It is time for my next original art sale! You would think I would be painting less during a kitchen renovation, but it’s been a bit of a relief and escape for me, so I’ve ended up painting more. The house is a bit of a mess (the guest room is loaded with the kitchen contents, the garage is storing the appliances, and the dining room is acting as our make-shift kitchen), so I’m a bit limited as to other projects I can work on. I’ve been doing some gardening, trimming, priming, etc., but going to the studio to paint has been my favorite way to be productive and deal with the noise and mess.
So, I have almost 30 paintings in this sale, which is the largest original art sale I’ve had. I will likely sneak a few more in over the weekend and I will add them to this post as well.
I share a preview post of each sale so you can take your time to browse through the paintings to see if any of them speak to you. In this grouping, I painted a variety of subjects (my mom told me she was tired of the fruits and vegetables) and added in some different sizes that would land at different price points.
Here are the details of shopping the sale…
- The sale will go live HERE. Paintings will not be visible until 1:00 pm est on Monday, May 1, 2023. The paintings are first come first serve.
- There is only one of each and they typically sell quickly.
- For faster secure checkout, set up an account and sign in HERE before the sale starts.
- The paintings are not reserved in your cart. They are only yours once you pay, so I suggest checking out quickly with the painting you want most and then circling back for other paintings. Shipping is free inside the US, so you will not incur extra charges for checking out separately. I will combine all of your orders and they’ll ship together.
- Every sale, we prepare for the rush of traffic and try to fix any issues from the last sale, but issues can (and do) still happen. Hopefully, this sale will be smooth and everyone gets what they want! If not, just be patient and know we’re doing our best.
- If you do miss out on a painting, you can send me an e-mail and I will give you early access before my next sale goes live.
We are going to change things up for these sales soon to open them to blog subscribers first. If you’re not a subscriber, you can sign up HERE or just below. I send out about 5-6 e-mails a week that include 3-4 new blog posts, one old blog post you may have missed (I have over 3,500 in my archive), and one round-up post for the week.
In addition to more original art sales, I will be offering new art classes once the kitchen renovation (along with the noise) is completed. My focus will be on oil painting, but we will explore other mediums in a sketchbook together. I’m also going to include all of the basic information about oil painting that can be so intimidating for beginners (the clean-up specifically and working with solvents.) I’m excited about sharing what I’ve learned with you and continuing to grow together. More details to come…
For now, here are the works…
Original Still Life Paintings
Brown Maryjanes, 8 x 10 oil on board, $225.

Black Maryjanes with Cutouts, 8 x 10 oil on board, $225

Lemons & a Monogrammed Tea Towel, oil on 8 x 10 board, $225

Carrots in a Compote, 8 x 10 oil on board, $225

Compote & a Tea Towel, 8 x 10 oil on board, $225

Original Oil Landscapes
Hint of Fall, 9 x 12 oil on board, $280. This is based on a photograph Jeff took for me while he was fishing in Minnesota.

Parsons’ Pond, 8 x 10 oil on board, $225. This is a painting of a pond in my in-law’s neighborhood in Raleigh, NC. I’ve done a few Plein Air paintings there over the years, but this one was done in the studio from a photograph.

White Barn in Pennsylvania, 8 x 10 oil on board, $225

Neighborhood Evergreens, 8 x 10 oil on board, $225

Gathering, Oil on 8 x 10 oil-primed linen panel, $225

Minnesota Twins, 8 x 10 oil on board, $225. I have so many pictures of these two trees, which were located where two roads met on my drive home from church in Rochester, MN. I just love how they are nestled together and how the light would peek through their branches.

Rochester Skies, 8 x 10 oil on board, $225

Dandelion Field, 8 x 10 oil on oil primed linen panel, sold

Two White Barns, 6 x 12 oil on board, $180

champagne fields, 6 x 12 oil on board, $180

Maryland Fields One, 5 x 7 oil on board, $90

Maryland Fields Two, 5 x 7 oil on board, $90

Lake Reflections One, 3 3/4 x 8 oil on board, $85

Lake Reflections Two, 3 3/4 x 8 oil on board, $85

Original Oil Animals
Wading, 8 x 10 oil on board, $225

Clover, 8 x 10 oil on board, $225

Bushy Tail, 8 x 10 oil on board, $225

Lake of the Woods Swan One, 5 x 7 oil on board, sold

Lake of the Woods Swan Two, 5 x 7 oil on board, sold

On the Edge, 6 x 8 oil on Arches oil paper on Raymar board, $95

All In, 6 x 8 oil on Arches oil paper on Raymar board, $95

Vintage Quail, 8 x 10 oil on board, $225. This one was a bit of an experiment as I worked out how I wanted to paint the background behind birds. I have so many bird pictures to paint! I ended up glazing it to give it an antiqued look and I think it suits the quail.

Hare Line, 8 x 8 oil on board, $100. This is another experiment with a look that’s a bit more modern. I had drawn out the rabbit for the “Clover” painting and I liked the graphic nature of the simple line. I decided to play with that a little bit in a second painting. I can envision this little guy in a gold frame to elevate the simplicity.

Some of these paintings are still drying, so I plan to varnish and ship the paintings the week of May 8. You will receive an e-mail notification ad tracking number when your order has shipped. All paintings are varnished (except the two ducks on oil paper) and they should be displayed without glass.
As always, thank you so much for supporting my art. It brings me so much joy and it’s an honor to have collectors who have encouraged (and outfitted) me from the beginning. Let me know if you have any questions about the paintings or the sale.
I will be adding some of these and works from the last original art sale to , but until then, there are lots of art prints, stationary, wrapping paper, and more available in my . They are also running a 30% off sale currently!

I’m looking forward to your classes! Will any of these paintings be available as prints on Society6?
Marian. you are such an amazing gal! I just don’t know how you manage to get so many things done while going through your kitchen reno. I love your paintings! You have such a gift! I would love to have a few of them. However, we will not be home next week so I am really sad that I can’t buy any. I am hoping that you will have some prints of these. Have a wonderful weekend with your family.
Love the Clover picture with the bunny. I can’t afford the painting and but maybe if you present it as a print I could maybe afford it. You do such a great job on your paintings. Good luck on your sake!!
My fav too!
Hi Marian,
Your work is so lovely. You are so talented! I like the variety of your work. I am so happy to hear that you will be teaching new oil painting classes, I have already taken two from you and enjoyed them very much. Thank you!
Ack! I can’t believe the dandelion painting is already sold!
It’s just magical. Perhaps you’ll paint another someday. 🙂
I love all the new animal paintings, particularly the bunnies. And the ducks look like they could swim off the painting! As always, I am amazed at the breadth and width of your talents and creativity!
My favorite is the bunny!! I can’t afford it, but I sure do love it!
Your painting is so beautiful!
Good luck with your art sale! Love all the new pieces…can’t believe all the chaos has made you even more productive. Chaos does the opposite for me.
We sold our house last week so I have been busy packing, reverse thrifting and tossing most of our worldly goods. Can’t believe how much we have accumulated in the 20 years we have been here. What WERE we thinking!?
Now we must find a new home…but at our age we aren’t looking for any major projects…maybe a little fresh paint and flooring will suffice.
I find myself envying people who are young and have more time ahead of them than I do. Feel like the clock is ticking downward and there won’t be enough time to get everything accomplished that I want…but I will have to make peace with that thought.
Marion
Your paintings are wonderful! How do you do it? With all the chaos? I would be one hot mess!
I’m interested in the line drawing of bunny. Is he still

Marian this is such a lovely collection! One day I will have one…or two or maybe three of your beautiful paintings. Just not a good time for me right now. I know your sale will be a huge success as always. You are truly gifted.
