Today was moving day. We took our 17′ truck down to Lucketts and unloaded everything into my pavilion and tents. It was fun seeing all of my pieces coming out of the truck. I realized I forgot to show you one of my favorites pieces…this amazing china cabinet (made in Sweden) with a bowed front.
It is super heavy, so it went right to my pavilion and that thing isn’t going to move until it’s sold. I also switched some furniture around, so I have some new pieces and a fresh look for the Lucketts regulars. I don’t have a ton of little stuff in pavilion, but I’ll probably add more on Saturday morning, if I have the time.
One of the teenagers in our youth group took the day off school to help my husband unload furniture. It was an amazing help and really saved my back and energy. Once my tents were packed, we wrapped every inch in plastic and clamps and tarps and bungees, so it’s ready for a hurricane! Other vendors were laughing at me, but I worked hard on that stuff and I’m not taking any chances.
The grounds of the Lucketts Store are gorgeous. These girls really do things right. They are going above and beyond to make the event memorable, the atmosphere beautiful and fun and the shopping the best you’ll find around.
My mom and I did some shopping on the way home and I found some more great things to take to the fair and a couple of things for myself. I’ll share some pictures tomorrow.
I finished all of the big projects today and have a lot of little things to finish tomorrow…making lavender bunches, glitter letters, a couple more sheet music wreaths, cupcakes and a few other things. I am getting a break, though. I’m taking my mom out for her mother’s day lunch to a place that serves the most divine cream of crab soup. It melts in your mouth, if that’s possible with soup. I’ve also been ordered to go to bed early tomorrow night and I don’t think I’ll out up a fight on that one.
Thanks so much for all of the encouraging comments. I feel like I have all of my friends cheering me on in my busiest time. The blog world is awesome and I can’t wait to give some of you hugs this weekend.

Can't wait to see the final product and I'll take every little thing that doesn't sell..minus the big hutch but, of course, that doesn't really matter as I am SURE all of your goods are gonna go! Everything is amazing! Your hard work will surely pay off! Will be praying for you to have an amazing weekend!
I'd LOVE to be there, that china cabinet is heavenly! Have a great weekend! xoxo Debra
Marian, I hope that your big show goes well! I wish that I could go to the Lucketts Faire and I wish that I could meet you in person. I am one of your biggest followers, and I admire you very much. This show for you reminds me of one of our recent shows, Remnants of the Past. It was a huge sucess and I am sure that yours will be also. All the best! Terry
You're one talented woman! I'm dying to try this chalk paint, but I cant get it in Canada. I'm tempted to have some sent to my aunt in NJ and pick it up from her next month on a family get together. Can you imagine when I answer the customs officer…"I only bought paint officer. Lots and lots of paint!".
Stop apologizing for not posting staged pictures. I am sure that you would have if there were twice as many hours in a day…… but the reality is your stuff would look good staged in a pig stye covered in slop!
Have a great time at Lucketts, you deserve it!!
Can't make it (it's a goal for next year) BUT am driving to PA in June so I think I have the hubby convinced to stop in on the way back. Just gotta see some of your stuff in person. ~Kristina
Hope you sell everything and have a wonderful time!! If I lived nearby I'd be there!!
Have a wonderful weekend and may it be a great time while there, too.
The china cabinet is lovely just like everything you do.
You've taught me so much while I've lurked here.
Thanks.
I"d love that china cabinet in my house! Sadly that isn't going to happen so I hope it finds a nice home.
Good luck with the weekend and congrats to you for doing what you want to do in life, and doing it so well.
Oh I would so love to visit your shop and booths. All of your pieces look so special!

Last year was our first year to attend, and your tent was my fave! Everything was gorgeous and I especially love the large ironstone platter I got. We were planning on coming tomorrow, but my husband has to work, so we'll be there Sunday. I just hope all your beauties aren't gone!
Ok, don't laught but the title of your post almost gave me heart failure before I read all the way thru – I literally thought you were expecting a hurricane there and I was heart-sick. I know I am silly LOL I so wish I could be there this weekend – it looks like vintage/antique/crafty heaven! I am so jealous of everyone who gets to be there in person meeting your crafty self and seeing all your gorgeous goodies! Good luck this weekend. I am sure it will be just as fabulous as I am imagining it to be!

Glad you got all your stuff there, and take their advice and get a good night's sleep, you deserve it.
How I'd love to be there this weekend! Looking forward to lots more photos from your event! Any chance you'd open up a store in Phoenix?!!
Oh! Wish I could be there. I would completely redecorate my home with your gorgeous things! Yes, sure, I could afford it! NOT! Still your beautiful stuff makes me dream.
I love that china cabinet – it's the exact same one that's sitting in my dining room! It belonged to my grandmother (who probably wouldn't appreciate having it "mustardized", but I sure wish I could!!) Yours is beautiful and I wish you the very best of luck this weekend – you'll be out of stuff in no time! 🙂
Thank you for including us along the journey. I agree, there is so much encouragement and love in the blog world. I have felt so lifted and inspired by so many that I have met, least of all you! Big Hug through the internet to you. Congrats on your big weekend, you will be do amazingly well. -K

Good luck!! I wish I wasn't so far away, I would LOVE to come and take some of those pieces off your hands… maybe in a few years I'll make it to the market. Wouldn't that be fun, trying to take a china cabinet like that through customs. 🙂
Best of luck this weekend, Marion! You seem to have a great team of helpers, so I'm sure you'll do great! I can't wait to hear of your success, and see your beautiful photographs of your displays.
Way to go, Marion! You've done your homework; you've used your time well, and I just know that your weekend will be memorable. Have a wonderful time….do you put out a guest book for people who stop by your tent, so you can get their email addresses and build a data base of customers? Just sayin… Do you have your business cards for them to take with them? Of course you do, but don't forget to put them in your purse. Have a great weekend! Cherry Kay
You do awesome work and I know you will have a successful weekend..
