Furniture Feature Friday – Favorites & a Link Party

August is a crazy month for me.  I kicked it off with Haven, now I’m in North Carolina for the Becoming Conference and then we’re off to Arizona and Colorado.  FFF will still be happening, but you’ll have to hang in there with me if I miss it or can’t pick favorites one week.  I was able to fit some browsing in tonight, though, so here are my favorites… This piece by Pam from Simple Details looks so glam with a fresh coat of glossy black.  She’s a better woman than I for letting this go to a client!  It looks beautiful just where it is. I just featured a piece by Oliver & Rust  in a non-FFF post a few weeks ago and I try to pick different people to feature, but this was just too good not to share!  Look at the styling on that shelving.  Meg is a

New Front Door & New Prodcuts

I was assigned the project of painting a door and I thought, “Hmmm…I have the perfect candidate – my front door.”  It was original to the house, which sounds nice except for the fact that you could see daylight through parts of it and it was caked with layer upon layer of paint.  So, I decided it would be much simpler to replace it than to strip and repaint the existing door. I went with a door style similar to what we had, but one that I felt looked a bit more custom and unique with the six small windows and two panels. (It was hard to photograph it without it looking streaky from the reflection.  It really doesn’t look like that in real life,) I’m going to share how I painted the door and installed the hardware in a future post, by the way.  This is just a snippet.

Furniture Feature Friday – Jessica’s Favorites & Link Party

Tonight I am hanging out with Shaunna (and a bunch of other cool girls) at Haven. so I’ve asked Jessica of Dear Emmeline to pick some favorites for me.  Here they are… Every week I am so amazed by the creativity and style of all the pieces linked up.  This week is no exception!  Furniture painting really is an art form as evidenced by the three features this week. Oh my!  This navy, white, and gold credenza by Kelly at A Swell Place To Dwell has my heart a fluttering!  So clean, crisp, and styling.  Perfectly regal and evoking maritime nostalgia.  Don’t you just feel like you’re looking at a captain on a long ago military ship?  Minus all the yucky aspects of military and sailing life of course! All things boy room have been catching my eye while I’m working on the plans for my son’s room redo.  Kristy from

Furniture Feature Friday – Link Party & Laura’s Picks

The house was a flurry of activity today with lights and a skylight tube being installed in the bathroom and lots of cleaning and getting ready for a big photo shoot tomorrow.  I can’t wait to share everything we’ve been up to, but tonight it’s about furniture, so let’s get to it.  I had Laura from the Ironstone Nest as a guest picker today. She’s one of my MMS Milk Paint retailers who I talked about HERE.  If you remember, I was very inspired by her shop makeover and the beautiful, encouraging sign about furniture painting.  If you were inspired by it, too, and would like to have one in your shop, workshop, bathroom (just seeing if you’re paying attention), or wherever…you can have one custom made HERE. Oh, and you can also buy the new MMS Milk Paint colors, include Artissimo, online from her HERE.  Check out our

Say Hello to Artissimo

It’s time to say hello to one of my new MMS Milk Paint colors – Artissimo… It’s a deep, rich, yummy navy blue inspired by the P Kaufmann fabric used in my bedroom…       I just love it and can’t wait until I have the time and a piece to paint in it!  (Actually, I did paint one, but the color was looking washed out in the photos.)  So, to be more accurate, I can’t wait to paint another piece!  Since I’m a bit strapped for time this summer, I turned to the amazingly talented Abbe Doll of All Dolled Up to introduce this color for me.  I love the way the warmth of the wood shows through Artissimo.   …and there’s a little Shutter Gray surprise when you open it up.  Don’t you love the little wood drawer?  Clever little design touch, I think.  Thanks so much,

Milk Paint Inspiration

I am up way too late tonight trying to get my inbox cleaned out and I came across some pictures of pieces done in MMS Milk Paint that people have sent to me ages ago.  I thought they were so lovely that it would be a shame to let them remain in inbox purgatory. These two were done by Meg of Oliver & Rust… (boxwood) And all of the pieces below were by Melanie of All Things New Designs… (Lucketts Green) (Mustard Seed Yellow) (Ironstone) (Linen) (Tricycle) Really gorgeous finishes, right?  These ladies are so talented.  Thanks Meg and Melanie for sharing your work with us. Don’t worry.  My blog isn’t going to be all-milk-pain-all-the-time.  I’ve just had a busy week with VBS and projects that I can’t share yet and phone calls about exciting things and cleaning and swimming at the pool with my boys and riding bikes and trying

Furniture Feature Friday – Link Party & Say Hello to…

Due to a string of circumstances, my guest picker wasn’t able to pick favorites tonight, but she has wonderful taste, so I can’t wait to see what she picks next time she’s available.  So, tonight, I thought I would share a preview of one of our new MMS Milk Paint Colors.  Say “hello” to Artissimo… I’ll introduce the color in a full post next week, but couldn’t resist sharing this amazing piece done by Abbe Doll of All Dolled Up.  Isn’t the color so rich and beautiful?  I hope you love it as much as I do. Here are the rules for our furniture get-together… 1.) Your post has to be about furniture. Please, please, please…just furniture. If you find your link has been deleted, it’s not because I’m mean, it’s because your post was not about furniture. You can share makeovers, awesome finds, favorite pieces, furniture arrangements, or even
