Furniture Feature Friday

FURNITURE FEATURE FRIDAY |

Hey, girls!  (Mostly girls.  I know there are a few guys out there…)  I spent the day driving from Gettysburg, PA to Chester, VA, shopping all along the way with my mom.  We had a great time and found some cool stuff.  I’ll have to share some of the pricing craziness I saw, like a small ironstone platter that was $95.00!!!  What the what?!  I’m down here to teach a decorating idea/MMSMP workshop for the Richmond Garden club, which is pretty funny since I’m a pathetic gardener.  As long as nothing needs to be pruned or watered while I’m there, we’ll be set. So, spending a day in the car (and shopping) didn’t give me a chance to pick favorites tonight, but we can still enjoy the party! Here are the rules for our furniture get-together… 1.) Your post has to be about furniture. Please, please, please…just furniture. If you

FURNITURE FEATURE FRIDAY

I’ve been in the workshop doing some of my own furniture makeovers the past few days and I can’t wait to share them with you.  Until then, here are some of my favorites from the link party two weeks ago… I love just about everything Kristine from the Painted Hive does and this DIY projects is no exception.  She reinvented some ho-hum file drawer cabinet into a “specimen cabinet.”  Click over to see how she did it! This is another average piece of furniture made stunning by a true artist.  Julia of 551 east went totally outside the box on this one and I think it’s a show-stopping piece. Lastly, I think Catherine of Cathgrace did a great job turning these average nightstands that were, quite honestly, a little dated, into chic pieces.  I love the paint color and the hardware (and there is a pretty awesome photo-bomb in one

Oh, girls… I really got lost in last week’s links.  At one point I had a ridiculous number of tabs opened that I wanted to select as favorites.  You wow me every week, but some weeks are standouts.  We must all be hitting the workshops as spring is making an appearance…although a somewhat shy appearance in my neck of the woods.  She peeked her head out for a few days and then winter popped back in for an encore with a snow flurry.  Well, that’s just how it goes… Here are my favorites from last week… I couldn’t NOT feature this kitchen makeover with MMSMP.  The Sideways House accomplished this kitchen makeover for around $200, which is pretty darn impressive.  I love the fun hardware, chalkboard wall and bright white trim. I think Melanie from Lost & Found did a wonderful job on this hand painted dresser.  I think my

Furniture Feature Friday – Link Party

Furniture Feature Friday sort of caught up on me today, but I didn’t want to skip it altogether!  So, here’s the party without the favorites.  I’m looking forward to getting a lot of inspiration from you… Here are the rules for our furniture get-together… 1.) Your post has to be about furniture. Please, please, please…just furniture. If you find your link has been deleted, it’s not because I’m mean, it’s because your post was not about furniture. You can share makeovers, awesome finds, favorite pieces, furniture arrangements, or even pieces on your wish list! Built-in furniture like kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanities qualify as furniture. 2.) Post a permalink (the link to the post), not the link to your blog. 3.) This party will close Friday at midnight PST and I will choose my favorite(s) and feature their piece(s) on next week’s FFF. Enjoy the party!

FURNITURE FEATURE FRIDAY

Good evening, all!  I have been working on a lot of projects lately, so I needed to spend today catching up on my e-mail and running errands.  It’s not glamorous, but it needed to be done.  Jeff and I went around the house today and put together a to-finish list.  We have lots of little things that have been sitting around undone, so we’re going to start tackling those tomorrow.  My mom is working on stringing tags, so we can keep pricing and adding things to the Lucketts pile.  And I got my freelance projects organized, so I don’t feel so overwhelmed.  Lots going on. Anyway, none of this has anything to do with FFF.  Just me chatting a little.  So, let’s get to it… I love this sweet rocker by Hello Honeypot.  This is such a clever treatment to make a more traditional piece of furniture work in a

Good evening friends!  Here we are on time and ready to go this week for FFF.  Hopefully all of the technical issues are a thing of the past.  One of my furniture-loving blog friends picked favorites for me tonight, which worked out well, since I’m still feeling under the weather.  And she picked some good ones.  Here’s Jessica from Dear Emmeline… Hello all!  Jessica here again, picking my favorites from last week’s link up! First up is this lovely piano to desk makeover from Angie at Knick of Time Interiors.  I absolutely love being able to see the beautiful piano parts peeking out!  What a great way to utilize and appreciate an old piano that isn’t worth fixing to play. How pretty is this blue on blue dresser painted by Reeves of The Weathered Door.  The bright blue floral knobs look so striking against the pale blue paint.  I always appreciate

Hey, everyone!  I am so sorry for all of the technical trouble we’ve had with this link party.  We’ve been trying different link party tools and, it’s quite an involved story, but last week the code kept disappearing.  My “people” are working on it, so we can have this running smoothly each week.  For this week, you will have to click on the inLinkz logo to get to the party.  Just hang in there as we figure everything out! Anyway, here are some favorites from last week… This table top by The Coastal Colonial is amazing.  My goodness.  It took over 300 wooden paint stir sticks to make it, but it looks fantastic. I absolutely love this dresser by Rachel of Shades of Blue Interiors.   A rich color was exactly what this stately bow front highboy needed.  I also love the brass hardware.  Oh, and the chair.  This is

Tonight is my 15 year anniversary, so I’m taking the night off!  I handed the “picking of the favorites” off to Abbe, our primary educator for Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint.  She’s all-around awesome and a lover of furniture as well, so I knew the picks were in good hands.  Here she is… Hi Friends! Abbe’ here, I have the honor of picking out our features from last weeks FFF! Being a do-it-yourselfer, and painter, this was like being a kid in a candy store! I had hard time deciding! First off, here’s a great post on a re-upholstery job from a self proclaimed novice. I have to be honest- I have not done anything more than a seat recover because it seems so intimidating, but Lost and Found did a fabulous job of taking us step by step on her beautiful French chair makeover. I say- if you can do it, so can I! I love
