Working in both the retail world and the magazine world make the seasons a jumbled mess in my house. You would not believe how sad it is when your four year old gets excited at seeing a Christmas tree only to crush his hopes by telling him it’s still September and it’s just for mommy’s work. Devastating. Anyway, last week I had to finish a project for Thanksgiving, which was a little strange when the daffodils are blooming and I have spring-cleaning fever. You’d think I’d be used to it after doing it for a few years, but it’s still a little bizarre to me.
I enjoyed it, though, and here are some pictures from the shoot…
I mixed mercury glass, fine china and silver with natural elements like pine cones, feathers and a rattan place mat. I love using contrasts like this.
I’m just a little bit in love with this blue & white dome with one of Jami’s tags hanging from it. I am on a mission to find several more small domes to use in this way.
Of course, Easter/Spring was just outside of the frame, but that’s our secret.
I’m trying to prepare myself now for Christmas in May.
Welcome to my world.
