As I shared last week, my plan for the Lucketts Fall Market was to shop Friday morning and then man my space in the afternoon. As soon as the gates opened and people wanted to purchase prints and paintings, I knew that plan was folly. I know, as a shopper,
As I’ve shared my pet portraits over the years, the question I’ve been asked most is, “When are you going to teach an online class on pet portraiture?” I’ve been thinking about it for a while, but I wanted to refine my process and get even more hours at the
Mom and I left early Friday morning to get to Lucketts in time to set up my paintings, books, and prints before the gates opened at 8:30. Jeff and I drove down the day before to drop everything off, but we left everything packed in plastic bins under a tarp.
When I first saw this 1970s brick ranch house, I felt like it was a gem, hidden behind overgrown landscaping, faded green siding, and brickwork wearing remnants of ivy roots. The inside hadn’t been updated since it was built, just the kind of project I was looking for. I could tell from the quality wallpaper and handmade curtains that this was a house that was loved. We bought the house in 2022 and have been slowly bringing it back to life, striving to honor the original owners who built this as their dream home.
From original paintings and art prints to Pup Club releases and curated goods, each piece is created or chosen to bring warmth, creativity, and character into your home.

how to transform your spaces
Every home should feel like a custom home and not have to break the bank. No matter how many neighborhood twins your suburban home may have, this home would be uniquely yours. That typical four-square colonial or mid-century rancher can be transformed into a character-rich home that is beautifully customized to meet your specific tastes and needs.
dozens of new projects, ideas, and DIY adventures
Marian will remind you that homes don’t have to be magazine material to be special, comfortable, and inviting. The goal you’re working toward is home. Not a perfect home. Not an “impress the neighbors” home. Just home—one whose walls and rooms tell the story of the family who lives there. Beautiful homes start with inspiration and a willingness to try. So uncover your God-given creativity. Be encouraged, be willing, and be inspired.”
