$100 Shopping Credit to Pine Cone Hill…

I have the honor of being a guest over at Annie Selke’s Blog Fresh America today.   Annie Selke is known for her flawless taste, fabrics, Dash & Albert rugs and Pine Cone Hill Bedding, so I wanted to share a project that would compliment her products.  I came up with making a slipcover for a small ottoman/foot stool out of a vintage tea towel and some trim.  The sewing is super easy and quick!  Check out the full tutorial HERE.

AND we’re each running a $100 shopping credit to Pine Cone Hill, Annie’s bedding company.  (I got my beautiful bedding from Pine Cone Hill.)

(I love the blue & white throw featured in the photo below.  May have to get that!  You know me with blue & white!)

To enter the giveaway, simply leave a comment here on this post.  My giveaway will close Sunday, Jane 16, 2013, at midnight PST.  Only readers over the age of 18 are eligible to win.  The giveaway on Annie’s blog closes on June 20, 2013, so you have a bit more time to enter over there.

Good luck!

Disclosure: This is not a paid promotional post.  I just love this company and wanted to partner with them.  I have received free bedding from Pine Cone Hill  in exchange for advertising in the past, but this post is not a part of that trade.

  172. Last summer, my husband and I purchased a forty year old cottage on the water in Fairhope, AL. I have had more fun than I can share in renovating, restoring and decorating this little place. We, both, wanted the house to be updated (considering there was no electricity or running water) yet, still have the feel of an “older” time. By accident, I came across MMSP and instantly fell in love! I have about eight pieces lined up to endure the impact of my “personal artistic side”. One has been completed and I am thrilled as to how it turned out. The rest are getting squeezed in this summer between kids, camps and travels. I also have several D&A rugs that I have purchased and placed on our new hardwoods. They add just the right amount of fun and “color punch” to give the place a ‘perky” feeling! Love checking your blog for new ideas! Would be thrilled, ecstatic and out of my mind excited if I were to win a credit for MMSP, D&A rugs or PCH bedding! Thank you for providing the opportunity!

  173. I would love love love to win. Also, I know you aren’t going to have time to read thru all these comments – you have around a million already. But if you do, there’s a typo on your post. welcome in my bedroom.

  320. Wow Marian- I would truly love some bedding from Pine Cone Hill. Thank you for offering the contest. Have a fantastic weekend!

  321. Twelve years ago my husband and I became the modern day Brady Bunch. We went looking for a house that would accommodate our six collective kids. Our house wasn’t love at first, or second, or even THIRD sight, but it had a bazillion bedrooms and bathrooms, and we knew we could make it work.

Over the years we’ve stripped, painted, planted, and I was given carte blanche to shabby chic the heck out of our farmhouse…woo hoo! Christie Repasy is all over my pink palace.

Fast forward to one month ago…the last kid just graduated college, we empty nesters were on a Saturday drive and what did we discover? A lovely 100 year old mini castle that my darling husband fell head over heels in love with. How could I say no? We made a crazy offer, they said YES and we sold our pretty house and are in the process of selling most of our belongings because, you see, the castle has original tiles and bathrooms and floors and every single thing is an albeit beautiful shade of BLUE that completely clashes with nearly everything we own…sad face.

So as I repaint and or sell our current belongings I dream of how it’s one day going to look. I have to dream, because I may have carte blanche in this place too, but I’ve still got a budget. And what I’ve been dreaming for most is a lovely blue coverlet from Pine Cone Hill to replace the pink quilts that currently cover our iron bed.

I spend a lot of time in that bed, because somewhere, somehow, when I was planting at the pink palace I got Lyme Disease…double sigh. I know…collective BOO FREAKING HOO from everyone else reading this post.

We all need it. We all want it. We all deserve it. I just have a story like everyone else and I decided to share mine.

Yesterday I watched Cinderella for the first time in my life with my two year old grandson,(in the said big bed…we call it the tree house so he doesn’t mind when he has to visit me there on my rough days). I nearly cried listening to her sing, “A dream is a wish your heart makes…”. I did cry when my sweet little boy tried to sing along. So today thank you Miss Mustard Seed for letting us all share our dreams of making our homes just a little bit prettier one coverlet at a time. happy face…from a happy heart.
