FURNITURE FEATURE FRIDAY – Favorites & Link Party

Good evening, all!  Tonight, I had practice for our church Christmas play and my husband took the boys out trick-or-treating.  When I got home, I handed out candy and got the cold, wet little boys in their jammies.  My youngest was wearing a Spiderman costume with fake polyfil muscles and it cracked me up.  Our town is little (two stoplights), but it is hopping on Halloween.  The first year we lived here, we just got a small bag of candy, thinking we couldn’t possibly have more visitors than we did in our townhouse in the DC metro area.  Come on.  Everyone knows that townhouses are money when it comes to trick-or-treating!  So, we were floored when we ran out of candy shortly after dark and had to run out to get more.
We moved into our home in October, so events like the Apple Harvest Festival and Halloween bring back the memories of our first few weeks in our new home.
Anyway, onto FFF and my favorites.  In honor of Halloween, I picked favorites in black…

I love this channel back chair redo by Mimi of Blue Roof Cabin.  I know what a challenge these chairs are, so I tip my hat to anyone who’s willing to tackle one.  The fabrics are perfect as well…that black and white houndstooth on the back is brilliant.

I think Wendy from Sometimes Twice did a wonderful job with this small chest of drawers.  The distressing brings out the detail of the piece and the black paint gives this chest a classic look.  It just shows that black doesn’t have to be boring.

Lastly, this bench redo by The Prudent Homemaker is fantastic.  The bench was weather-worn and tired and now it looks sharp and like a great place to rest and enjoy the outdoors.

Here are the rules for our furniture get-together…
1.) Your post has to be about furniture. Please, please, please…just furniture. If you find your link has been deleted, it’s not because I’m mean, it’s because your post was not about furniture. You can share makeovers, awesome finds, favorite pieces, furniture arrangements, or even pieces on your wish list! Built-in furniture like kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanities qualify as furniture.
2.) Post a permalink (the link to the post), not the link to your blog.
3.) This party will close Friday at midnight PST and I will choose my favorite(s) and feature their piece(s) on next week’s FFF. Enjoy the party!

  4. This is my first time to join the party(any kind) ever. Also, the dresser I listed was my first refurbished furniture. I am so glad that it was you, Miss Mustard Seed, who gave me this chance to come out to the world. Thank you.

  5. Love the kitchen redo. It was very encouraging to see a kitchen done inexpensively but with such a WOW factor. It is the inspiration I’ve been looking for! Thanks!

  6. Thanks for hosting your party every week. I am always so inspired by your work and other’s creativity!
    Make it a wonderful weekend.

  7. I love all the inspiration! In the middle of my own make over, transforming an antique commode into a changing table. I am stuck in how to gain some height, without looking tacky. Need about 5 inches, can anybody help???

  8. I never would have thought to stencil a chandelier inside the door of the armoire. So cute! I’ve been using chalkboard paint on the inside of the doors. It’s a nice surprise for the little girls when they open their armoire or chifferobes for the first time & find the chalkboard inside waiting for them.
