Furniture Feature Friday – Favorites & a Link Party

First of all, I realize that the first 32 thumbnails posted last week were not visible. There was a problem with Linky Tools, but it will hopefully not be a problem this week.  As usual, though, you all rocked.  I found a lot of great inspiration in all of your posts.  Here are three of my favorites… Andrea from Oakridge Revival posted this kitchen and I turned green with envy when I saw it.  Isn’t it amazing?  I’m sitting here…at my laptop…on my green laminate counters…with linoleum floors and hickory cabinets…drooling over this kitchen…turning green again.  I’d better look away before I start disliking Andrea!  Just kidding.  It’s lovely and I’m so happy for them.  It makes me excited to give mine a makeover…soon, hopefully. Kristine from The Painted Hive gave this $25 e-Bay coffee table a chic makeover that is perfect for her space.  I just love Kristine’s style.

Furniture Feature Friday – Favorites & A Link Party

I’m serious when I say that the furniture pieces linked up to this party keep getting better and better.  It’s tough to pick favorites. It’s sort of like picking the best M and M in the bag.  Is there really a bad one?  This week, I have kitchens on the brain (I can’t wait to makeover my kitchen), so I’m going to highlight a couple of kitchen entries.  Do you have an outdated TV/Media center and a little girl?  Well, here’s what you should do with that cabinet that won’t fit your flat screen to make your little princess feel like a million bucks… Terri from Fresh Cut Flours made this amazing play kitchen for her little girl.  I love the vintage style of it, the attention to detail and even the staging!  Isn’t your heart melting at that face?  You are a cool mom, Terri! The second kitchen transformation makes

Copy Me Challenge Honorable Mentions AND Furniture Feature Friday Link Party

Tonight’s Furniture Feature Friday is going to be a just a little different.  Instead of highlighting my favorite furniture projects from a couple of weeks ago, I am going to share the three “honorable mentions” from the Copy Me Challenge.    The top five will be announced on Sunday and the grand winner on Monday.  The link up at the bottom of the post will be our usual furniture party, though.  First of all, it was such a challenge to pick my “Copy Me” favorites.  There were so many curvy dressers, Frenchy chairs, beautiful vignettes, and creative takes on the sheet music wreath in the over 200 links.  I really enjoyed seeing my work through your eyes.  It was a true pleasure.  The first honorable mention goes to Yanet from Three Sun Kissed Boys.  This entry was just funny and I love the spirit of it.  Full disclosure: Yanet sent

Furniture Feature Friday – A Favorite and a Link Party

To be honest, tonight snuck up on me.  We had a late dinner, I’ve been working on HGTV.com projects (another day of Halloween decor in November in my household), and I’ve been fiddling with my book.  I did visit a bunch of the entries and decided to, for the sake of time, pick just one favorite tonight.  A friend found this buffet for Cindy from Cameras and Chaos and she went for it even though she was looking for a hutch, not a buffet.  She painted it a beautiful blue and updated the hardware with some oil rubbed bronze spray paint.  And the best part…? …the price.  …and it was 20% off.  Don’t you just hate it when other people find really good deals on things?  Have fun at the furniture party this week.  There are some very talented girls out there and this is a great place for inspiration.  Enjoy!

Furniture Feature Friday – Favorites and Link Party

I woke up this morning (snuggled under my duvet, lingering as long as I could), planning to work on more custom ornament orders and getting a lot of things checked off my to do list.  Plans changed.  My hot glue gun has been cold all day and not one piece of sheet music has been cut or rolled.  I have needed a new phone for months, now, maybe over a year and today we set out to buy one.  Well, that turned into the decision to switch carriers and a wild goose chase to track down the phones we wanted.  All of this ended with me getting a new iPhone and spending all of my evening playing with the new gadget.  I’m setting myself up to Tweet, post, e-mail and all of that good stuff on it, but I am pretty overwhelmed at the technology.  I’m computer savvy, but this

Furniture Feature Friday – A Favorite and Link Party

Hey girls.  Well, I’m pooped.  You saw how much I accomplished yesterday and today was busy as well.  I spent about five hours out hunting for new treasures to bring to Chartreuse and Wild Rose.  I came home with a van stuffed full of goodies.  Ironstone, a couple of cabinets, a drafting table, an industrial wooden rack on wheels, a huge laundry basket, a large glass cloche, a bird and branch candelabra, a metal stool, a balance scale, and more.  All of the upholstery and painting is starting to catch up to me and I’m tired.  Anyway, I need to push through Monday and then I can take a little break.  All of this to say that I browsed through the furniture entries last week, and although there were tons of really good ones, I just picked one favorite.  This dresser painted and refinished by Between Blue and Yellow caught my

Furniture Feature Friday – Favorties and A Link Party

This week, the theme for my favorites is the pairing of wood and paint.  I love a rich wood top and a creamy base on a piece of furniture.  It’s rich, practical, and really easy to achieve.  Kelli from ReStore, one of my new blog friends, transformed a neglected buffet into a real stunner.  Why, it looks almost exactly like my dresser, so of course I love it!  This girl does great work and takes beautiful photos…and she only has 17 followers.  Can you help her out?  Melissa from Greener Grass turned a cheap, Ikea craft table into an expensive looking piece.  I love how the dark stain brought out the beauty in this wood.  Great work! Stephanie from Bikinis and Briefcases upcycled a very dated dresser into a fabulous kitchen island.  You must check out her full post to see the incredible transformation. I can’t wait to see what you have to
