FURNITURE FEATURE FRIDAY – Favorites & Link Party

Good evening, all!  I didn’t have a chance to pick favorites last week, so I made sure I looked through the entries from last week to pick those that stood out to me.  Here are the ones that caught my eye…
Oh, a quick note.  We’re working on not having the “Pin it” buttons on the link party.  I definitely want people going to your sites to see your beautiful work and pinning what they like from there.  Until we get that figured out, please click on the picture, not the red “pin it” button and that will take you to the original source.  Thanks!
Jill at Sew a Fine Seam can definitely sew!  I love the two slipcovers she made in this post and she even shares a tutorial.  I know slipcovers seem so intimidating, but they are very doable and a bench with simple lines like this are a great place to start!
I love, love this pretty yellow piece by Leilouta.  The chipping is perfect and the hand painted boarder suits the style of the piece.  Did I say I love this piece?  I do.
I think this pink piece by Mary of Orphans with Makeup is so sweet.  The wood top adds a nice contrast along with the dark hardware.  Even though it’s pink and perfectly at home in a little girl’s room, it will grow up nicely as well.
Fit for a little princess!
Here are the rules for our furniture get-together…
1.) Your post has to be about furniture. Please, please, please…just furniture. If you find your link has been deleted, it’s not because I’m mean, it’s because your post was not about furniture. You can share makeovers, awesome finds, favorite pieces, furniture arrangements, or even pieces on your wish list! Built-in furniture like kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanities qualify as furniture.
2.) Post a permalink (the link to the post), not the link to your blog.
3.) This party will close Friday at midnight PST and I will choose my favorite(s) and feature their piece(s) on next week’s FFF. Enjoy the party!

    Suzanne (Karin’s Bloggy Buddy)

  2. I’m sure Marian is all over this glitch- it the meantime, I’ll act as a kind of temp food- hostess and take drink orders (no booze though)… anyone for some hot choc?

Cookies on the lovely table that I’m sure she would have ready for all of her party guests!
    Giggles,
    Suzanne

  3. hmmm…. maybe marian’s testing our creativity and pushing us to describe our projects with words!! or maybe the “miss mustard seed energizer bunny” has deservedly gone to bed!

    1. take whatever kinda party you can get..hopefully things are getting better for you Shelly…Did you get your microwave installed yet???

  4. and since you asked, suzanned, i’ll take a skim milk, fat-free marshmallow semi-sweet warm chocolate mug of yum, please.

  5. Man, Marian is loved! Now this is fan-dom!

I have more hot chocolate warming, help yourself.

(Please use a coaster- her tables are too pretty not to!) Wonder how many of us could fit in her lovely home?
    ~Suz

    1. I wanna get some hot cocoa and just walk thru her house ooohing…and ahhhinnng….:) Or maybe we with goldilocks it and she will find us all sleeping in her beds when she gets back…:)

  6. OK, Amy, you’ve got it! (Fat free marshmellow?? Goodness- you are trying to for “good” list this year aren’t you??!)

And Kerry is spiking egg nog- she’s on the “other” list… LOL

OH OH! I smell the cookie’s burning- BRB
    LOL
    ~Suzanne

  7. hum, describe my piece in words?? It took 3 quarts of Chalk Paint! I might need a whole chapter in her new book. 😉 I gotta idea–let’s name her new book!

  8. oh, suzanne, i’m just making up for all the cookie dough i’ve been licking off my fingers.

perhaps marian is busy watching that new flat screen tv and doesn’t smell the burning cookies nor hear us whispering in the wind….

  9. OK, more hot choc being made (and cookies didn’t burn). Hope Marian doesn’t mind I ‘jacked’ her pretty kitchen.

Love the new big TV but actually I MISS the fireplace. Oh well, I ADORE her house!

BTW, Miss Marian, I can’t find fat-free marshmellows! Full flavored ok?

Help yourself, and remember to use coasters folks!

I’ll be in the Blog Squad powder room peeking around at the nice new baseboard!

    Smiles, Suzanne

    1. You are so funny. I love fireplaces usually, but this one was ugly and we didn’t turn it on once in five years. It really looked better in photos than it did in person, so I don’t miss it one bit!

      1. HI Marian! Nice to see you. You said in your post it was nicer in photos. (I trust your judgement) I have ALWAYS wanted a fireplace– it’s a kid-thing I think.

Hope you don’t mind I “jacked” the party while you were working.

Your guests are very nice (fans) and soooo helpful. I caught two of them doing dishes. We even used some of your pretty serving pieces. (Ironstone)

Oh, your youngest son (banchee, isn’t that what you call him in your videos?) stopped by and I gave him a cookie and milk and he headed back to bed.

        Sorry for waking him!
        Smiles, Suzanne
(BTW, the glitter letters you sold me and mailed to me for hub’s project was a HUGE hit for our recently wedding anniverary. He was SHOCKED because I taped your biz card on the back! He thought I was “gusty” for writing asking you to sell me some)

  10. hmmm… you’re really pushing those coasters, suzanne. are those the ones you mod podged with photos of your finished projects and sent marian as an early christmas gift? 😉

  11. LOL…you girls are a riot! Maybe we need to have a chat some time! Anyway, I was looking at Craig’s List and didn’t realize the code had disappeared from my post. I don’t know why that happens with WP, but I’ve had trouble with that since moving. The party is up now, so link away. I’m glad you had a good time in my absense. 🙂

  12. Goodness, three quarts?? Goodness you must have quiet a piece now!

Hope you didn’t have to mortgage the house to the hilt!

BTW, hubby is asking “How many at MMS party yet” and I just yelled back “The linky tools were just fixed, we’ve been visiting and having a party in cyberspace— go get some more ice for us and more skim milk please” and he was laughing!!!

Congrats on the linky tools back online!

    Dying to see everyone’s goodies!

Cookie dough (4 kinds) available, and a plate or two still on the counters- help yourself.

    Smiles,
    Suzanne

  13. BTW, special request for Chai Tea (in email) from Karin so– help yourself– I wouldn’t be much of a hostess standby without some nice chai tea— good idea!

  14. I’m nearly ashamed to say, that I didn’t have a new piece this week to offer, but a neat piece I did earlier this year that I love and hubby still talks about (Sheet Music Bookshelf)…. where did I get the original idea to mod podge sheet music?

Where else, here at MISS MUSTARD SEED’s! (aka: party central!)

    ~Suz

    1. always the sweetie!! The tea was delish, thanks….:) You know what makes me happy….
Cant wait to see the shelf Suzanne..:)
      Karin

    1. oh man!! I LOVE churro’s…but glad YOU ate them…I ate all my salted caramel chocolate cookies……:) so I think its good that the churro’s are gone..:)

  20. Over the summer I bought the same exact dresser that Deanna at Alchemy repainted at Goodwill for $18! It’s been sitting in my garage waiting for me to redo. I can’t wait! Thanks so much for hosting!!

I don’t have a website but I do work at Pikes Peak Habitat ReStore and have been repurposing many items. This was once an ugly upper kitchen cabinet that I’ve turn into a wonderful bench for a mud room or any room. I hope you are able to see it You’ll see the before pictures on our store’s FB page.

    Thanks for the great ideas.

  25. Very good website you have here but I was curious if you
knew of any message boards that cover the same topics talked
about in this article? I’d really like to be a part of online community where I can get opinions from other experienced individuals that share the same interest. If you have any recommendations, please let me know. Thank you!

  26. “Batman Monopoly” would be the classic game of real estate, but uses playing
pieces within the shapes with the Batman symbol, a diamond,
Robin’s motorcycle and also the Bat mobile. Earlier, PS3 users had to use a Netflix supplied disc
for streaming. Plus, since it comes right above L1 and R1 buttons, switching between the four forward-facing buttons invariably does up with your fingers scraping the bottom of the
    keypad.
