Surprisingly, the more I am around antiques, the easier it is for me to resist the urge to buy everything that catches my eye. This amazing wire caddy holding 12 mini clay pots was in Christine’s space at Wild Rose the day I moved out. I kept looking at it. It was a siren…calling to me. My husband is outside tying the antique shoe rack to the top of our van and I’m eyeing things I want to buy instead of packing. I went back to my packing and suddenly became paranoid that someone else would come into the shop, make a beeline for the caddy and buy it while I was loading my car. When I start getting paranoid, I know I need to buy it or regret it later. I informed Lynette, “Ok. I’m getting this.” and plunked it clearly on the counter. I’m so happy I did. I love this piece.
It is going to be a great prop for photos shoots and it will look awesome on a coffee table or my kitchen counter once I get to my kitchen/family room remodel. Some day…

That wire caddy is fantastic! What a score!
What a cool little find for you. Sometimes you know right away that it must be yours!
Oh how many times I have walked away from a treasure, gone back to get it and found it gone! Such a sad feeling, but I know I don't need everything I want, and I don't want to become one of those hoarders on TV! Learning to be content, and walk away when I need to! I love this piece too and am glad you took it home with you!
That wire caddy is awesome..Great find..
I adore this! I don't know if I would have been able to walk away either! And I've heard nothing but good thinks about this chalk paint.. I'm dying to try some!
I thought I might post when I read you are getting rave reviews about the chalk paint. I a test spot inside my hutch cabinet door on Thursday evening and it is still scratching off with my fingernail. 🙁
Hello! I love the caddy – very nice! Would be nice for a little indoor herb garden. Do you know of any chalk paint or just plain furniture painting workshops in the Harrisburg/Gettysburg area (I live near Harrisburg)? Thanks!
Rachael
I have the same wire caddy but with room for six pots instead of twelve! It's sitting on a rusty old wood stove on my front porch with different annuals in each pot.
I can relate to that paranoid feeling. I've also fought it, won, and returned to find the item gone. GASP!
Good decision, I love it! Fill it w/jelly beans for Easter!

I received my chalk paint, but haven't tried it yet ~ I must say you are a wealth of information and I really enjoy everything that you do!!
I stumbled across your blog about a week ago and just wanted to send you a little note saying you are so very talented and have been a huge inspiration to myself. I've always had a passion for thrifty shopping, decorating, DIY projects, and after drooling over your blog for a few days I've started my own blog. I'm pretty nervous about it, and haven't had the opportunity to do much with it, but I am looking forward to it. So thank you!!
oh that little item is adorable and so good you did not pass it up!!

That caddy is fabulous!
And I use the same argument now, too…it'll be great for photo shoots. Hey, my husband can't quibble now since I'm a high falutin', published photographer! At least that's what I tell him when he protests! 😉
XO,
Anne
That is my main criteria on whether I really want an item — if I start getting paranoid and feeling that someone is going to come behind me and take it from me, I know it's something I MUST have, so I buy it. Regardless of what it is. You can always return it if you decide against it later, and if you can't (like in the case of purchases at an antique mall or from Etsy or eBay), you can always re-sell it.
Great score on the clay pot carrier, I would've grabbed it up, too!
Best,
Kimberly
That caddy will be a great prop for your photos. I enjoy your photography – you really are so talented. I haven't tried the chalk paint yet but I ordered one of the books on how to use it (I'm a book junkie).
Love the wire tray with the clay pots…very cool!!
Got my chalk paint and I can't wait to open the can and give it a try. So excited!!

I love the wire caddy! That's something i would buy in a new york minute!!

Love, Love Love the wire caddy. What a great find!
I would like to comment on Tracy's Trinkets and Treasures concern
about the chalk paint scratching off. Not to be concerned! The chalk paint is made to do just that! It is the perfect girls paint because you can continue to change your mind until you are perfectly satisfied. Then simply top-coat with a wax or dead flat varnish.
I have washed the paint off days later when the piece just kept saying "no I really need to be Old Violet". It is the greatest paint in the world!!!!
I love your new find..so pretty..and those clay pots are perfect there!
I checked out that chalk paint site and fell in love..Im desiring some!
Thank you for the info and Ill keep checking in on you!
Have a great week dear xo

That caddy is awesome. I would have grabbed it right up also!
how could you NOT buy the mini pots? one of the cutest things I have ever seen! I Love it!
Love that wire caddy!
I'm new to your blog and just wanted to say that I am kicking myself for not checking out your blog sooner! I've heard your name many times around "blogville" and just never took the time to hop on over. I just finished watching your slipcover video series as I am about to slipcover my very first chair. Great job on that series!!! I love your very detailed step by step process. I actually paid money for a slipcover ebook and was so dissapointed with it. It wasnt nearly as detailed as your videos. So just wanted to say thanks and that I love the blog. You are extremely talented! I will definitely be following along from now on!! 🙂
I adore this wire caddy – wish I could find myself one – it's wonderful 🙂

Sometimes I think I'm the only one waiting for "someday" on my kitchen remodel. Thank you for making me feel better. 🙂
I can't wait for more information on the chalk paint. I have it on my list to purchase, but I was wondering about the wax and if that is a must to use with the paint or can you use other sealers? Looking forward to more details. I have the perfect piece to try it on. 🙂
I know that feeling, and try to follow through when it hits. Often times I'm right and it's a winner. I love how people think of so many creative ways to use items others might discard. Very inspirational. 🙂
Umm, yeah, I would have tried to buy that caddy out from under you if given the chance!
I love, love, love the wire caddy! What a great buy.
Oh how precious! Love it!
If you don't get it when you see it, it won't be there when you decide to go back for it, has always been my motto for a piece that calls out to me. Just love it when an antique speaks to you that way. It's a useful piece for sure. Congratulations on your aquisition.
If I begin to obsess and drool that means I really "need" to buy it b/c you know how it plays out. regret.festering.everywhere you look in your home is the perfect place for the item you left behind.
I gave up years ago. The only stickler is if I just can't afford it. Then I can live with my decision to abstain.
and by the way…I don't blame you, this piece is darling. I would have drooled over it too.
I would have bought it too. What the heck, you only live once!
Jeanine
I LOVE that! can i borrow it while you wait to remodel? 🙂
Oh my goodness – the wire container is too fab – you were smart to get it!! I think you would have been thinking about it for a long time if you hadn't!
Wonderful wire caddy. Yep, I'm one of those excited to see your video/tutorial with the chalk paints. I ordered some and got a nice email letting me know they were on back order until the end of the month. What wonderful customer service!
I don't think I could have walked away from that either! Beautiful.
I absolutely LOVE your blog… I discovered it about a couple of days ago, and I feel like a terrible mother cause all I've done is sit and read and drool over every piece you have re-finished!!!
My question is… The piece that you say you just finished in this post, is the color of the chalk paint "duck egg blue"? Im in the process of ordering some and thats the color I'm going for.
Thanks for all your answers and tutorials, they are of much help!!!
