I think Wendy from Sometimes Twice did a wonderful job with this small chest of drawers. The distressing brings out the detail of the piece and the black paint gives this chest a classic look. It just shows that black doesn’t have to be boring.
Lastly, this bench redo by The Prudent Homemaker is fantastic. The bench was weather-worn and tired and now it looks sharp and like a great place to rest and enjoy the outdoors.

Wow, the chair is fabulous! Thanks for hosting:-)
I am so excited to be featured! That was my first time linking up and my first painted piece! I was so excited that I just typed my blog url above with an exclamation mark at the end!
The bench is sitting in my front yard, which we completely tore out and changed this year, into a formal white garden that is also filled with edibles. We took out the one tree that was there and put in 8 semi-dwarf trees, 6 of which will produce fruit. I’m planting several thousand white flowers, which make the lettuce, herbs, and zucchini not so noticeable to the neighbors. I recently posted our white garden reveal as well. The black bench should really stand out among the white flowers.
Having read this I thought it was really enlightening.
I appreciate you taking the time and energy to put
this information together. I once again find myself spending a lot of time both reading and commenting.
But so what, it was still worthwhile!
Thanks for hosting! Always enjoy! Have an awesome weekend! -Kennesha
Happy Halloween ! I love the channel back chair! I had a matching set I got from my mom. They were in perfect shape but hubby didn’t want them in our new house. I wanted to get them redone. I lost on that vote. I could kick myself from now until next year. I should have put both feet down and insisted. DUMB< DUMB< DUMB!!! Well, live and learn. Marian, after reading about your diet and workout I'm getting serious about my baby weight =- that was thirty five years ago. Can't use pregnancy as an excuse any longer 🙂
Hello Marian! I follow your blog post by post (generally in silence because of my poor English…haha, so much easy for me to understand than writing). I enjoy it a lot and find you so inspiring!
I’m very happy joining your great party today.
Besos and congratulations from Argentina,
Silvina
Thanks for hosting – I linked up my wardrobe. First time using milk paint and I (and the husband) loved it. I wish I had tried it sooner. 🙂
Have a great weekend!

that chair is AMAZING!
I love that chair! I am gearing up to tackle a whole slew of upholstered pieces. Great idea with the houndstooth.
What’s up to every body, it’s my first visit of this weblog; this
blog consists of amazing and actually fine stuff in favor of readers.
Thanks for hosting! BTW, I just got a Nikon D7000 and I love it. Hopefully, I will have pics from it up on the blog soon. Still learning my way through it. Have a grand weekend. Toodles, Kathryn @TheDedicatedHouse
I’m number 121. I’m trying to add MMS blue paint to my kitchen and would love your opinion on what to paint blue. Thanks for hosting this great party. I get lots of inspiration from your blog and your book.
My website is on the verge of going live and I am so excited!! I was at Abbe’s Retailer Training Workshop this past week. LOVED IT! I have been pickin all day and came home for a few moments to regroup. Took a moment and viewed the Friday Furniture picks, they are fabulous. Love the more sophisticated looks this week. Hope to enter a few of finds today in next weeks event. Thanks Marion!!
oh my!!! I have chair envy!! That thing is awesome!
I think Halloween is the most fun ever when we have our little ones, and I do agree, small towns really turn out the trick or treaters. Thank you so much for hosting your party today.
Oh man! Another gorgeous channel back chair redo – be still my heart!!
I love the kitchen cabinets done in chalk paint!
Marian, I’m still interested in the charcuterie sign. Could you tell me how big it is and how much??? Thanks. My son in law is a chef and he loves that . It would be a great gift for him! Thanks…mary
I think these 3 furniture features are some of the best I’ve seen you highlight! The upholstery is just phenomenal, could go anywhere; the distressed dresser just shows what you can do with a plain old or inexpensive piece of furniture to make it look like a classic; and the bench is perfect—inspires me to re-do one of mine. Thanks for the beautiful photos!
What the hell mustard seed…I refuse to “pin it” ….I enjoy the ramblings of the artists. us this now how your format will be….I will not click on fri.
I just installed the “Pin it” plugin on my blog to make it easier for people to pin my pictures, but I didn’t know it would happen on the thumbnails. I always pin from the site, so I’ll look into if I can disable it on these link parties.
Until I get that figured out, you can click around the pinit button, so you can visit the site.
The snaps of garden are really so beautiful and i like most it’s furniture . The chair is looking royal . After work spending time at patio or outdoor space is such so relaxing and this kind of comfortable furniture gives us more royalty.
