We Are the Women Who Blog

Do you realize how awesome we are?  I’ve been thinking about all of the hats we wear as DIY bloggers and I was pretty darn impressed with us as a group.
We sew and slipcover…
…design rooms…
…and take pictures all along the way.
We repaint, refinish, reinvent, and repurpose.
We build…
…by ourselves and on a budget.
And we inspire others to get out their big-boy power tools and follow in our footsteps.
We rescue, reupholster, and renew.
And then we teach others how to do it, too.
We are our own stylist, photographer, writer, editor, publicist, tech team, marketing firm, and sales force.
And most of us are moms, hold full time jobs, and/or own a business.
We are the women who blog.
And we are a force to be reckoned with.

  3. Thanks for the reminder. It's so easy to get caught up in all the "doing" that we really DO forget how awesome we are.

  4. Oh yes we are! I feel like I belong to a secret club and I only tell my very best girls the blogs I really love to visit…I pretend it's our little secret!

  5. What a wonderful, inspiring and supportive post! I feel like I can take on the world today…Thank you! If we all gathered together to march down the road in a celebration parade, you would be the majorette, leading a very long and colorful line of creative hearts!

  6. Preach it sister!! You forgot to mention…

Most of us have another job too. Called motherhood!

We truly are amazing creatures. A force to be reckoned with. Maybe we could, idk, rule the earth with our savvy skills?

  7. Great post! And, I have to agree. I just recently started blogging, but have been doing all of the above for a very long time.

  8. Gosh I could hear the music in the background as your words were being said and I then felt like getting ontop of a soap box and shouting to the world…."Look at me, hear me, I am a bloggerette!"

We are special, not doubt about it and I kinda feel sorry for the ones that don't blog.

Wonerful post. Love it. Well said.

  12. Thank goodness there are people like you who can so eloquently give a voice to what we are all thinking/feeling! This was a bright spot in my day. Thank you!

I can't say I do all those things you mentioned, or do them very well – but I'm going to give myself a pat on the back today anyway!

  14. Sending a sweet hello from Frog Hollow Farm. Wow! I am so impressed with all that you and many other bloggers do on their own. I used to do more on my own but have chickened out lately. You, however, have inspired me to take a look around the house and begin a project like I used to do. Thanks for posting such an elegant but powerful message! Ciao, bella!

  15. I never thought of it this way. You're right!! We are!! Wow, I really like this.
    Thanks,

PS…I'm trying your dining room chairs. I absoutely can't stop thinking about them, and going over to stare at my chairs and getting lost in what they will look like finished. I hope you don't mind.

  16. AMEN! Big cyber pats on the back to everyone that's gone before us, to all of us blogging now & to those that are coming up in the ranks.

  17. Seriously!! We are our own brainstorming team, supply shoppers, market researchers, photo editors, shipping cost estimators…whew!! It's big work.

Great post! Inspiring and lovely. It's all worth it though, right?!
