Before I get into the details of the art sale preview, I wanted to let you know that 25% of the gross sales will go to Samaritan’s Purse, specifically for the emergency field hospital they are setting up in Lviv to help those injured in the war in Ukraine.  It is a good cause, but also a personal one since one of our good friends is serving in that hospital.

A few other notes on the sale…

The original art sale will go live on March 18, 2022, at 10:00 am CST.  You will be able to find all of the paintings HERE.  They will not show up until the sale goes live.

The paintings are first come first serve.  There is only one of each and they sell quickly.  That is why I post this preview, so you can think about what you want and head straight for it when the sale goes live.  My site capacity will be increased during the sale to reduce any likelihood of server issues.  You can also set up an account and sign in HERE before the sale for faster secure checkout.  The paintings are not reserved in your cart.  They are only yours once you pay, so I suggest checking out quickly and circling back for other paintings.  I will reimburse any duplicate shipping charges if you’re an international buyer.

Shipping is free to the US and is added for purchases to Europe, Canada, the UK, and Australia.

Here are the paintings that will be available in the sale.  I think this is the largest original art sale I’ve ever had!

Blue Nose II | original oil on 8 x 10 on oil primed linen board | $200

I painted this one a couple of years ago and just haven’t been able to let it go.  Since I am giving a portion of the sales to a good cause, I thought this would be a perfect time to send it off to a good home.  It is a painting of Canada’s Blue Nose II based on a photo taken by John Batten (with permission.)

Edward Hopper study | original oil on 9 x 12 board | $280

This painting is based on an Edward Hopper watercolor.  I omitted the lighthouse and rendered this study in oil just to play with translating a watercolor into a different medium.

Percy Gray landscape study | original oil on 8 x 10 gesso cradleboard | $200

I love this Percy Gray study and was tempted to keep it, but I’ll paint another one, I’m sure!  This one has a glaze over it to make it look a little aged.

8 x 10 French vintage study | original oil on 8 x 10 cradleboard | $200

I also glazed this painting to make it look like it might be old.  This painting is based on a vintage French landscape sold by The French Art Shop.

GW Platt still life pear study | oil on 8 x 10 cradleboard | $200

I was preparing for a still life class and found this painting in one of my books.  The composition looked very similar to something I would set up, so I tried a study of it to explore his subtle color shifts and dark background.

Isle of Palms Marina | original oil on 9 x 12 board | $280

This landscape is based on a photo I took last summer during our vacation in the Isle of Palms.

Impressionist Landscape | original oil on 8 x 10 board | $200

This painting is a study of a smaller study I did on paper.  I decided to try increasing the size and playing around on a different substrate.

windmill on the water | original oil on 9 x 12 board | $280

I’ve wanted to paint a windmill for years, so I finally painted this based on a free stock image.  I can’t wait to take some of my own pictures of windmills to paint one day.  This painting was also glazed to make the whites look aged.

baby boots | original oil on 8 x 10 board | $200

This is a still-life painting of a pair of antique baby boots I bought at an antique market this summer…

two red pears | original oil on 9 x 12 board | $280

This still life painting is the “dark and moody” project in my upcoming still life painting class.  I’ll be sharing more details on that soon, but I love how this one turned out!

blackberries on a checked cloth | original oil on 9 x 12 board | $280

This is the “light and airy” painting for the still life class.  I had a blast painting the checkered cloth and that will definitely be making an appearance again.

garlic and transferware bowl | original oil on 9 x 12 board | $280

I set up and painted a few still life paintings to prepare for teaching the class and this was one of them.  I love the soft colors…

carrots and transferware bowl | original oil on 9 x 12 board | $280

I bought these carrots with the tops just for this painting!  It was another still life to practice for the class…

persimmons | original oil on 8 x 10 board | $150

I painted this one back in November as a warm-up.  I hadn’t painted for months, so I felt a little rusty and kept this one a bit more loose and sketchy.

pears and persimmons | original oil on 8 x 10 board | $150

I painted this one the day after the persimmons, also as a warm-up.

broccoli bunch | original oil on 8 x 10 oil primed linen panel | $200

More practice for the class!  I was inspired by a bunch of broccoli sitting on my counter, blue rubberband and all, and decided to paint it.

artichoke | original oil on 8 x 10 oil primed linen panel | $200

And an artichoke quickly followed!

Cornish Pitcher | original oil on 8 x 10 cradleboard | $200

This painting is based on a photo of a pitcher I took a few years ago.  The background of the reference photo was white, but I decided to make it dark so the pitcher would pop.

silver baby cup | original oil on 6 x 8 canvas board | $120

This is another painting I teach in the still life course.  It is a tonal painting of my silver baby cup.

Tube of Blue Paint | original oil on 5 x 7 linen panel | $100

And then there is my art supply series.  I love antique art supplies so much and I decided it was time I paint them.  This is an antique metal tube of Rowney paint…

I love your art. You are so gifted. Thank you for sharing your process of growth; it is so helpful to others to see how you grow your talent and evolve your style, and especially how you persevere through those times when you feel “stuck”. Good luck with the art sale!

By the way, you have the time listed as CST. Did you mean CDT?

Your paintings are always so beautiful. Such a treat to see them.
I would appreciate if you could post the information on where to send donations to Samaritan’s Purse. I have been looking for just such a charity that will help the people in Ukraine that are in need. Your assistance is appreciated. I am sending energy through the universe to your friend that is volunteering in Ukraine and pray they return to the states safely.

God bless your friend who’s working with Samaritan’s Purse ❤️ Thank you for sharing that info. I think so many people feel so helpless as they see what’s going on, and it helps so much to know who they can trust. We love giving to their work ?

Will any of these beautiful paintings be available as prints on Society6? I could especially see a set of blank note cards featuring your work. I would surely buy them! Anyway, thank you for supporting such an important cause.
