Furniture Feature Friday – Favorites & a Link Party

I know I say it often, but it really was tough to pick some favorites this week!  There were some amazing dressers, slipcovers, chairs…lots of good stuff.  I hope you took some time to browse around.  Here are some I thought were stand-outs…

Allison and Kyle from Two Thirty-Five Designs gave this sleepy chair and graphic, bold makeover.  It’s totally not what I would do, but I absolutely love it!  This chair is hot like wow.

One of my favorite “linker-uppers” at FFF is Adri from Dream Book Designs.  I am convinced that she and her handy hubby can take on any project and make it look amazing.  Painting a zillion drawers of a card catalog file?  Kid stuff.  Turning a drafting table base into a dining room table?  Piece of cake.  They’re amazing.  Maybe a little sickening, but amazing.
Rosemary from Villabarnes transformed this French chair with her own mixture of gesso.  This project was very inexpensive and it looks fabulous!  What can I say?  I’m just a sucker for a French chair.  Every time.

Enjoy the party!
Here are the rules for our furniture get-together…
1.) Your post has to be about furniture.  Please, please, please…just furniture.  If you find your link has been deleted, it’s not because I’m mean, it’s because your post was not about furniture.  You can share makeovers, awesome finds, favorite pieces, furniture arrangements, or even pieces on your wish list!  Built-in furniture like kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanities qualify as furniture.
2.) Post a permalink (the link to the post), not the link to your blog.
3.) This party will close Saturday at midnight PST and I will choose my favorite(s) and feature their piece(s) on next week’s FFF.

  1. Hi Marian,
Thanks so much for featuring my chair. I stopped by to see the features, and got this wonderful surprise. I love your blog, and appreciate the compliment.

  2. I "like" the like button associated with each link. I don't always have time to comment on people's posts even if I have perused them.

  3. Love the chair too! I featured it on Wednesdsay for Restored It Wednesday. It's gorgeous. I had the same thought. I wouldn't have done it, but I LOVED looking at it. It's a stunner.

  4. Such wonderful ideas! I love seeing what everone does with ordinary pieces of furniture. Thanks for hosting the link party!

  5. Thanks for the great party!!! I accidentally posted the wrong post on your party but it won't let me delete it! It's #64… so sorry! I swear linky-parties used to have a delete option… my bad! That's what I get for trying to do too many things at once! But I finally got my yellow chair posted after a few tried. It's just one of those days! 🙂

  6. Will I be penalized if I click "Like" for each and every one of the entries? The creativity out there is unbelievable!

Oh and that drafting table is divine but those chairs…..Da Bomb!!!

  7. Seriously doubt you would have time, but in case you do…I rescued a french settee from the dump and was wondering is there any way of keeping the burlap that is attached to the springs..it just seems so gross and didn't know if it could be salvagable? Otherwise that could be very spendy I'm guessing to have it totally remade? anyway help if you can

  8. Linked! Voted! and totally inspired! Thanks Marian for hosting. Your blog is such an invaluable resource for all of us in a million different ways.
    Have a great weekend.

  9. I love coming here and being inspired, AND instructed, too. Thank you for your generous sharing of your experience and expertise, AND for hosting Furniture Friday. For a furniture junkie like me, it's my internet crack.

That red chair you featured today?
    Spectacular!
I know a little French chair in my house that is now quaking in its little boots. If it had boots.
Have a grand weekend! — Cass

  10. I just posted my child's chair project on your blog; this is my first attempt (I'm a new blogger) and am soooooooo happy that I did it correctly! Love your website and projects…you are awesome.
