just around the corner…

I’ve still been taking things easy the past few days and it’s kinda been nice to have permission to be a couch potato.  I always feel like I need to be super productive all the time, so it’s been a real change of pace to lay in bed watching Netflix the better part of the day.  I did start getting some work done this week, though.  My editor and I went through over 400 pictures I submitted for the book and narrowed it down to the best ones.  It was a fun process, though, since it was the first time she saw the pictures with the text.  She kept saying, “Oooo.”, “I love that!” and, “Oh wow.”  It made me feel good.    I can’t wait to see the layout designs.

I’ve also been getting my calender filled in, since I have quite a few things coming up just around the corner.

I’m hoping to get a pile together to take to Lucketts in a couple of weeks and that will include some new lavender bunches that just arrived last week.  I also have some things in my basement that have been waiting to be painted, so I’ll work on those when I feel up to it.

The main thing in my sights right now is the Lucketts Antique Market.  Based on the fact that I sold almost everything on the first day last year, I need to have even more this year and that means lots of shopping, painting and planning.  I have a couple of months still, but it always sneaks up on me and I want to be more on top of it this year.

To get ready for the frenzy, I restocked on ASCP and they sent me some of Annie’s new brushes.  Oh my.  I sort of have a thing for brushes and these are awesome.  I haven’t put them to work, yet, so I’ll let you know how they are in action, but I know enough about brushes to know these have all of the characteristics of a great brush.  I’ll keep you posted…

Despite my mumblings about my physical limitations over the past couple of weeks, I think it’s been good for me.  It’s not only forced me to rest, but it gave me a chance to step away from projects for a while and I feel really ready to work on some new things, look at rooms, pieces and decor with a fresh perspective, and maybe explore some ideas I’ve been kicking around in my head lately.

Now I’ve had this time, though, I’m ready to get to it!  I’m hoping this coming week will be a step back into my normal routine.
