So, in my mad dash to get things done for Lucketts, I am grabbing everything that’s been hanging out in my office and stash for a while. This morning I was checking out some blogs and watched the 2009 Endless Yard Sale clip at The Lettered Cottage. In the video, you get a glimpse of a vintage sign that read “Open Daily…til 6.” I loved the sign and immediately thought of an antique table leaf that has been waiting to be repurposed. I painted the letters free hand with a cream acrylic paint. I wanted this sign to look hand done, so I chose to not use a stencil, here.
I finished off the piece with a light sanding and some dark walnut stain. The gouges were already earned during its former life as a table top and the stain just brought them out.
Just one more piece to add to the Lucketts pile.
There are so many places I could use this in my house, but I need to remind myself that I can make another one. Can’t keep them all…

very cute!
I say the same things, you can't keep everything. Even though I try too. 🙂
love it! i know what you mean…I always want to keep my latest creation.my husband always reminds me that there's another one just around the corner (trash find that is) so funny how we are
also forgot to mention that I painted a knock off of TLC's "Water ski Rentals" sign the other day, and Susie's "Farmers Market" last week. Apparently I don't have any good ideas of my own any more!!!!
But , it's nice to see everyone is complimented by my knock offs! you can get some great inspiration from these ladies (and you too!) watch out, soon I'll be knocking off your work! lol
I watched that videa yesterday too.. And like you I could not keep my eyes off of that sign.. I am thinking I might make on for my kitchen… Thanks for sharing! :O)
Your creativity is so inspiring to me. I am looking forward to summer, and being able to use some of the inspiration that I get from you. Jackie
I'll be going and looking for you! My sis and I are going to Culpeper Friday and staying with my old roommate for the weekend. Can't wait!
Oh I am in love with your sign… great colour combo and the nice thing is you can put it anywhere… great job.

it is awesome! so cute! wish i had an actual shop so i could use it! 😉 i love knock-off signs when they are made out of scraps and other old salvaged woods. you are still upcycling, so it's perfect!
Alright, you have to stop with all of the awesome things you are taking to Lucketts–you are making me so bummed that I am not even close to the area!
I just love this and think I could make something like it for our camper. Looking for cheap art ideas!!
Wow, I love the sign. That baby will sell as soon as it's on display. Wish I could go to your sale. Have fun doing your last minute creating. If you are like me, that's when the best ideas happen. have a great day.
Such a nifty little sign Miss M, like I always say.. I can't believe you hand painted that! It's so cute… make another one for sure!
