. This is quite a chore (and I get the heebie–jeebies digging through all of this bug infested stuff), but it is a treasure trove. Here are some of the things we’ve found already…
Several antique Beatrix Potter books… (A Correction – the book pictured is an Edith Davidson book, but we have a stack of Beatrix Potter books and I just grabbed one. Obviously this is not one of those! Thanks to the Queen of Fifty Cents, a former librarian, for the correction.)

The hat is phenom! If it were mine, it would find a spot where it could be displayed as is.
What lovely treasures.
Cool stuff, lucky you! Keep digging!
Treasure trove indeed!! Some wonderful stuff you all have uncovered. Look forward to seeing what else is hidden in the attic.

oh my gracious those are fantastic! I especially like the Beatrix Potter book. all those are true treasures.
It's like a treasure hunt and an early Christmas all in one. I am sure it is sad to know it is his stuff but also so much fun to experience it all.

Ohh forgot to say – I love the vintage house numbers and if you have a 510 and are looking to sell them. I'd be interested.

That book is fabulous! You're right ~ it looks like you have hit a treasure trove. It's amazing what you can find in people's attics that they've saved!
I would be shaking from excitement. Even if I didn't get to take a single thing just the look back…. Awesome stuff!
I'm so sorry for your loss, but JIMMINY CHRISTMAS you hit a gold mine!!!! Green with envy right now. Enjoy the hunting 🙂
That is just so much fun. (Do you get to keep what you want?) Please post lots more, as I am really enjoying this!!

Hello ~I've just strolled in for my first visit…I've enjoyed taking a peek at your past posts. You've got so many wonderful ideas. Your blog is so beautifully inviting.
We share similar taste for so many of the same creative design elements.
As fall came to a close I looked forward to winter (that's fast approaching), bringing a festive inspiration for a few DIY decorations and gifts. With a little baking in between.
Don't you love the aroma that fills the air during this season?
My cat also appreciates the evergreens and an occasional ping pong toss of my (newly created and not yet dried) ornaments…
I've bookmarked you in my favs.
I look forward to coming by your charming blog again.
Come by for a visit. Your company would be nice.
Sweet holiday wishes,
Sara
Your grandparents would LOVE that you are having a ball looking through all their treasures. Wouldn't we want that for our children? Enjoy yourself!!
Happy Holidays!
Can I come over and help??? I'll bring the Purel!
I'm loving the Liquor-Lite!
Hugs,
Anne
LUCKY!
Fabbo stuff, really unusual. Your book though is by Edith Davidson, not Beatrix Potter. Sorry, old children's librarians never die!
