Here's a little throw-back-Thursday furniture make Here's a little throw-back-Thursday furniture makeover for you!. This piece was an absolute beast and I bought and painted two of them! I had gray paint up to my elbows from sticking my arm in those cubbies. These cabinets were a lot of work, but they turned out so well. I sold them a few years ago at the Lucketts Spring Market. The cabinet is painted in @mmsmilkpaint Farmhouse White with a custom-mixed gray interior. Swipe left to see the before. #tbt #throwbackthursday #furnituremakeover #paintedfurniture #milkpaint #iheartmilkpaint #mmsmilkpaint #missmustardseed #inspiration #antiques #ironstone #farmhousewhite
I haven't shared this little guy on the grid, yet, I haven't shared this little guy on the grid, yet, so here you go! One thing I worked on during my no-spend/organizing month in February was to complete more painting commission requests. A commercial client requested a cow "portrait." This one ended up being a little too hairy, so I'm going to do another one, but the original will be for sale and I'll sell prints on Society6. On the blog today, I'm sharing a full recap of my no-spend February - the spending exceptions I made, what I bought when the month was over, and what I learned. (Link in profile.) Painting is an original oil on 8x10 oil-primed linen panel. #oilpainting #cowpainting #cow #cowportrait #originaloilpainting #missmustardseed #inspiration #comissions #painting #art #fineart #neverstoplearning
On the blog today, I'm sharing how I organized my On the blog today, I'm sharing how I organized my yarn and got the stash under control. Instead of organizing strictly by color, I took the advice of seasoned "yarn collectors" and organized by weight. I can't tell you how much easier it is for me to know what I have to work with! I do have a lot of swatches to knit, but that's a good task for when we're watching TV in the evenings. I share more of the process on the blog today (and the comments are great!). On the blog today, I’m sharing about some knitti On the blog today, I’m sharing about some knitting organization. Despite my early frustrations that involved a lot of unraveling, I am getting the hang of knitting and I am really enjoying it!  I find it's a nice way to be productive while I'm watching TV in the evenings with Jeff and the boys. There’s a lot of gear and little bits that come along with this new hobby, though, so here is how I’m keeping it organized (although the yarn collection has gotten away from me a bit!) #knitting #blueandwhite #organization #yarn #missmustardseed #inspiration #knittingsocks #neverstoplearning
The top of this built-in is styled, but the bottom The top of this built-in is styled, but the bottom definitely wasn't! On the blog today, I'm sharing the before and after of organizing our family photo and what it led to... making a cookbook of my great-grandmother’s scanned recipes and discovering that my great-grandfather was a King of England. Please address me as Lady Marian from now on. I found another surprising family connection with one of the founding fathers, too. Genealogy has me hooked. You can see all of the details, including resources, by following the link in my profile. Have you discovered any interesting family connections? #genealogy #organizing #rabbittrails #missmustardseed #inspiration #blueandwhite #ironstone #transferware #antiques #history #decorating #shelfstyling #styling
