I am excited that so many of you are joining me in organizing and/or no-spending in February. A part of purging for me is selling the original oil paintings that have been stacking up in my studio and I realized I had better sneak this sale in before February starts for those who are joining me! Poor planning on my part and I had to laugh when I realized I was going to have an art sale while encouraging a no-spend February. So, the sale will be HERE on Friday, January 29, 2021, at 2:00 pm CST. So you can plan and decide if there are pieces you want to purchase or not, here is a full preview of the original oil paintings that will be for sale along with the prices (ranging from $35-200.)
9 x 12 Goldfinch Study – $200
I did this study to film for an online art class a couple of weeks ago. I love how it turned out and I’m tempted to keep it for myself, but I’m going to sell this one and do another one. It’s 9 x 12, original oil on an oil primed linen panel. (PS – I haven’t promoted it yet, but if you’re interested in learning how to do this painting, there is a new art class available on my website. You can purchase it and enroll HERE.)

8 x 10 original oil landscapes & still life paintings – $160
All of these 8 x 10 paintings are either from the Nice View series or a small series of still life paintings I did. These are all original oils either on oil-primed linen panels or acrylic primed canvas panels.

8 x 10 oil black & white study – $120
I wasn’t planning on selling this one initially, since it was a black & white study I did for an art class, but I had several people ask about buying it, so here it is! It’s an original oil, 8 x 10 on an oil-primed linen panel. The silver baby cup was mine and it has my initials engraved on the side and an imprint of Raggedy Ann on the bottom. I paired it with an antique escargot pot. I was nervous about painting something reflective, but I love how it turned out and will definitely paint more silver in the future.

5 x 7 oil landscape paintings – $45/each
These are all original oil paintings on Arches Oil Paper. The variation of the paper color from picture to picture is due to the lighting. All of the paper is a soft white.

4 x 6 oil landscape paintings – $35/each
These are also original oils on 4 x 6 Arches oil paper…

4 x 6 oil painting landscape pair – $70
I felt like these two needed to stay together, so I’m selling them as a pair…

5 x 7 oil seascape paintings – $45/each

4 x 6 oil seascape paintings – $35/each

4 x 6 acrylic paintings – $35/each
I mostly did oils for this sale, but I do have a few acrylics. The first two will be sold as a pair for $70 and the other two are being sold individually. These are original acrylics and mixed media (watercolor crayons & colored pencils) on acrylic paper.

The sale will go live on my shop page HERE at 2:00 CST this Friday.
Just a head’s up, the paintings go quickly, so I would suggest knowing what you want and making a bee-line for it. Having a piece in your cart does not reserve it for you. If someone else has it in their cart and checks out first, they will get it and it will disappear from your cart. Sorry! If you want to try to buy multiple paintings, I would suggest buying them one at a time, so you don’t lose one while you’re looking for the others. Shipping is free to US buyers, so it won’t cost you more to check out separately.
Let me know if you have any questions!

Hoping I’m lucky this time, at least it’s not in the middle of the night for me this time.
So many beautiful paintings. That silver cup came out so well! It must give you immense satisfaction to see all these works grouped together. Delicious textures and colours!
Hello
How do I bid on the paintings I would really like to get the black berries
They will all be for sale tomorrow at the prices listed. I’m not selling them auction-style at this point although I may offer that again in the future!
Hi! Is your finch still for sale? Are others? I noticed in your gallery, all were sold. Beautiful painting and pieces. I love the study of colors on linen too!
Hello again
Will you have any cow portraits for sale soon
Yes, I’ve had more requests for cows from my licensing agent, so I’ll be doing more cows. 🙂
Marian, I want to take the Master class of the finch. If I sign up can I do it when I have the time or do I need to do it when you are teaching it? I work during the day and I’m not available to paint until, usually, the weekends.
It is a prerecorded class that you can do on your own time and will be available to you as long as my site is on the internet! I would say “forever”, but that’s a bit presumptuous! 🙂
These are all lovely. I have my eye on a couple…fingers crossed.
Question – will you be adding your signature to the pieces currently not signed?? (I hope so.)
Thank you
Yes! Some I photographed before I signed them, but they will all be signed. The ones on board come with a sticker on the back with the date painted, my website, title of the painting, etc. and the ones on paper have info on the back in pencil.
Thank you!!!……………………………………………..
Marian,
You are one talented lady!
Excellent……just in time for no spending February!
I have watched your upholstery videos on youtube but had not idea you were also a painter until I received this email. Your paintings are absolutely beautiful! I love your style and technique and the colors are amazing!
Definitely going to try and get one painting and I will be doing the goldfinch!!
I always love your landscapes, but the bowl of blackberries reminds me of pulling my little granddaughter around in a wagon to help pick our blackberries. She is unable to walk, so we do what we can to include her in everything, including berry picking! I can’t shop your sale this time but hope to get a painting in the future. Your posts are always beautiful and inspiring. ?
I would love a still life with cherries – can I commission one? I work so I can never snap up the ones you sell online this way. My family owned a cherry farm and I love them!
I love cherries, too! They are my very favorite fruit, but I can’t get fresh ones right now. I’ll paint some this summer.
Will your Van Gogh style landscape painting be offered in the future?
I just did that one in my sketchbook, so I’ll have to do a few versions on paper and/or canvas to sell! I’ll do that soon because a lot of people have asked. 🙂
Marian, your website continues to be an inspiration and I have to congratulate you on the fair and informed way you have set up the sale. I hope I can get to one I would like to purchase but appreciate the “system” you are working with. I’m sure other buyers appreciate your upfrontness!
Good Morning,
If I wanted to follow your oil painting journey where/what date would I have to go back…to see from the beginning?
~Jenny
Oh dang it and here I was thinking I was shopping early. Wasn’t thinking about our time differences. Doggone it.
Marian, you had a cliff view of a sailboat that I swear looks like you were on the island I grew up on and painted.
Do you do commision work of like items? I am so bummed I got the time wrong. I thought I had 3 hours and now the paintings are all sold out. Good for you, though. I am so happy for you. I love your art – your colors and shadowing and textures. Sigh.
Stay well.
Omg so aggravated! I created an account..waiting for the art sale. Once it started I kept getting 505 errors. Finally got in, selected a painting and got cart symbol and then a bright green checkmark. Went to my orders and nothing there! Did this TWICE after going in and out of the errors. Then all sold out.
Yes, I am so sorry! The site was overloaded and kept crashing. I was so frustrated as well and knew that some people who jumped right on the sale still weren’t able to check out. I am working with my hosting this week to make sure my site can handle a spike in traffic in the future. It’s unacceptable to have 504 errors during a sale. My apologies.
I missed the Goldfinch Study. I am so disappointed. If you ever paint another, I am very interested.
Thanks,
Angela
Oh I SO love your paintings! Also, SO sad that I didn’t discover you until today (via Laurel Home Blog!)
Will hope that you’ll have more originals for sale in the not too distant future!
