Oreck VersaVac Giveaway!

***This giveaway is now closed****

I was initially contacted by Oreck late last year when they signed on as a sponsor and sent me my Steam It mop.  I’m sent a lot of things to test out and review and I can say honestly that the Steam It mop is my favorite and I use it all the time.  So, when Oreck asked to send me their new product, the VersaVac, which is a steam mop and vacuum in one, I was ready and willing to try it.

I must admit I was a bit skeptical when I first pulled it out of the box.  I immediately thought of a spork.  It doesn’t stab things as well as a fork and doesn’t hold as much as a spoon, but it can do both things okay.  My initial thought was, this machine is too small and too light to be able to steam and vacuum AND do both things well.  Well, I was wrong.  Unlike the spork, this vacuum/steamer (steamuum/vacmer?) did both things very well.

This one machine will vacuum hard surface floors and, with the turn of a dial, a brush roller is activated to clean carpets.  I can go straight from cleaning my carpets to steaming tile, sealed hardwoods or linoleum with the addition of a steamer pad and another turn of a dial.  Amazing.

All of the features are “push button” and easy to figure out.  I’m not big on reading manuals unless I have to (like with my camera.)  I prefer to figure things out on my own and I had the VersaVac humming within about 3 minutes of getting it out of the box.

One feature I love is that it is bagless.  When the debris chamber is full, you simply push a button, empty it, and then click it back into place.

The VesaVac comes with two pads that are machine washable.  They velcro to the bottom of the steam attachment and then the steam attachment clicks onto the vacuum.

A chamber on the front of the machine can be removed, taken to the tap and filled with water (and you can steam up to 30 minutes continuously!)

When you’re done steaming, press this pedal with your foot and the steamer attachment pops off.  You’re ready to vacuum again.

I think this is such a clever machine that I agreed to make a commercial for it!  (That’s why a camera crew came to my house and I’ll tell you more about it tomorrow.)

So, would you like to win the brand new VersaVac by Oreck?  I just happen to have one to give away!  Woohoo!!  Here’s what you have to do to enter to win…

Leave a comment at the bottom of this post telling me what feature you think you’d like most about the VersaVac.  That’s it!

You must be over the age of 18 and live in the continental US to be eligible to win this giveaway.  It will be open through Sunday, September  23, 2012, at midnight PST.  A winner will be randomly chosen and announced by Sunday, September 30, 2012.

Good luck!

I was compensated for this review, but all opinions are my own.
