a closer look at Lucketts

One of my readers left a comment last week asking to see some more of Lucketts.  Here I am, selfishly snapping away pictures of my own room when there are so other many amazing spaces to share.  Well, I’m going to remedy that right now.
For those of you who don’t know what The Old Lucketts Store is, it’s a very old general store/boarding house that was converted into an antique store.  It is the highlight of the one stoplight town that’s a few miles north of Leesburg, VA on Rt 15 and it’s about an hour outside of Washington, DC.  It’s not a traditional antique mall.  It’s a collection of about 30 dealers, designers and artists that flows easily from one room to the next.  It is packed with inspiration and furniture and goodies and one-of-a-kind quirky finds.  Here are some pictures I snapped on Thursday…

I know..right?  Amazing.  You can find out more about the store on their website.  I am so honored to be a vendor there.  If you’re ever in the area, you really should stop in.

  1. Hello Marian,

I love Lucketts! For a few years we would drive past it on the way to NY up rt 15…my husband would never stop ;-< Then one trip I was driving by myself and that was my first stop…needless to say my NY family thought I got lost, I spent so much time browsing through all the gorgeous rooms. It is absolutely worth a drive! Janet xox

  3. As if I didn't already want to come up to Lucketts from your room alone! Now I'm thinking about getting in the car and driving so I can be there first thing in the morning! I am drooling! I mentioned to you last week that a former neighbor lives close to Lucketts. I'll be visiting her VERY soon!
    Have a great weekend!

  4. I too wish it was closer. The quality of goods is so impressive. I also meant to comment on how wonderful your space looks. What is so special about it is that the creative and welcoming feeling you have in your home, is exactly what you have been able to bring to your shop.

  5. Oh my goodness… now i see why you're so honored to be there. Lucketts is amazing, to die for, wonderful, sell your car so you can shop there good… Holy Moly…

    thanks for the pictures

  7. We didn't make it inside the house as we were so overwhelmed with all the outside stuff when we were at the Luckett's Fair to see you. We plan to visit your inside room and the Luckett's store. What cool stuff!

  8. What an amazing place!!! I was planning to be shopping at Luckett's today but unfortunately Hurricane Irene changed our vacation plans… =(

So I guess I'll have to wait for another opportunity…..

  9. Hope they're open the week before Christmas! That's our next trip to Arlington to see our younger son! Putting Luckett's in Carmen the Garmin right now!

  10. Lucketts is an amazing store!

About a year or so ago, the owner of Lucketts bought some really cool stuff from me at the show in Texas!

I would love to visit there sometime!

  11. All of this time I've been thinking Lucketts was out west (not sure why)! Now the next time we visit our friends in VA I will HAVE to go find it! Beautiful things!

  12. Wow – we need one down here. Ever think of opening a Lucketts South in Palm Harbor/Dunedin, FL? We just lost our Antique Mall to a fire. What a great place to show off your style, skills and finds.

  13. We are planning a trip next month to VA, SC and NC. We are renting a car and my wonderful hubby said maybe we should rent a bigger car in case I see something you want to buy. After seeing this should I tell him I want to rent a tractor trailer truck!!! Maybe that's why we are celebrating our 40th anniversary by going on this trip.

  14. Next time I get to VA to see my grandkids, I'm just going to have to take a side trip. This looks like a wonderful place to explore.

  15. Wow, what beautiful booths! Very different than a traditional antique mall. Thanks for documenting the rest of the mall, for those of us that can't travel that far!

  16. I LOVE Lucketts and get down there when I visit family in that area.
I am so sad that I won't be there for the design house opening next weedend!
When I get down there I'll stop by and say hi!

  17. OK, I'm working this out in my brain. I'm a homeschool mom: my son is 8 & in the 3rd grade. I think he's really ALMOST old enough to benefit from a trip to DC (we LOVE museums!). If Lucketts is ONLY an hour away, well… we couldn't NOT go there, right? I could start saving right after Christmas: I think I have a plan!!! 🙂

    Thanks for sharing!

  18. Marian,
Boy, do I wish I lived close enough to visit Luckett's. Your booth is always so wonderful but it's fun to shop the entire place, thank you for that.
I'm so happy for your success. You certainly are talented and deserve the recognition you've received lately.
Happy last weekend of August, hope Irene isn't going to hit your area.

  19. Why, oh why, couldn't Mr. Luckett have lived in Kennesaw, GA???? When, oh when can his new friends move here??? Insert HEAVY sigh………

  20. stumbled onto your blog from a link that I don't even remember – and I now realize that I've seen your stuff at Lucketts this spring when I got my van stuck in the meadow at the Spring Fling! What a small, small world it is. Love your blog, and the store at Lucketts as well!

  21. I literally have an ache in my chest from the thought that I'll probably never go here! This is my heaven, I could go on vacation just to spend days in here, coveting everything.

  22. omg, this is so cool! Thank you for posting where it was. I typically read your blog from google reader so I had no idea you were so close. I am so going to go there!
