the best before & after

As you can imagine, I am totally tuckered out tonight.  Lucketts is over and I had a blast.  I’ll share more when my vision isn’t blurry and my mind isn’t fuzzy and my legs aren’t rubbery and I’m not sticky and filthy.

In my post tonight, I thought I would share my very best before and after pictures of all time –

Here’s my booth before (Saturday morning):

…and here is the after (Sunday afternoon)…and the Bucherie sign was sold.:

When you girls want to shop, it is no joke!  This amazing booth transformation would not have been possible without all of the amazing readers who came out in droves to buy my finds and furniture.Thank you, thank you so much!!
Before I shower and go to bed, I have to give a shout-out to Suzi from Georgia and Courtney from Pennsylvania.  I met Brianna (she got a picture for you) and she said you insisted she do something amazing (short of being arrested) to get a mention on my blog.  You ladies crack me up.  No handcuffs were necessary.  I wish you could’ve made the trip, but maybe next year!
Stay tuned for more…

  1. Well done! I'd love to buy the grain sack chair, but it doesn't go with much that I own. I hope you had fun, and time to enjoy your success. I think you will sell the sideboard in the nice few days. Ann

  2. !!!!!*C O N G R A T U L A T I O N S*!!!!
what a fine outcome for all of your endless & talent-filled hard work. i wish i could say i knew you, but for now i will just be happy as a member of your very loudly cheering chorus. i can't wait to hear the stories behind the event.

  3. Congratulations on such a successful weekend! I knew you would be a hit; I just wish I could have been there:) Thank you for replying to my email about the grain sacks so quickly – you know that I was up all night long washing them over and over and over again!

  4. Wowwwwzaaaa!!! You did awesome!!
That pretty much does not surprise me at all since everything you create is amazing!
Thank you for sharing your booth before and afters with us 🙂
Are you actually going to get to rest ?

    xoxo

  5. Now THAT is…AMAZING!!! SOOOOO happy for you; that's like every booth holder's dream come true!!! 🙂 Sooo wonderful!!! God bless and give you lots of sweet dreams about things OTHER than painting and waxes: dreams about chocolate or a tropical vacation or a perfectly finished bathroom!! 🙂

  6. Congrats on the great sale! Your hard work has now become prized treasures for others to enjoy…how FAB is that!

One year I asked my young son to snap some pictures of this and that at JunkFest. I was confused later to look at the pictures and see bare patches of concrete. I was a bit annoyed that he didn't capture any pictures for me and made mention of it to him. He explained…"Mom, those are all the empty spots where people bought all your stuff!" I can live with that!!

  7. It truly IS the best before & after, isn't it?! But I knew that would happen — you probably had people literally *swarming* your booth!

So we can plan for next year, please tell us again when this event happens. It appears to be an annual May event, but is it a set weekend every year? I've got to save my $, rent a U-haul and plan a road trip, you know!

    Best,

    Kimberly

  8. I'm so happy for you, good sales are a push in the back to keep going and do what you do best,
decorating and creating, and showing us before and after pictures.
    Thanks for always sharing.

  9. I CANNOT WAIT to show this before and after to my husband!!! I showed him the before over the weekend. I am trying to get him to understand what it is I am working towards. He just doesn't get it, even though I can tell he is trying….. The AFTER pic is amazing. I mean, who the heck wouldn't understand THAT! Way to go, Marian!!!

btw. a little 'birdie' told me that you might be little sunburn! Take care of that skin on that cute face, girlfriend!! Can't replace it!;)

  10. Wow you practically sold out, good for you!! I know you are tired from such an exciting weekend, but I wanted to ask you a question. Have you ever painted a top of a table and left the legs the natural stained color? I bought a kitchen table, with big chunky legs off craigslist to use as my office desk. the legs are in great shape, but the top, not so much, so my thought was to paint the top, a creamy color and leave the legs. I tried to google this look and can only find the opposite, natural top/painted legs. Since you are the expert, I was just wondering if that is something you have ever done. Thanks so much. Sue

  11. great going Marian! I am surprised the blue and white buffet didn't sell. I see the green legged table is gone, and most of your other creations! Congrats!

  12. Oh, Miss M… you worked SO hard and I'm thrilled you had such a blazing success. I love your blog and grin every time I see that there is a new entry. Right now my very first drop cloth is soaking in Clorox in the washer, destined to become a slipcover for the couch on the porch… Rest, play with the kids, bask in the light of the success of all your hard work. You deserve it all!

  13. Girl, that is amazing! Fantastic for you!

I hope you go spend a little dough on something fun just for you….get a massage…..and sleep in for a week! Doctors orders I tell you!

    xo

  14. It was SO good to meet you!!! 🙂 thanks for the picture and shout out! i'm thankful it didnt take getting arrested to get on here! my husband is as well;) see you next year!

  15. You are killing me with that grain sack chair!!! You know I want it, but I value my life, so I will just HAVE to want it from a far 🙁 Glad you had a wonderful weekend Marian, and looky there, the Boucherie sign sold! hehe(AS IF it wouldn't???)

  16. That's awesome! Though I'm not surprised since everything you make is just beautiful. Congratulations on your big successful weekend! Now go put your feet up and take a break…at least for a day 😉

  17. fantastic before and after! i can only assume that most people didn't have a way of hauling bigger furniture and that is why the few pieces are left. 😉

    have a creative day,

    amy

  18. As I type I am STILL sticky and filthy!! I continued junkin all the way back home. I just got the whole truck unloaded and now I am getting ready to just go and take it all in! I am SO happy that I got to meet you at Lucketts! Your booth was amazing and I am not surprised that you had like 2 things left! All your hard work paid off big time! I LOVE my old wire basket I bought! You know I'll be bloggin all about it!
Now ….go take a nap!! You earned it~lol!
    Beth

  19. It was so nice to meet you and your mother. I'm so in love with the dining room set. I kept touching it and hugging it when we finally arrived home. I'm usually not that weird, but couldn't help myself!! You did a fabulous job. Get some rest!!!

  20. I can't believe that lovely blue and white piece didn't sell!!! But congrats on all the rest — looks like you did really well. I just started my first chalk paint piece today….fingers crossed that it comes out looking something like yours…..
    Stacy

  21. Wow! You have completely inspired me! I got a few pieces from Craigslist and I am going to start working on them soon. I hope something pretty turns out:) I can't believe that buffet did not sell. That was one of my favorite pieces from what I have seen so far. I just discovered you a few weeks ago. I love your work!

  22. Congratulations! That is wonderful you did so well. I for one am looking forward to more transformations shown here on your blog.I get excited about seeing how you change them. I do hope you can get some rest after a workout like that. Bless your heart you worked yourself very hard this weekend. We left at home that couldn't attend were all rooting for your success.

  23. Oh I spy the chair I love and you still have it! That means it's meant to stay with you…at least until that magical day comes when I arrive at your door with a check in my hand. ((drama))
On the way home from school my son asked if when I was young, if I had dreams about what I wanted to be when I grew up…I said of course; I wanted to dance on Broadway; today that cracks me up b/c now my dreams are eating whatever I want and not gaining an ounce, having a house that cleans itself and owning one of your designs 🙂
You worked hard and had a very successful weekend…enjoy your well deserved rest.

  24. WOW..I am not suprised at all that your booth was that cleaned out ..Everything you do is so beautiful and you sure do have a true talent..Hoping I can get there next year..
    Janet

  25. I love all of your work and love the first picture; but, really love that most of your pieces found a new home… time to do more….
