new dining set & what will make me cry

As some of you know, I was thinking about selling my dining room set.  Well, the deed is done and it’s gone to a wonderful home and I’m totally at peace with it.  I’m still working on my new dining set, but here’s a sneak peek… …and some other pictures just for fun.  It was nice to do some cleaning today to get my house in order and I couldn’t resist snapping some photos.  I’m still sorting through all of my Lucketts photos.  There are plenty of me making ridiculous facial expressions that need to be weeded out.  If you’ve met me, you know I can be animated and it definitely shows in pictures.  I also did make a video, so I’ll edit and post that, too. I’m all caught up on my e-mail, paperwork and most of my cleaning, so I’ll post some pictures of people I met in a

the best before & after

As you can imagine, I am totally tuckered out tonight.  Lucketts is over and I had a blast.  I’ll share more when my vision isn’t blurry and my mind isn’t fuzzy and my legs aren’t rubbery and I’m not sticky and filthy.  In my post tonight, I thought I would share my very best before and after pictures of all time – Here’s my booth before (Saturday morning): …and here is the after (Sunday afternoon)…and the Bucherie sign was sold.: When you girls want to shop, it is no joke!  This amazing booth transformation would not have been possible without all of the amazing readers who came out in droves to buy my finds and furniture.Thank you, thank you so much!! Before I shower and go to bed, I have to give a shout-out to Suzi from Georgia and Courtney from Pennsylvania.  I met Brianna (she got a picture for you) and she

the day the world didn’t end

My mother in law sent me an e-mail telling me that I didn’t need to bother getting ready for Lucketts, since the world was predicted to end today.  (She was just joking, by the way.)  Well, it didn’t and I’m glad for it.  It was an amazing day.  I’m incredibly tired, so I’m just going to share pictures of my booth and I’ll spill the beans about all of it over the next week. Thanks so much to Baby Jewels for the fondant stamp!  The cupcakes were a hit.  Also, thanks to Frog Tape for providing me with a case of tape to hand out.  I was able to give away rolls to many of my readers and they went fast! I sold all but four pieces of furniture and most of my accessories and signs.  It was madness, but the best possible kind.  I met so many amazing people.  I

all set & a winner

I finished up all of the little things for Lucketts today and I think I have done all I possibly could.  Here are some final pictures before I hit the hay… I’ll be selling loose lavender by the scoop.  My silver baby cup makes a perfect measuring device.  I have lots of beautiful dried lavender bunches in two different sizes. We spent this afternoon bundling them all, so we feel nice and relaxed! I finished up a few more signs.  This one may be my favorite sign that I have ever made.  I will also be bringing this hand painted wooden box that I finished yesterday. Everything is priced, packed, and ready to go for tomorrow.  I’ve baked cupcakes, put fresh batteries in the cameras and have crossed everything off my list.  I am filled with anticipation and ready to get some good sleep before the fun starts early tomorrow.

ready for a hurricane

Today was moving day.  We took our 17′ truck down to Lucketts and unloaded everything into my pavilion and tents. It was fun seeing all of my pieces coming out of the truck.  I realized I forgot to show you one of my favorites pieces…this amazing china cabinet (made in Sweden) with a bowed front.  It is super heavy, so it went right to my pavilion and that thing isn’t going to move until it’s sold.  I also switched some furniture around, so I have some new pieces and a fresh look for the Lucketts regulars.  I don’t have a ton of little stuff in pavilion, but I’ll probably add more on Saturday morning, if I have the time.  One of the teenagers in our youth group took the day off school to help my husband unload furniture.  It was an amazing help and really saved my back and energy.  Once my tents were

More Stuff

I woke up this morning sluggish and had very little desire to do all of the work I had on my list.  I didn’t want to paint any more.  I didn’t want to crawl around on my basement floor, sanding, waxing, upholstering.  I just wanted to work on things where I could sit down.  My awesome mom gently prodded me along.  We raided my house and got a lot of little things priced and packed.  I finished the last few pieces of furniture I had and started painting a few signs and some other things.  She then made me a healthy lunch of veggies and chicken salad and I started to perk up and we got a lot done.  A bunch of teenage guys came to my house in the afternoon to pack everything for the fair into a 17′ truck.  It was so fun to hear them complement my work.

A Special Lucketts Giveaway

We are in the thick of getting prepared for the Lucketts Antique Market. I took a break to open a lovely package I received from Jami of Freckled Laundry, though.  She makes the sweetest stuff. She sent me some of her clay tags and a lavender sachet from Maria of Dreamy Whites.  Love! Anyway, back to work.  I started the day by getting a hair cut and then went to meet my picker, Kelly, at Lucketts.  She found some awesome things for me to “Mustardize.”  My dad repaired a lot of wonky drawers and wobbly furniture… My mom painted and painted and painted… I even put my babysitter to work making glitter letters!  I’m tired and excited and filled with anticipation and hope for good weather.  I know many are coming from all over the US and I can’t wait to give hugs to each of you. I know you’re traveling to

One Week

The Lucketts Fair is in one week.  I can’t wait and I hope time slows down both at the same time.  I still have a lot to do, but I really love the stuff I am bringing.  I’m also excited about some plans I have and people I’m going to meet.  Some plans… I’m baking mini-cupcakes and topping them with a fondant circle stamped with my logo.  They will be a free offering to people shopping my booth and I think will be a welcoming touch.  Thank so much to Baby Jewels for the custom stamp. I’m also going to give out free rolls of Frog Tape.  If you read my blog and would like a roll of Frog Tape, just ask for one when you visit my booth.  I will give them out while supplies last.  In addition to the freebies, I have a lot of fun things I’m working
