My New Room

I moved into my new room on the third floor of The Old Lucketts Store last Thursday. It was quite a workout and my legs were like noodles when the day was done, but it was worth all of the work.  I love how the room looks now and I really haven’t done a lot to it.  I have more ideas of how to put my stamp on it and showcase my goods.  Here’s a tour…

  1. Looks wonderful! I only wish I lived close enough to visit. What it the item called in the first photo that is holding wheels? There is also one on the table in the center of the room. I love these but have never found one locally. I want one for my kitchen counter!

  2. It's gorgeous, Marian! I swear one day I am going to come visit your shop! I drool over every piece you paint or design. I'd love to own an original MMS piece. Did you use ASCP or MP on the blue chest? I love the color! Congrats on the new room!

  3. I really wish I lived closer!!! You certainly have some great items in your room and you have done a wonderful job with your display.

  4. I love it! You are a very talented woman. I just wish I lived in the northern hemisphere so I could come and have a look and ooh and aah in person.
    Just gorgeous!

  5. Your room looks beautiful! It's so nice an open and it looks like it gets great light! And just think of hot awesome your legs will look after a few more trips up and down those stairs 😉

  6. i love every single thing in your shop. i really wish i could have all of those pieces in my house. it is unlikely to have them here though, since they would become all kinds of yucky. i mean wendy-fied. perhaps, it would be fab…. ANY WHO. NIGHTY NIGHT.

  7. Hi!
I noticed your logo on the Wall! That looks fantastic~
I love the painted floors there– they way you have your room decorated is so wonderful…like a kid in a candy store!
I know you're so happy to be inside and be at Luckett's… Congrats to you!

  8. It looks fantastic! I thought of you today when buying furniture at the auction and my bf was doing the "bf scowling cause this woman is insane for buying furniture and painting it". Thanks for your example and giving me a little more courage to tackle and try things others do not understand. I mean, could I really walk away from the old dressers that were solid wood and sold 2 for $2? That'd be insane! The armoire for $1 had to stay, because it was simply too heavy, but oh my the chairs and endtables for $1. I love country auctions.

  9. Love your style! Would be great to get info on the rug and black metal board with glitter magnet letters. Thanks for sharing, you are an amazing lady!! 🙂

  10. What a lovely space you are going to have! Waterproof to boot!

If I win the giveaway I'd looove some of those finch pillows and/or amber glass tumblers! They are so pretty!

    Hugs,

  11. Absolutely beautiful. I love the white floors, they make the soft hues and colors pop. We have friends in Silver Spring, MD and we'll be visiting them soon. Hope to be able to stop by. Oh, if only you could bottle up your talent and share a drop of it with me. =)

  12. Congratulations on your beautiful space! Who could resist it? I only wish I lived close enough to come see it in person. You are an inspiration Miss Mustard Seed!

  13. Your shop looks fabulous! I wish I stayed in the states and somewhere near where your store is! I spy so many fabulous things that I want!

  14. *sigh* I could spend hours upon hours in that room Marian! It's just gorgeous! I am in love with that metal chair!! It would look perfect in my laundry room next to my vintage sewing table… *sigh*

  15. I love Lucketts I happened to come across it way back when they first opened. I thought it was one of the most interesting shop I've ever been to-that and things are priced well.

When my son transferred from Ohio (where we live) to DC I was so excited because now I can stop in twice a year! I mean I was sad to see him leave but there is a silver lining haha. I never come home empty handed. This past spring I had the pleasure of seeing your space outside. I didn't even mention to my husband you have a blog and I follow your work. He came over to me and said did you see this area it's really nice! Out of the entire place of beautiful things he really noticed yours. You certainly have an eye like the other vendors there. I'll say good luck but it's pretty much a given you'll do wonderful!

  16. You're an optimist. I know this because of the writing on the chalkboard … if the writing goes uphill, that's what it says about you! LOVE the room and I am happy for you!
