Remember my sheet music dresser? Well, I thought you would all be pleased to know that she landed in a good home.
A wonderful woman named Stephanie bought her and loved her enough to have her shipped all the way to Californina! She is a crazy talented designer of interiors and wedding decor. She has great taste, so I considered it a huge compliment that she loved my dresser.
She just sent me pictures (credited to her) of where it ended up and I couldn’t be more thrilled. Isn’t this room lovely?
I really like the symmetry, the pops of red, and the amazing trim work. The dresser looks great nestled between two twin beds and I never even thought of using it that way.
Stephanie collected thrift store finds and arranged them on the top. Who says you can’t use a kettle in a bedroom?
It was so good seeing this piece very happily situated in a new room. Thanks so much for sending me the pictures, Stephanie!
Check out her blog to tour her amazing home (which they built twice due to a devastating fire), view her portfolio and get inspiration from her wedding and party decor.
Tomorrow we’re driving back home and my van is stuffed with all of my flea market and antique shop finds, plus Christmas presents . “Fitting ten pounds of flour in a five pound sack” came to mind when we were packing the van this afternoon, but we squeezed it all in. We could even fit more if we hit a good yard sale on the way home.
I hope my husband isn’t reading this…

Glad it got a pretty new home. Your work is so inspiring. I'm trying to get up the nerve to re-do a family dresser just like it, which has been passed down 5 generations.
Wow! What a gorgeous room. Your dresser is perfect and I love the red accents.

Fantastic!!! It's hard to let go of things we love, but when they go to the perfect home, it's so great! Good match 🙂

What an honor! Congratulations.
It must feel so wonderful for you to see your beloved dresser in such a nice home and setting. It looks sensational and aren't you fabulous to ship it all the way to CA?!
I look at blogs like yours, and I am blown away by the creativity. I have an old dresser almost identical to this one languishing away up in our attic. I am hoping that in a previous post you included some directions on how you accomplished this. Glad I found you! Blessings
The sheet music dresser looks fantastic between the two beds. It is the perfect height for a night stand, and it suits the room to a "T"! How wonderful for you to see your redone items looking so loved and happy! That closet to TDF!!! What a difference it makes to the whole room. I am going to check out her blog.
Hugs, Cindy

That dresser is so unique. what a great addition to the room, I can't imagine a more fitting piece of furniture in its place, almost as if it were made for this room!

Marian,
I love where the dresser ended up and have subscribed to Stephanie's site. It truly looks like fun.
Great job…you need to make another of the sheet music dressers.
Karen
I'm blown away by Stephanie's beautifully decorated room! I'm going to zip over to her site right now to see what other lovely things she has up her sleeve!
I love that dresser and that room is to die for! your both very talented
love reading your blog!
You've just given me an idea to decopage sheet music onto the cabinet doors in my piano studio! It is an converted garage that had big storage cabinets. They are painted gray on the doors right now. Sheet music on top of that should look great!
I’m in the midst of re-creating this dresser and need help! I have a major concern with the burnt umber tint. My local Sherwin Williams was kind enough to give me some for free and I’ve diluted it in water but when I brush it onto the sheet music after mod-podging onto the drawers, I find it comes out very ‘streaky’ and not even the way it looks in the pictures above. I’ve tried with different types of brushes and even a damp rag and I’ve even tried different concentrations of tint but instead of having a nice warm hue like it does in the photos it just looks like I smeared brown stuff all over the sheet music. HELP!
I love it so much….I grew up on those old hymns….That dresser is so special! Thank you so much for sharing.
