Furniture Feature Friday – Favorites & a Link Party

August is a crazy month for me.  I kicked it off with Haven, now I’m in North Carolina for the Becoming Conference and then we’re off to Arizona and Colorado.  FFF will still be happening, but you’ll have to hang in there with me if I miss it or can’t pick favorites one week.  I was able to fit some browsing in tonight, though, so here are my favorites…
This piece by Pam from Simple Details looks so glam with a fresh coat of glossy black.  She’s a better woman than I for letting this go to a client!  It looks beautiful just where it is.

I just featured a piece by Oliver & Rust  in a non-FFF post a few weeks ago and I try to pick different people to feature, but this was just too good not to share!  Look at the styling on that shelving.  Meg is a genius and she’s invited to my house anytime.
Lastly, believe it or not, I’m usually not a fan of painting old map cabinets, card catalogs, etc.  They just seem to look best in natural oak, but that notion was totally blown out of the water when I saw this architect’s desk by CJ of Juniper & Roses.  By painting the body of the piece, but leaving the handles and top natural, it really brings out the lines and details of the piece.  I just love it!  (As an FYI/disclosure thing, CJ is one my milk paint retailers in the UK.)
Here are the rules for our furniture get-together…
1.) Your post has to be about furniture. Please, please, please…just furniture. If you find your link has been deleted, it’s not because I’m mean, it’s because your post was not about furniture. You can share makeovers, awesome finds, favorite pieces, furniture arrangements, or even pieces on your wish list! Built-in furniture like kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanities qualify as furniture.
2.) Post a permalink (the link to the post), not the link to your blog.
3.) This party will close Friday at midnight PST and I will choose my favorite(s) and feature their piece(s) on next week’s FFF. Enjoy the party!

  2. This is fun! I am in the mood to redo my furniture, maybe cause spring is coming. I look forward to getting some great ideas here. Glad Deborah Jean told me about you.

  3. Oh, I love your favorites, too! Never thought on of those recliners could actually look that good. My husband may get his way after all. (He really wants a big, soft recliner.) Maybe someday (soon) when I decide on a color for my french country chair & hutch, I'll have something to share with your awesome party.

    Hugs,
    Jami

  4. Well blow me down, what a most pleasant surprise to see my cabinet as a feature. I can't wait to tell my friend whom made the piece by hand. I wanted to tell you I think you are a great inspiration to all of us moms, you show us that we can do almost anything. Thank you and have a wonderful weekend.

  5. The recliner post is fabulous! I have one I love (very comfy) but the fabric is old hat and needs an update. This is perfect. I would not have had the confidence to tackle it until now. Thanks for featuring it, I doubt I could've found it myself.

  6. Hi Marion! Thanks for hosting again. I've linked up a design love story I had the honor of working on that incorporated lots of hard working built-ins.

This week I have been really praying for focus and direction on starting my little business. I appreciate your blog and I get so much information from you. Thank you so much.

  8. Oh my! I've never seen a slipcover for a recliner! Wow… she did an amazing makeover!

Thanks so much for hosting! It seems quite some time since I've visited. I need to remedy that.

    Off to take a look!

    Have a wonderful weekend! xx
