Furniture Feature Friday – Favorites & a Link Party

As I looked through the projects from last week, three jumped out at me almost immediately.  Usually I have to go back and forth between ones I love to narrow it down to three, but last week…there were three that I instantly loved.  Here they are… Christie from Three Pixie Lane lovingly painted this secretary and the end result is so worth the effort.  Not only do I love the way she painted it, but the styling is perfection.  That Nordic bunting is so pretty.  Maple and Magnolia found this surveyor’s cabinet on Craig’s List and tackled the chore of refinishing it.  The result?  Killer.  This girl slayed this cabinet in the best possible way and the styling is spot on.  Love, love this.  I want one, now. Little Miss Penny Wenny used one of my dressers as her inspiration for this piece, but I find her piece inspires me.  I

It’s always tough choosing my favorites for FFF and narrowing it down to just three, so I’m going to start featuring some runner-ups (runners-up?) on my FaceBook page.  That way I don’t have to choose just three.  So, “like” my page if you’re interested in seeing what catches my eye.  Here are the three I really loved from last week… Amy from Whisper Wood Cottage deconstructed this French chaise and it looks amazing.  It’s a gutsy move to leave a piece like this and I think it’s heavenly.  Jaime of Craft Happy Scrappy gave this card catalog some love and now it looks fabulous!  I love the size and scale of this piece as well as the warm wood.    Jillian from The Virginia House made her own hand painted Restoration Hardware inspired “Grain Sack” chair.  In her post, she points out the flaws of her 3am project, but I think

Thanks so much to everyone who has asked about our safety.  We are in the middle of all of the flooded areas and our schools were closed today, but we’re not seeing anything that bad in our immediate area.  It was much worse in the spring…and we had about 8″ of standing water in our basement that time.  Please keep the families in the Susquehanna Valley in your prayers.  They are the ones who have been hit hard.  Closed schools definitely threw a kink in my day.  We ended up hiring a babysitter, so we could head out to deliver some new pieces to my space at Lucketts.  I actually ran into a reader there, which is always fun.  She hiked all the way up to the third floor just to see my space.  So sweet!  One last thing, if you notice some strange things happening with my website or

As I type, my brain is fried.  Is it possible to write a blog post with only 1/4 of your brain functioning?  Well, we’ll see how coherent this one is.  My mushy mind managed to spot some great, family oriented spaces and pieces of furniture from last week.  Here they are… My dear friend Kelli from Restore Interiors set up this super sweet kid’s table.  Our brains (when mine was fully functional) were on the same wavelength this week and I did a similar setup for an HGTV.com photo shoot.  My favorite part of hers?  The big bows on the back of the chairs.  So cute! Dixie Delights shares her amazing basement transformation in this post.  It is bright, fun, cheery, sophisticated, chic AND family friendly all at the same time.  I just love it!  Well done! And lastly, Amy from Blissful Blooms found these vintage wooden kid’s chairs and

Furniture Feature Friday – excuses, a favorite & a link party

I am full of excuses tonight.  I started off the day with a snuggle with my youngest…very early.  Too early.  Then, I worked on a photo shoot, made breakfast, packed for the day (you have to do that with little ones) and headed off to the gym for some weight lifting.  Straight from the gym, I dropped off my boys for a day of swimming and playing with their babysitter and I went off to Lucketts.  I fluffed my space, shopped and snapped some pictures of other rooms to share with you.  I then met with Yasmin and Nadia of Wuslu.com for a yummy Italian dinner in Frederick, MD.  I can’t wait to share some of the things we’re cooking up together.  They are very inspiring and all around awesome ladies.  So, with that full day, I didn’t get home until later in the evening, unloaded my car, spent some

Well, here we are again.  Another Thursday night going into Friday.  Another party to show off the most awesome furniture in the blog world.  You are all so resourceful, creative and inspiring.  Can’t wait to see all of the links.  Here are some of my favorites from last week… Hue-ol-ogy shared this really simple table brought to life with a stunning color combination.  ASCP Antibes Green with Paris Grey.  Very cool (and I love the name of that blog.)     I absolutely love this pair of chairs (only one is shown obviously.)  I’m just a sucker for caned furniture and these are beauties!  Mrs. Hipp from The Hipp Life shares her failures and successes while recovering the seat cushion.  If you ever get sick of these chairs, call me.      Deborah from The Fisherman’s Cottage shares her airy and bright freestanding kitchen.  It is put together so well…I love,

I learned something today.  Do not work out really, really hard (especially during the squat track in a Body Pump class) when you’re later delivering stuff to your room in an antique store that is on the third floor.  I just about collapsed carrying a box of stuff up to my space. My legs and arms were shaking. Lesson learned.  Anyway, it’s nice to be snuggled on the couch with my laptop warming my sore quads.  Here are my favorite links from last week… The second I saw this cupboard by Lisa from Recaptured Charm, it was love.  True love.  Like, Buttercup and Wesley love.  Lisa took a “eh” mirrored armoire and turned it into a “pie safe” that looks like it was plucked right out of a farm house.  Lisa and I go way back and this is by far my favorite thing she has ever done.  I want to steal it

I usually feature individual pieces of furniture each week, but out of all of the amazing entries from last week’s party, it was two rooms that blew me away.  Here they are… Erin from erin’s art and gardens transformed her childhood dining set (and entire dining room) with paint and original art.  I love the soft shades of white and gray, the natural wood, the  personal touches and the artwork.  That horse painting…be still my heart.  Erin, if you find that painting missing one day…I’ll just confess it right now.  It was me.  (For those who are literal…I’m only kidding.) The second room that caught my fancy was this gorgeous bedroom by Stacy from Conspicuous Design.  Everything about this room is chic, classy and downright lovely.  I vow to not steal anything.  If that mirrored bench goes missing, it was definitely not me.   Thanks for participating and enjoy the party!!   Here are
