It all started with a vote on my Instagram Stories a few weeks ago. I asked my followers what genre of paintings they would like to see more of and animals topped out the poll. I have pressed into still life and landscapes so far this year, so animals seemed like a good direction and, I must say, I have enjoyed working on them over the past month so much. With animals, I need a bit more room on the panel to get in the details, so these works are larger than those in my last few sales. I do have some smaller works, though. I was hoping to get some more small paintings done, but I ended up working more on the backyard and pool and there is only so much time in the day!
A new addition to this original art sale is a couple of framed paintings. I’ve been collecting a stash of antique and vintage frames and it’s time to start raiding that stash! Why am I collecting them if I’m not going to use them?
So, the sale is this coming Friday, July 7, 2023, at 1:00 pm EST. Set your alarms if there is a piece you want! Here are the details of shopping the sale…
- The sale will go live HERE. Paintings will not be visible until 1:00 pm EST on Friday, July 7, 2023. The paintings are first come first serve.
- There is only one of each and they typically sell quickly.
- For faster secure checkout, set up an account and sign in HERE before the sale starts.
- Prices include free shipping to the US.
- The paintings are not reserved in your cart. They are only yours once you pay, so I suggest checking out quickly with the painting you want most and then circling back for other paintings. Shipping is free inside the US, so you will not incur extra charges for checking out separately. I will combine all of your orders and they’ll ship together.
- Every sale, we prepare for the rush of traffic and try to fix any issues from the last sale, but issues can (and do) still happen. Hopefully, this sale will be smooth and everyone gets what they want! If not, just be patient and know we’re doing our best.
- If you do miss out on a painting, you can send me an e-mail and I will give you early access before my next sale goes live.
- All paintings (except the studies on antique linen) are finished with Gamvar Gloss and are meant to be framed without glass.

Bunny Study on Antique Linen 2, approx 4 x 6 1/4″, $35

This is the largest piece I’ve had for sale in years and it’s a little nerve-wracking to put something in the sale that is large, framed, and at a higher price point. But, here it goes! This is Snuggled 2, 16 x 20 oil on board (24 x 27″ framed), in an antique frame, $600. The frame is plaster on wood and was painted gold at some point before I bought it. I added some antiquing wax to make the gold a little softer. (Update – SOLD)

Here is the other framed piece. I painted a Maud Earl (who was famous for painting dogs) study last year and I’m often asked about it when it’s visible in pictures or video. So, I decided to do an original painting inspired by Maud Earl’s style. German Shorthaired Pointer Portrait, 14 x 18″ (at the widest point of frame), $450.
