I was looking through the links from last week and I had the urge to look for French chairs and Empire dressers on craigslist. I surfed around and found a pretty Empire dresser for a good price about an hour away. I was asking my husband about the distance for pickup and he leaned into me and said, “Let’s just focus on one thing at a time.” I’m feeling the itch to paint some furniture, and I’ll get to for some of my tutorials, but I do need to work through those before I can work on getting pieces ready for the Lucketts Antique Market.
Anyway, here are some pieces that caught my eye from last week…
I think this table by Tiffany of The Crafty Woman is so pretty and clever. It’s actually pieces of wood cut in a herringbone pattern and stained. Tedious work, but an awesome result.
Allison from The Golden Sycamore gave this secretary a beautiful makeover with ASCP. The colors she picked are so perfect for this piece. Lovely.
Lastly, Maryann from Interior Salvage took a dated $10 wing chair and gave it the look of a deconstructed antique with ticking and burlap. The wooden frame looks so pretty exposed. I just might have to try this!
Here are the rules for our furniture get-together…
1.) Your post has to be about furniture. Please, please, please…just furniture. If you find your link has been deleted, it’s not because I’m mean, it’s because your post was not about furniture. You can share makeovers, awesome finds, favorite pieces, furniture arrangements, or even pieces on your wish list! Built-in furniture like kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanities qualify as furniture.
2.) Post a permalink (the link to the post), not the link to your blog.
3.) This party will close Friday at midnight PST and I will choose my favorite(s) and feature their piece(s) on next week’s FFF.
I love your featured pieces! I used some regular saw horses, too for my door/table…not old like the beautiful ones in the pix! My kids helped me paint them…who cares if it is a bit sloppy…teaching them to be little DIYers! Rob isn't a fan of picnic tables, so this is a great way to have an outdoor table..easy to dismantle! I just about cried for you when I saw ALL that sheet music, too! So nice to feel the love! So glad you got what you are looking for! Thanks! Christie at Three Pixie Lane
What great examples of hard work that was so worth the effort. I can only imagine the labor that went into the library card table, wow!
I love Donna's desk- so original and beautiful!
The card catalog buffet is awesome!
Thank you for hosting the party. The card catalog buffet is amazing!
All of these are amazing. Yet on another subject. What are you doing with your bathroom? The door is still closed to mine. 🙂
Thanks for the feature, MMS! I'm LOVING the other two you've featured… wow. Truly original.
I most certainly remember those TVs and the snowy reception. Our tv had those martian ear antennas that never stayed where they needed to. Ahhh.. the good 'ol days. 🙂

Hi Marian 🙂 I'm not sure my post fits your meme…although we redid every piece of furniture in there, it's a whole room re-do. If it doesn't fit, feel free to delete it. No worries 🙂
That card catalog piece… are you kidding me?! One of the greatest things I've seen yet. I love it! Thanks for hosting, this is one of my favorite link parties!
