Good evening, all!  I don’t know about you, but I’m still trying to get used to our summer schedule.  I’ve had a busy spring, so it’s nice to finally get to slow down a bit and sleep in a bit later and relax our schedule.  Anyway, I enjoyed looking through your entries from last week and I think I found some great features to share with you.  Here they are… I am just smitten with this gloriously chippy washstand shared by Terry of The Curator’s Collection.  She bought the piece from her neighbor and spent an entire day cleaning it up!  I think it was worth it, though.  It’s a special piece. You have to check out how this $12 yard sale workbench started out.  Cheryl from Patina General did a lot more removing, in this case, than she did adding and the result is really beautiful.  It sold so fast that she

Hello, MMS readers, this is Kriste! Marian has been hard at work around the house for the shoot this week so I offered to check FFF off of her list. If I’m being honest, I really enjoy flipping through all of the posts and may have volunteered a bit for my own benefit as well! I absolutely LOVE this trunk by Evelyn and Rose. A pretty mix of Shutter Gray and Grain Sack, this is just the most beautiful neutral, soft blue you can get.  And the distressing is absolutely spot on.  It all looks so natural and organic! Next up is this little DIYer from Lovely Weeds. I have to admit, my love of succulents may have driven this pick a wee bit. Marian and I have been working on our indoor gardening skills lately, and I think this would be such an organic way to add some fresh

Good evening, all!  I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to make my picks tonight, but I squeak them in.  Kriste and I have had a full day of upholstery, sewing, painting and then she and her husband hung out with us for dinner.  We were all laughing and the boys were highly entertained and entertaining in turn.  It’s been a good, full day.  So, here are my picks from last week… This burled campaign dresser by Christina of Phoenix Restoration is stunning.  She totally did this piece justice by giving it a fresh look, but highlighting the original features that make this piece shine.  Well done.   Cami from Tidbits found this table in her grandfather’s junk yard.  I can understand someone not seeing the potential in it, but the faded paint, rusty hardware, X legs and even the warped top endeared it to me.   Lastly, Colleen from

Kriste and I spent our day traveling to Wisconsin!  Trips like these are always so fun.  Tiring, but fun.  So much of my work is done behind the computer, in my house or in the studio and it’s nice to get outside of that bubble. Anyway, I did have some time to pick favorites before heading out the door.  There were a lot of “wow” pieces, but these are a few stand-outs. The rustic stool by Jamie of anderson + grant is so clever and simple AND amazing.  It’s definitely an example of the sum being great than the parts.  This rusty old library cart got a fresh look with a chippy coat of white paint that seems to suit it perfectly.  I think Manda from Lost in the Found did a great job. Kim from Painted Poppy Studio appropriately named this dresser the “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea” dresser.  How cool is that
