Happy Easter everyone!
I was going to post yesterday, but I was getting a “server rejected” notice from Blogger last night for every picture I tried to upload. I finally put them on my website and grabbed them from there, since it’s still not working this morning. Don’t “they” know we have to blog AND show pictures?!? I’m sure it will get sorted out.
I wanted to first show how my bathroom is coming along…
It’s not happening fast, but it’s happening. This is sort of a tortoise kind of reno, more than a hare.
I am starting to feel some stress about filling up all of my spaces for the May Lucketts Antique Market. I rented two outdoor spaces, plus I have my pavilion and a few pieces to put in Karen’s space inside. Hoping to alleviate some of the stress of an empty stash and the biggest fair of the year on my doorstep, I went to an auction Friday night.
For the first time ever, I came home empty-handed from an auction. Things were going for outrageous prices. A table with the leg falling off of it went for over $100 and a cute little desk I had my eye on went for $175. That was my cue to head home. All I took home were the calories consumed from eating a bag of chips and some peanut M&M;’s. Bummer.
Saturday, we went out to hit some yard sales and thrift stores to see if we could find some furniture at decent prices. I’ve always been afraid to pull the trigger on a huge lot of pieces when I find them. The thrifter in me just doesn’t like writing a big check, even if everything I’m buying is a good deal. Well, I got over that one yesterday and wrote a big fat check for an empire dresser, a desk and chair, a French provincial dining room set, an upholstered arm chair, and two china cabinets. In addition, I found a dresser and small music cabinet at an antique store and another dresser at a yard sale.
I also found some ironstone, wire baskets, a metal mold, an enamel light shade and a few other cobwebbed covered goodies at a barn sale.
‘
Now, I’ve gotta get to work!

Happy Easter!!!
Howza'bout going to some of those "storage unit" auctions? You could probably hook up with someone there to purchase all your left over junk from each unit you bought after you pulled out any furniture….. I'd do it, but I'd end up keeping ALL THE JUNK too lol
Oh, I thought this was going to be as in "Check the fat calories in Easter brunch." Have a blessed Easter!
Happy Easter! Beautiful finds. Hope you enjoy the day with your family.
Your bathroom looks beautiful! Happy Easter!
I know what your mean. I love a deal, but sometimes you just gotta go for it when you see it. The furniture has great lines, from what I can see, and I love the wire baskets.
Those look like some nice new treasures. Don't worry, it will all come together. You do a great job!
I'm so loving your bathroom. It's looking g o o d!!
Maybe it was something in the air yesterday, I scoured Craigs list for hours looking for one dresser, not too much to ask. I don't even want to sell it, I needed it for my son's room, something simple, yet well made and affordable. Nada! Zip! Zero! or I would have to drive an hour to look at something and with gas prices…well you know the rest of the story.
Hope you are enjoying your Easter 🙂
Score! Sometimes you have to strike when the iron is HOT! It looks like you did just that 🙂
Happy Easter! Great finds and you better get busy working on all your great finds.
The bath is looking sooo vintage lovely! I'm looking forward to the big reveal, I know it will be drop dead georgeous!! Say how much for a table with the leg falling off????? I would say those people had to have a bad case of auction fever, I've seen that a time or two at auctions where junk sells for big $$. Must be a good auctioneer or something in the air!!?? You got all that at one yard sale?? They must have cleaned out the house, the basement and the attic……lucky for you! Sounds like between that, the antique shop and the last yard sale dresser you will have your work cut out for you for at least a day or
two!! Wish I could help, enjoy!! Happy Easter to you and yours!! Take care, VBg
I am exhausted just thinking about you working on all these pieces! Happy Easter!
Marion, I have had the same problem with blogger recently. I googled how to fix it. I read I needed to revert back to the old blogger for a post and then switch back to the new set up. I did this and nada… did not work…but after I posted a couple of times I tried it again today and there was my Easter surprise. I was once again able to upload my pictures. I don't know why this happens but maybe that will help….. hope so anyway.. who cares abut the auction when you scored such treasures at yard and thrift sales!! As usual, you have your work cut out for you. Happy Easter!
I know EXACTLY what you mean about not wanting to spend $$ even if it's a good deal! I'm so cheap. My husband on the other hand is the opposite, kinda funny, I think our roles are reversed! We even each other out. That's what I like to tell myself anyway so I dont have a panic attack ;). Can't wait to see all your finished projects!!

Love how the bathroom is coming along. Really happy for you that you did find good stuff at thrift prices – how else will you continue to shine. Love your blog, your advice, your tutorials, your Luckett's space … I could go on and on. Happy Easter.

Great finds and I can't wait to see what you do with them..Sometimes ya gotta bite the bullet and run with your gut..Happy Easter..Can't wait to see them in your spot..
Yay for your finds! I understand about the auction prices…I frequent Estate Auctions where I live and the prices have went WAY up. {I'm wanting to blame it on these junkin' reality shows. grumble, grumble. lol}
Wishing you MUCH success with your upcoming Market! 🙂
happy Easter to you too!! you would be fun to shop with!! take care, susan
Happy Easter! I wished I could find bargains here in Tennessee like the ones you find. I just never seem to luck up on anything. Someplaces want waayyyy to much $$$ for what they are selling. I am a thrifter too. Love your blog and I am still lovin my table that you helped me find the right products to refinish it with. Hey, maybe one friday, I will post on your Furniture Friday link. Have a good week!!!

My goodness! That's a TON of stuff. It's obvious that you are young and strong! I like to take on a lot, but that amount of stuff would make me crazy! Good for you! I can't wait to see what you do with it all! You continue to be an inspiration!
wishing you a Happy Easter!!!
What a stash of goodies you hauled in from your shopping ip yesterday!!! Cant wait to see what they look like when you get them painted!!! Check out my new blog too…
Sounds like you will be busy for a while. Have fun, I always have a problem what to work on first.
GREAT finds – definitely worth the $$$. Love the bathroom floor too – it's coming together beautifully and I love the look. How sad is it that when I read your blog post title that the words "a fat check" made me think about the scale, given all of the Easter candy I've consumed. A fat check is definitely in order. Yep, too much fat. Check. Going to the gym tomorrow. 😉
Your booths are going to be chocked full of treasures. Good luck with your projects! Cherry Kay
oh that looks like a wonderful load of stuff! Don't you just love it when you "gotta get to work" but it's on fun and wonderful things?
In the Pursuit of Cuter Clothes
Marian…wouldn't I love to tag along with you on your shopping trips! You seem to find some amazing things..and at great prices!
Good Luck with all the "redo's"….can't wait to see them all…hmm, wonder what chalk paint will find its way on to these pieces!?
Happy Easter!
