Furniture Feature Friday – Favorite & a Link Party

Good evening all of my furniture-loving friends.  I finally had my act together today and was able to look through the entries from last week.  Instead of picking three favorites, as I usually do, I just picked one.  That wasn’t out of laziness or for lack of time, but because this space blew me away.  All of the custom touches and personalized details…I loved it and felt like it deserved a full feature. Check out this kitchen by Angie from Knick of Time.   You can see the before HERE, but I can tell you it’s amazing how much this kitchen has been transformed. I love all of the thoughtful displays and the way Angie and her husband worked with the imperfections and quirks of the space and the salvaged materials they were working with and made everything functional and very vintage.  It looks like this kitchen has been at work

I didn’t have the time to pick favorites today because…   …I was moving all of my Milk Paint into my space at Lucketts.  I was so busy trying to get it all done that I didn’t get to have a teary moment until I looked at this picture.  God has really blessed this endeavor.  Wow. …and I’m late because… I was working on the new MMS Milk Paint website!  I still have a lot of work to do to get all of the information posted and all of the retailers listed, but it’s a great start! …and I didn’t turn in my book report because my dog ate it. Here are the rules for our furniture get-together… 1.) Your post has to be about furniture. Please, please, please…just furniture. Furniture Feature Friday – Link Party

Unfortunately, I didn’t have a chance to pick out favorites today.  I was racing around trying on clothes, buying accessories for the photo shoot tomorrow, returning my tile (more on that later), getting a lesson on laying tile, more shopping for clothes in case the shirt I bought won’t work (and I found something better) AND then spending three hours in the hair chair.  Yes, it took that long to color, highlight and cut my hair, which hadn’t been worked on professionally since May.  I had to spend some time with my kiddos and hubby and then get the rooms that will be visible in the photo shoot cleaned up.  I’m now sitting down to write a freelance article that’s due tomorrow.  I’m not saying all of this to say, “Oh I’m super important and super busy and the center of the universe.”  Not at all.  Some days I

I’m so glad to report that I’m feeling much better. I still have staples that need to be removed early next week (ugh), but I’m able to do some cleaning and straightening up and I think I’ll be able to start painting, shopping, etc, next week.  I definitely don’t have the endurance I’m used to and I have to take breaks, but I can tell that things are going to get back to normal soon. Another piece of good news is that my parents closed on their home in Florida today and a new house is being built for them just 10 minutes away from my home.  I am so excited about having them so close, so my boys can know their grandparents really well and my parents can help me with the business they encouraged me to start.    My mom and I won’t have to stuff three weeks of

Well, I’ve wrapped up the projects for my book and now it’s down to the styling and beauty shots.  I was planning to go shopping for last minute props tomorrow, but I think I might have to do that on Saturday.  It’s just been nuts the past few days.  I could hardly get out of bed this morning and had to nurse a sore back with a heating pad until it losened up.  (Gosh, I’m only 33…yikes.) To add to the craziness, we have one kid with an upper respitory infection and another one with a stomache bug.  On the up-side, I’m really excited how everything’s coming together for the book.  I made some changes in my family room, my work office and living room and I just love them.  I can’t wait until I can just sit back and enjoy it all for a couple of days. I took some

Furniture Feature Friday – Favorites & a Link Party

As always, I was floored at the creativity, resourcefulness and talent displayed in the links last week.  You girls are gooood.  Here are some favorites… I think this painted console (and the entire room) by Erin from Welcome Home is so chic!  It started out as a dated 1980’s buffet, but it now looks modern and very high end.  I love paint.  I’m just sayin’. These corbels featured on Dixie Delights look so perfect supporting the counter hanging over her kitchen bar.  It’s such a clever way to add some character and architecture interest. Liz Marie did some major surgery on a dresser and turned it into a cubby shelf and work surface.  I absolutely love out-of-the-box DIY thinking like this! Enjoy the party! Here are the rules for our furniture get-together… 1.) Your post has to be about furniture. Please, please, please…just furniture. If you find your link has been

It’s good to be back into my usual routine with FFF and I enjoyed looking through your links from last week.  I can’t believe so much furniture making-over is going on in January!  I love it!  Here are a couple of my favorites from last week… I think this Craig’s List dresser makeover by Sue of Uniquely Chic is wonderful.  Of course, you know I’m a fan of refinished wood tops, but I also love the stripped detail and beachy feel of this piece. This cubby hole shelf showcased at The Thrifted Market was a fabulous buy at only $15!  They were styled to resemble a similar shelf from the Pottery Barn catalog and I think it looks great!  I bet this would be pretty simple to build as well. It’s the first FFF of the new year and I almost missed it!  It’s been a crazy week for me, so I didn’t have a chance to get some favorites lined up for you.  I did enjoy looking through some of the best furniture from last year, though.  We’ve accomplished a lot, haven’t we?  If nothing else, we have some great furniture, right?  So, link up and I’ll pick some favorites for next week! Here are the rules for our furniture get-together… 1.) Your post has to be about furniture. Please, please, please…just furniture.
