It’s that time again!  Once a month, I get to pick something I love and have it featured for sale as the Wuslu deal of the day.  Not a bad job, huh? Here’s the pick for this month…this super cute, antique-looking wagon.  Oh, I love this thing. Given that this is a reproduction, it has a very authentic look about it and I can think of 100 ways to use it.  I just stuck some miniature bushes in it, but would look amazing with season decor (pumpkins, greenery, pine cones, bulbs, etc.)  I think it would also be a great caddy for cookbooks on a counter or magazines on a coffee table.     The wagon will be for sale as Wuslu’s deal of the day through Monday, December 5,  at 10:00 am EST, so don’t miss out on this one. …and here’s a preview of the deal of the day tomorrow.

Bliss Farm Antiques Giveaway

Today was packed.  I drove out to Lancaster with Mini to meet a “picker” (Dana) and buy some things from her.  There was a farmer’s market and flea market where we met (she picked a great spot), so I purchased some Christmas greenery at great prices and some ironstone.  We then rushed over the Hobby Lobby, Lowe’s and Target to get some things I need to finish my HGTV.com Halloween and Thanksgiving projects for next year.  I picked up the boys from school, unloaded the van and then got to work putting things away.  I sort of churned all evening…you know?  When you do a lot, but don’t feel like you have much to show for it?  My house is still a mess and I have an enormous to-do list.  I’ve got to sit down with my calendar and get myself sorted out! Anyway, it worked out really well that one

{time to grow}

I remember when I first started a blog and I would read all about the exciting things that were happening to other bloggers. I never even knew that magazine features and freelance writing jobs and TV shows and book deals and things like that could happen to ordinary stay-at-home moms like myself who shared their passions on a blog.  Once I saw that, my dreams (which started out as just wanting to make a little money to contribute to the family budget) got much bigger. I went from excitement over all of the possibilities to feeling like amazing things were happening to everyone but me.  (It’s easy to feel like that in the blog world at times.  I’m sure I’m not alone.)  A fellow blogger would share some exciting news and, while I was genuinely happy for her, there was a twinge.  That twinge.  The “why not me” twinge.  I

Forced Vacation

Well, my internet has been down since last night and it won’t be repaired until Monday. 🙁 I had my mom type a post for me, but I now figured out how to login from my phone. (Thank goodness for iPhones!) I’m supposed to be running a giveaway for a Silhouette Cameo right now, but that will have to wait. I guess this is a forced blog vacation! Hopefully I’ll see you all on Monday!

{this post is not about a nest}

There are days when I’m really busy. I have my usual level of busy, which might be about a 7-8 on the busy scale, and then I have a day like yesterday and today where it reaches a 10.  We’ve been installing bead board and trim, shopping, cleaning out the basement, cleaning my office (yes, again), going to church, going to music practice, hanging a chandelier, making pleated ribbon trim for lamp shades, moving around furniture, making curtains AND I baked an apple pie today.  From scratch.  Yeah.  I told you it was a 10.  So, here I am at the end of busy day number two and I feel like I have nothing to write about.  I didn’t snap pictures along the way, because that would’ve pushed the busy scale to an 11, which we all know is not possible.  I have a lot to share, but nothing that’s blog-ready,

The Stylish Patina Barn (and giveaway)

I’ve mentioned my friend (picker and sponsors as well), Kelly of Stylish Patina, in the past.  She is a gal who has decided to follow her passion for treasure hunting and turn it into a business.  Kelly currently sells out of two locations, including The Foundry  just outside of Washington, DC.  She’s now gone a step further and is starting a barn sale.  Wow, right? The Stylish Patina Barn is having its grand opening Nov 18,19,20 from 10-5pm in Frederick, MD (address is below.)  Not only does it look like a great place to shop, but there will be food and things to keep the rest of the family entertained while you do your thing. The barn will featire a wonderful eclectic mix of styles and pieces that are ready to use as is and some bargains that need some work (for people like me.)  You will also be able to purchase
