Favorite Furniture of 2011 – Link Party

Well, I’m a week and a day late in doing this post, but I’m a little out of sorts with Christmas and family visits and projects and all of that, but I’m really excited about this post, so I figured it was better late than never.  This is a party where you can link up all of your favorite furniture makeovers and finds of 2011.  It’s OK if you’ve shared them at FFF before, but only share your very best post(s).  OK?  I can’t wait to see them… This link party is for furniture ONLY and will be open through Friday, January 6 at midnight PST.  Enjoy!

Oh, girls!  I wish I could give big hugs to all of you for the sweet comments you left in reply to my big announcement.  I haven’t read through all of them yet, but I assure you I will.  They are such an encouragement to me as I stand on the edge of this new, scary journey.  I’ll expand on it more in another post, but I want you to know that your comments (on some of my posts in particular) have a lot to do with why I’m getting published.  So, thank you.  Just so you know what to expect, I will still post on my blog daily and am trying to rework things for next year so I can be more purposeful about posting tutorials, how-to series and encouragement.  I hope my blog will get better and better. And, while I’m scaling back my space at Lucketts for a

Hope you’re all having a wonderful week!  I must admit that Thanksgiving has totally snuck up on me this year.  I’m working on freelance projects for next February and October right now, so I’m really messed up.  I’m trying to get through those, so I can get to the good stuff…decorating for Christmas.  I am determined to have full-0ut Christmas decorations this year.  Lots of fresh greenery and little trees and I’ve been hoarding anything mercury glass.  I apologize if you shop the Hobby Lobby in Hanover or Chambersburg, PA.  I cleaned out almost all of the their mercury glass ornaments. I also got a new toy yesterday…well, it’s an expensive toy and it is for work, but anyway…I got an SB-900 Nikon flash, which is known as being the “flagship” flash for Nikon.  I was about to cry when I couldn’t even figure out how to make it work

Hello all of my furniture-loving friends!  My mom arrived today safely and we hit the ground running.  We stopped at Lucketts to fluff my room, which was desperately needed I assure you!  I also shopped my own space a bit and bought some over sized pine cones from my fellow Lucketts’ vendor, Ann.  Now I’m cozied on the couch, picking my favorites and catching up on e-mail. Here are the pieces that caught my eye from last week… As a mom of boys, I really appreciate this handsome bedroom set painted by Jessica from Paint in My Hair.  The colors and styling are wonderful and nature even chipped in with those beautiful orange leaves. I love this dresser by the Modern Cottage Company.  It’s so simple and then those knobs put it over the top and make it super special.   I also love the bean wreath.  Fun! Katie from

Welome to FFF on the new blog.  I’m assuming it’s all going to happen without a hitch…fingers crossed. Here are some favorites from last week… I absolutely adore this bench painted by Kim from Savvy Southern Style.  The lines, the caning, oh…those legs.  Just stunning. Whitney and Dustin from The Rooster & the Hen show their resourcefulness with a whitewashed pallet headboard.  It looks so fabulous, it’ll have you looking at any blank wall in your house… Gina from Shabby Creek Cottage took the plunge into the upholstery world and turned a $2.50 chair into this cutie.  Awesome job, Gina.   Here are the rules for our furniture get-together… 1.) Your post has to be about furniture. Please, please, please…just furniture. If you find your link has been deleted, it’s not because I’m mean, it’s because your post was not about furniture. You can share makeovers, awesome finds, favorite

Furniture Feature Friday – Updates & a Link Party

Well, that stinks. I went to pick my favorites from last week’s FFF and the thumbnails aren’t working. It’s just a bunch of red x’s. There was a time, before the day of linky thumbnails, when I would click through each link and leave comments and choose my favorites that way. Unfortunately, I just don’t have the time to do that anymore. So, no thumbnails = no favorites. Major bummer. Since I can’t share my favorites, I thought I would share some odds and ends. First of all, I have been working on a new WordPress site with my amazing designer, Marina from Penny Lane Designs. We’re going to make the switch any day now. We’re just getting a few more ducks in a row. You can check it out here. If you currently subscribe to my blog, the transition should be seamless. You do not need to resubscribe and

Thanks so much for all of the great comments this week.  That grass sofa really sparked some fun remarks, I was laughing out loud at some of the responses to my day, and I really appreciated the encouragement I received from my post about my growing business.  I’m even going to start working with a new “picker” as a result of that post!  You just never know… I did want to take a minute to address all of “my moms” out there.  I know a few of you are concerned about the pace of my day yesterday, but I don’t work that much every day.  I’m getting ready for a big event, have two articles due and am doing some consulting work, so it’s just one of those times.  Most days are balanced a little bit better. Now, to my favorites from last week…  Emily from Emily’s Upcycled Furniture painted this

Oh my word, girls!  I am normally really inspired by all of the links to FFF, but last week was bananas.  I had so many pages of favorites open it was insane.  I had a very hard time narrowing it down to only three, so I just had to pick three and go with it.  Here are the ones I decided to share this week…  (For some of my other favorites, check out my FaceBook page.) This fall vignette from Momma Hen’s Coop is so creative and beautiful in its simplicity.  I love the use of the French chair frame and the “fire place” made out of old wood.  It’s just stunning.  Janet from Shabbyfufu shared her gorgeous dining room with a homemade farmhouse table and Craig’s List French caned chairs.  Who says great style has to be expensive?  Work it, girl.  Work it.  Pamela from From My Front Porch
