FURNITURE FEATURE FRIDAY – Favorites & Link Party

Good evening everyone!  Thanks so much for all of the links last week.  It’s so much fun for me to look through them and see people showing off all styles of furniture, techniques, paint, fabrics, makeovers and awesome finds.  Each week is truly a  furniture feast for the eyes, so thank you for that!  I hope you all enjoy it as much as I do.  Here are three of my favorites from last week…
I love all of the details and custom touches on this drop-cloth-slipcovered ottoman by Patti of Old Things New.  The double ruffled skirt with the frayed edges make this piece super special.

I’m game for painting anything, but I’ve never tried to paint upholstery.  This piece by Terry of Forever Decorating, and the tutorial for it, looks fabulous and makes me want to give it a try!

I think this finish by Cassie of Primitive and Proper is perfection.  She used a very light wash of paint and rubbed it into the grain of the wood.  Some clear wax and glass knobs finish it off.  Gorgeous work!

Here are the rules for our furniture get-together…
1.) Your post has to be about furniture. Please, please, please…just furniture. If you find your link has been deleted, it’s not because I’m mean, it’s because your post was not about furniture. You can share makeovers, awesome finds, favorite pieces, furniture arrangements, or even pieces on your wish list! Built-in furniture like kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanities qualify as furniture.
2.) Post a permalink (the link to the post), not the link to your blog.
3.) This party will close Friday at midnight PST and I will choose my favorite(s) and feature their piece(s) on next week’s FFF. Enjoy the party!

  1. Thanks for your leadership Marian. Thank you also for hosting Furniture Friday. Love it when I have something ‘furniture’ to share. Love striped grain sacks. Decided faux would be a cheerful way to enjoy the look.

  2. Just wanted to say thanks for the party 😉 I have thought it a million times but I don’t think I’ve ever commented it. It’s one of my favs.

  3. holy cannoli! thank you SO much for the feature, marian! much appreciated!!!! i have nothing fun to share this week, but you totally made my day!

  4. Nice blog right here! Additionally your website rather a lot up fast!
What web host are you the usage of? Can I get your affiliate hyperlink to your host?
I desire my web site loaded up as fast as yours lol

  5. The ottoman feature made me wonder about your industrial sewing machine you bought awhile back…do you like it? I’ve been thinking about purchasing one, because of the abuse I give Janome machine. It’s a workhorse, but I wonder if an industrial machine might save me time/money in the long run. Thanks!

  6. Showing my ignorance, but can you post if you don’t have a blog?
Or I guess I really mean link a pic!

  7. Dear Marian – When I entered your site tonight & saw my little drop cloth slipcover I did a double-take! Seriously . . . I was so surprised and so thrilled to have it featured at your Furniture Feature Friday party that I just had to run up to the bedroom to tell my husband about it (good thing he wasn’t asleep yet). I think he gets a little tired of me talking about my blog but this was exciting even to him. Miss Mustard Seed is a well known name around this house!

Thank you so very much and huge blessings to you for making my day!

  8. Love the french provencial sofa re-do. I have to admit I was unhappy when I clicked the link to find an Etsy shop and not a tutorial on how to reupholster that sofa. Kinda misleading in my book. Oh well, so many other great things to look at! Thanks for hosting such a great party every week.
