Furniture Feature Friday – Favorites, Chalk Paint Party & Link Party

I have really enjoyed seeing all of the wonderful pieces of furniture painted with AS Chalk Paint over the last few weeks, so tonight we’re having a chalk paint link up in addition to our usual furniture get together.  Sound good?

First, my favorites from last week.  Desks and vanities are what caught my eye for some reason.

Cutie, Katie, from Craptastic (so funny) painted this tired antique vanity in a cheery yellow, but tempered it with some dark walnut stain.  A harlequin pattern graces the top.  Beautiful choices, Katie!

Kristi from The Speckled Dog picked a bold green to make this ho-hum desk pop.  And look at those lovely turned legs.  Would it make you jealous if I oogle and whistle at those legs, Kristi?
Julie from The Painted Parlor kept this vanity simple with a distressed coat of white.  The shape of this piece is so stunning, she was absolutely right to make it light, bright and feminine.  Gorgeous!

If you have painted anything with Annie Sloan’s chalk paint, link it up here.  Continue to scroll down if you have a piece of furniture to link up to the general furniture party.  (If you have already linked up a piece of furniture that was painted with chalk paint in a previous party, it’s OK to link it up at this specific party again.)

Several people accidentally linked up to the wrong party. No worries at all.  We’re just going to roll with it!

Here are the rules for the general furniture party…

1.) Your post has to be about furniture.  Please, please, please…just furniture.  If you find your link has been deleted, it’s not because I’m mean, it’s because your post was not about furniture.  You can share makeovers, awesome finds, favorite pieces, furniture arrangements, or even pieces on your wish list!  Built-in furniture like kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanities qualify as furniture.
2.) Post a permalink (the link to the post), not the link to your blog.
3.) Both link parties close Friday at midnight PST and I will choose my favorite(s) and feature their piece on next week’s FFF.

  1. I LOVE that yellow desk. Si pretty and I love the mustard color. Naturally, I messed up my linking and accidentally linked in the chalkboard area…hmmmm….maybe that second glass of wine was a bad idea! 🙂 Thanks for hosting!

  2. Thank you SO much for featuring my desk! I can barely contain my excitement!! I adore all of the features!! Thanks again!

  3. I too messed up and added my table to the chalk paint link instead of general furniture party—-sorry! It's getting late where I'm at and i should already be in bed!!!! 🙂 Thanks for giving me a place to "share" my work with more people!

  4. So, I got so excited about the party that I accidentally linked up my Vintage Typewriter Table under the Chalk Paint Section. So sorry! I do have some chalk paint on hand I'm ready to use…thanks for the inspiration!

  5. Oh…I feel very silly. I just linked up my furniture redo to the chalk paint party, and directly after I pressed submit realized it! I'm so glad we're just rolling with it..
All of the links look so great! I love Furniture Feature Fridays!

  6. Ha ha. Looks like a lot of peeps linked to the wrong party. I probably would've too if I had something to link up this week!

Thanks so much for feature my little desk, and you're welcome to hoot 'n' holler at her legs anytime!

  7. Hi Marian,
Oeps I am one of the people who has linked up to the wrong party. I was so excited that I finally had a piece of furniture to share that I linked up before reading. Can't seem to remove my own linky and do it over. Sorry.
Thanks for hosting, I am so happy to be playing along again.

  8. I'm so desperate to get my hands on some Annie Sloan Chalk paint but the postage to Australia is crazy – about 60$US for a litre for the postage. So all this talk is just making me SO JEALOUS!! and now you've got a showcase party…I'll just be clicking on every link up and living vicariously on this gorgeous paint.
    cheers Fiona

  9. Oops! I didn't read before I linked :/
I linked up my chair on the chalk paint . sorry! I didn't see a way to delete it.

  10. Besides being incredibly talented, I have discovered something else about you, Marian. You are a very thoughtful, generous person.

A few months ago I mentioned something in a comment about attempting to reupholster two chairs – my first upholstering project. You were kind enough to e-mail me with advice (which I took) and encouragement. Even with 5800 followers, a family, and a business, you took the time to make a connection.

By the way – my chairs look great! Thank you!

  11. I did the same thing as MommaHen…is there a way to delete? Sorry I was having trouble with loading and accidently put it under the wrong link party.

  12. So Sorry, I goofed up and linked my Potting Bench to the Chalk Paint party by accident. I am painting it with chalk paint now but I don't have the post ready for that. I am doing too many things at once I guess and did not pay close attention.

  13. Yup, I linked up wrong too! DUH! Sorry, I was confused. But I hope you link my linkup… it was a little something I put together for Donna's party last weekend, but thought you might enjoy it too. 🙂
